Thank you for confirming my suspicion that the HiBy cover and box are not genuine leather! Now, as a VEGAN, I can buy with confidence that there is no animal abuse involved.

I’ve had the M15 for over a month, it really is good. Sits in my travel kit with two sets of IEMs.

Would you recommend over regular phone amp? I have iPhone with IEMs I’m not sure if these would help or improve with apples hi res lossless. I’m having a hard time researching what will work with apple and be better than the apple dongle.

​@@calebwhite6173You can use Fiio ka1 (lightning version).Very inexpensive way to upgrade your phones audio.Suitable for any IEMs, but struggles with full sized headphones

In terms of pure sound quality, would you get the FC6 or save a bit more for the Hiby R6 III DAP?

The m15 has lineout? In the questyle page they show rca and xlr cables for them but nobody confirms about their line out capabilities.

Oh shit! I have the m15 (which I absolutely love!) and yesterday/today was literally contemplating getting an R2R dongle dac to try R2R for the first time and hopefully have something different. Was thinking of either this Hiby or the Cayin Ru7. Definitely bookmarked this video for later viewing and seeing how this compares to the m15

Anyone know where I can buy an original black leather case for the M15 (and ship to/within the USA)? Can't seem to buy one on the Questyle website anymore and the only places I've found them elsewhere don't ship to the USA.

Loving the new format, dropping 3+ lets me consume at once. As you said the Netflix model, I want to consume in one hit. Works well, can see other KZreadrs follow. So much you could do with this formate. Add more experiments or discoveries gives a great platform to keep the story being to,d. Liking your work 👍 would like to see more android DAPs, and dongles

Can you compare the HiBy FC6 to a Cayin RU6?

Good review! I bought the M15 to use with my Focal Celestee headphones on my cell phone. The sound is excellent except that when I take the bus the sound cuts out for no reason. It might take 30 minutes of listening, or sometimes it's less. I have to unplug the USB wire and plug it back in but it starts again after 5, 10 minutes. I do not understand why. My music source is Qobuz and I don't change anything when it happens. When I'm at home in my living room, it doesn't happen. My connections are still fixed. It's very weird... Do you have any idea what it could be?

How bizarre!

I have a Hiby R7 DAP paired with a Mojo2=have had this for over a year. Also have the Questyle (we pronounce it Qstyle here in Oz) and the Hiby FC6 and carry that around in my backpack together with Senns IE900s. Great-both of them!

Does the Questyle M15 sound better than the Questyle QP2R?

It would be so nice to know how they compare with the hyped Dragonfly Cobalt, which is almost the same price...

You should really try the Cayin RU7, its the only portable 1-bit DAC on the market! It strikes a great balance between R2R smoothness and great detail retrieval found in traditional delta-sigma DACs. It is also one of the most powerful dongles, providing up to 400mW of power!

@@heywoodx5353 Sorry the FC6 is pretty bad with rolled off treble. If you want a R2R dongle you should get the RU6 however the RU7 will give you similar R2R smoothness but without sacrificing the details.

been using the hiby fc4 for a while and i was quite surprised honestly.

The question between the 2 is you want a lot of noise ,roll of at both ends ,with perfect midrange and no power ( hiby fc6 ) or you want natural, dead silent, linear with extension , power and soundstage ( questyle ) ? You decide.

How do these compare to the m3?

Question still remains, 'that weather these dongle replace expensive DAPs, while considering ONLY&ONLY sound quality using iems?? Zee, could you detect (in blind test) the source if say, M15 against RS6, DX300 etc?

Is it still relevant? Comparing the Delta sigma DAC with R2R DAC like hiby fc6. I think they are standing in different ways.

Questyle's M15 is a legend.

The ifi go bar is pretty good as well. The thing you need to try and review is the Astell&Kern ACRO L1000 headphone Amplifier. That thing has a giant ridiculously good feeling nob

Two different categories. The Qudelix is a BLUETOOTH adaptor.

"don't trust numbers". Well, when it comes to output power, you better should. What you didn't notice is that hiby states for 32 ohm load, while the M15 is stated for 300. Then recalculated roughly it makes 211mW balanced that is twice as much as hiby's SE. M15 SE is about even with hiby's. Interesting, how fast that thing will drain the phone battery

How is the batterylife with them tho? I had dc04 pro and it SUCKED my battery dry

This is the biggest problem they have imo. It's even worse if you are limping along with an aging battery. It's rare for dongles to have built in batteries but I know there are some like shanling's ua5 which is around the $250 range

I don’t really want to run anything powerhungry of my phone id rather have Bluetooth, actual battery life and EQ. I had like 1 hour 30 to go from 100%-20%. I sold it to a friend of mine for desktop use after a week i was really disappointed with the insane powerdraw

@@KopfdesRiesen My ES100 has served me well and it's more convenient. If it fails I'd strongly consider the 5K. To be honest with LDAC available you don't need a direct connection anymore if you're out and about doing other things and not focusing on the music.

Finally got a chance to listen to the Cabasse Rialtos at T.H.E. Show this past weekend. Holy crap are they mind blowing, not just incredible for the price but incredible for the entire show. That $4000 speaker just completely blew 90% of the $200,000+ systems out of the water. Literally the only thing that is stopping me from buying a pair is that I still need to listen to the KEF LS60s before I make my final judgement, that being said I might end up just getting both of them. I cannot stop raving about the Rialtos to everyone that I talk to.

Retired into a large 5th wheel RV and think those Rialto would be perfect and possibly overkill bass wise with my current SVS SB3000 powered subwoofers x2 plus 2 BassShakers in my seating..lol. The dsp they are using seems very interesting with the app control etc., and I believe they do room eq which would be helpful with the RV. I keep watching KZread videos and then you mentioned them too...hmm maybe it's fate 😅

Fiio KA5 is less expensive and has volume, screen, filters and hi/low gain. Might be worth checking out if you haven't already.

Probably the best high-power dongle at 265mW@32ohms, unless the Tempotec Sonata BHD Pro has similarly clean power at its advertised 280. Most smaller Chinese manufacturers are advertising higher power output using the Chinese law that lets them promise those power levels even if it means pushing THD+N up to a ridiculous 10% (yes, you read that right, there's no decimal point in that).

The Cayin RU6 and RU7 needs to be compared and then compared to these two…please!

I own the m15 and i love it! And if you use them for example with laptops,tablets,pc on your desk i highly recomnending for them a fiio kb1 multifunction keyboard,cause those fucking usefull and well built(specially the metal one) and convenient!!!!!!!

It's so satisfying to hear an American using the metric system.

I'm surprised you didn't mention the Cayin RU6 because that's an R2R dongle that's been out longer than the hiby. So long that Cayin just released the RU7 Edit: do you really have Gregorian chants? You really do listen to a wide range of music which is very helpful because I'm the same way.

Comparison for these niche designs should be based on technology, like HiBy FC6 and Cayin RU6 R2R (NOS-sy/veiled) devices should be compared to eachother, while weird and wonderful current-source devices like Questyle M15 and Apogee Groove should be in another comparison just with eachother.

Adding my vote to the Cayin RU6 and RU7 reviews... For the benefit of others because i have both... Both sound great but i was also shocked at how different they sound from one another. Based on early impressions im finding it hard to comprehend how good the sound separation is on the RU7... And the RU6 sounds soooo gooey (the good kind) by comparison

​@@shashank6393 There was something special about the sound of the RU7 to my ears. I'm listening through the RU7 right now and everything just feels more enjoyable, but I haven't done a detailed enough comparison with the RU6 yet to judge how different they are. From memory it just seems more resolving than the RU6, more crisp around the edges of tones but still warm. The RU6 (from memory) is more warm and less defined even though it's still an enjoyable sound. I am also enjoying the sound of the RU7 more than my Questyle M15 and my MOJO 2 at the moment, but some of that may also be because it's new so I'm not being objective.

@@ramaidaugirdas definitely still enjoy it more than the M15, if anything, just because it works better. The M15 is buggy when used with my laptop. But I do prefer the sound of the RU7 to the M15 too but I've not switched between the different DSD modes. Just kept it on the lowest so far. I'd say I enjoy the RU7 as much as the Mojo 2 but the mojo 2 is the better product on all accounts (except portability)... Rightly so given the price difference

I have my doubts.

not having physical volume control is a deal breaker for me. I like to send pure signal to the dac, if i am gonna send a signal that's already dialed by android, the signal isn't clean to start with.

I find this man very difficult to follow: how he changes the subject several times through every one of his videos.
