The altered version of the Banished Knight set looks awesome. One of my favs

The Traveler's Hat is part of the Perfumer Traveler Set and can be found in Caelid near the Streets of Sage Ruins as opposed to Elphael. Peace and Love.

My favorite combo is the Knights Cavalry set but with the Skeletal mask from the Raptor set. Not sure who here is familiar with Bleach, but it looks like a hollow mask, and I love the all black esthetic.

Honestly iv always thought the astrologers set was the cleanest sorcerer set in the game. Particularly the robes. Especially since the hood on the robe goes over certain helmets like the blindfold, nox monk hood, perfumers hood, and Vikes helm which allows for a lot of mixing with other sets that looks like it fits together very well.

The Ronin chestpiece goes really good together with the scaled hands and legs and the great helmet. Looks really cool and knightly and has the stats.

Totally agree. I’m actually doing the opposite, scaled chest with ronin gauntlets and legs with greathelm. I’m using dm greatsword and the cape matches so well

Was the fingerprint set considered? One of the most efficient sets granting an immediate 51 poise while being relatively light. It also looks amazing and slims down your character so that it's movements are much more readable.

Great video, Dom. I usually rock the Hoslow's set (older brother headpiece). I just love how it looks

Let's not forget the mask of confidence. It boosts arcane by 3 points with no drawbacks, and it weighs 3.3 lbs if I'm not mistaken

​@@mortuus4601 if only str warriors were better 😔 every str warrior I've fought just gets shredded by my int build. I have a more difficult time against arc and fai builds. I honestly do wish str warriors were better tho it can be a fun playstyle

It would be nice if we could upgrade armor the same way as weapons, I feel that in NG+5 quests onwards all these stats are worthless, you will always be light, medium or heavy role.

My first playthrough I didn't find Blaidd's helm near Seluvis' tower, so I rocked wolf imp head with his set instead. My go-to sets on subsequent characters were Niall's and Tree Sentinel for looks and stats. I swapped helms on my character wearing Niall's when I'd gotten a rare one like octopus or pumpkin head, but my favorite combination was Tree Sentinel armor and gauntlets, Lionel's greaves, and the wolf imp head for bonus stamina.

My personal favorite combo is High Paige Headpiece, Twinned Armor, Fire Prelate Gauntlets with Howslows Greaves. I run dual howslow whips with some dragon incantations. apart from the customed ones, Raging Wolf set as a whole without the cape is my always go to set, nomatter what build I am using

The Veteran's set should have been noted. I use the Kaiden helm with the Scaled set or the Beast Champion set.

I'm gonna be the guy complaining about the lack of elden lord armor, but for Banished Knights armor set. How could it not have made the list? Not even Beast Champion set? They're my faves :)

I usually go night's cavalry chest piece with fire prelates gloves & trousers. Then for the head piece I'll go with whatever makes the most sense for the character I'm playing with, seeing as it's usually the head piece that gives some form of stat or attack buff

I was doing a fire and ice build, using the moon greatsword and death's poker with the Blasphemous Blade in the pocket to reset frostbite. I rocked a mix of the carrion knight and cleanrot knight set. Carrion knight chest and legs, cleanrot helmet and gloves. The blue/red was awesome but the accents of gold/silver were really cool too. Plus, having like, four capes? Two on the helmet and two on the chest piece? It was so fun and, imo, made me look really cool.

so what one would need to do is to have 2 pieces of the same armor, alter one and the other piece would be untouched right? (on pieces where two are available)

My favorite combo is mostly about drip - Traveller's hat and gauntlets, vulgar militia greaves, and the raptors black feathers with the GUTS greatsword on the shoulder.

I used the Night's Cavalry set but substituted the Sanguine Noble's Chest to keep weight down. with my stats it kept me at medium weight and a 51 poise.

My favorite armor sets are the High Page set, Nomadic Merchant (altered chest) set, and the Guardian set.

About half way through I was going to say that my favourite set is Lione's, and there it is at the end. I just love the Mexican bowling ball look

Yea.. the Seluria set for me, is top tier. I really love the set and the weapon that goes with it, though I also like the Axe set and the sword. Playing as a crucible knight is actually quite powerful. I highly suggest it.

No mention of Bernahl's armour set (Crumbling Farum Azula)? I personally like it especially with it's cape, which is off (altered) by default. The only thing I don't like is the helm which I can't wear anyway since that would put me at heavy load so I opted to wear the Royal Knight's helm and it looks decent enough. Also, The Nomadic Merchant set in the Frenzied Flame Proscription is pretty awesome too.

I replaced it with the Greathelm. Looks like a royal crusader this way and I think the whole setup fits pretty well. But the chestpiece is a work of art, that might be the single most detailed armor in all From games.

The black knife set is my favorite well the hood is it goes with a bunch of other mix-and-match sets and components sooooo well

The “Wolf Head” Imp helm is an awesome mid weight helm as the +2 endurance will usually offset the weight over, say the scaled helm, with better stats/Def/neg. Plus a touch of extra stamina.

Scaled armor chest, veterans greaves and gauntlets, and the unaltered banished knight's helm (the one with the scarf wrapped around it) armed with a cold lance, and staff of loss.

I've been doing a sort of battlemage build. Cuckoo knight greaves and gauntlets, Carian knight chestpiece and the Haima crown. Looks pretty cool to me.

I only just started playing and I've never played a souls game before, looks matter and it's nice to have something cool on while I wander around. Thanks for the great guide, it gives me something to hunt for!

My fav looking armor is still the ronin chest piece with either the twinned arms and legs or the scaled arms and legs

What's this game equivalent to the alva set? I'm looking for solid defense but staying under 30% equip load.

I like to use hoslows chestpiece and greaves along either Blaidds gauntlets and Marais mask

Yeah, I jumped on right away to post that, too. Dom, I hope you can edit that and fix it before the video has been up too long. You reversed your less than () signs.

The ronin's set and the Banished Knight set (not the altered common one) are my absolute favorite two armors int he game. Back in the day I played my entire second run with the banished knight and my third run with the Ronin's set. For both I just slapped the Bull goat arm and greaves.

2 things- I love Radahn's armor but there's no way a tarnished could wear it (he's fricken huge). And, Dom, i hope you're practicing for Bingo Brawlers S2, 'cause I'll be rooting for you.

I always use the black knife chest for the silent footsteps and the white mask for the blood loss buff and they look pretty damn cool together

White Mask is also an important piece that most people probably already know about for making Bleed builds.

Perfumer's Helm, War Surgon armour, Blood soaked machettes and Traveller's slop. *Chef's kiss*

Aside from intelligence builds, I tend to use the Gelmir knight set

Good video. I'm actually about to start a new playthrough and may try some of these out. I'm actually not sure what kind of run I wanna do. I've done a quality run(my first playthrough), a magic run(mostly spells not really melee), a faith run(focused of Bestial spells), and an arcane run. With that last run I changed up the weapons every area and it was quite fun to try out something new every area. I'm torn between doing a Str run, a Dex bow run, an Int melee run, or a different Faith run. Any suggestions?

Could try the Unga bunga build. Duel brick hammers high strengh and endurance is nasty. Or a bow build. You could try a high crit build with daggers and glintblade phalanx ash of war for easy staggers. Talismans that regen HP and/or FP. Im running a build with guard counters/great shield and spears. I utilize my sacred tears when I get bored. I always get most of the important gear for when I want to respec

Lazuli Robe for early game or lite roll build unmatched and under appreciated

My favorite armor would be the banished armor set body is the castle Sol version, the helm is the dragon community version but I will sometimes use yura's samurai looking metal hat for the arms and boots of the bull goat

Perfume without the cape is the set I use for my Monty Python set. King Arthur is quite easy to make lol.

My top 3 1. Fur set with marias mask 2. Drake Knight set 3. Nomadic merchant set

I farmed drops for hours before finally going into NG+ and had no idea about that one damn battlemage, lmao

I use every piece of Lionel’s set except for the body and replace it with either the raging wolf or preceptors piece. Going for the battle mage/magic knight look.

It's the Erdtree Sentinel Armour, I think

Bernahl's Set (Beast Cham 0:01 pion) but without the ugly Helmet and the Navy Hood instead ,or Scaled Set with the crimson hood for the same reason

it's funny how the label this stat as "immunity" and define it as resistance. Those 2 a related but have quite a different definitions, yet they slapped them as one.

I have a question. What is the value relationship between the armor poise along with the weapon you are using? I wanted to know so I wouldn't be taking stagger gracefully in pvp after the last patch.

Two handing a colossal weapon will grant you the greatest poise, not sure how it interacts with armors.

Kaiden headpiece outclasses everything for me with the mausoleum chest piece. I'm not very far in but I thought it was noteworthy Banished knight greaves are good but ugly

The only set I want is Magnus the beast claws set.

I wish we had a place to display our collected armor sets and weapons. Skyrim gives you armor display stands in the better homes. Why doesn't Elden Ring gove us something like that? I love that we have the one chest, and don''t need to travel around looking for where we stored everything in different places, or go back to a certain location to retrieve stored things. But it seems like a real missed opportunity, the lack of any kind of display for collected items. I still want to collect them all. But it would be SO much better if I could collect AND display them all.

Also fun fact: the corpse imp head actually had an imp variant but got removed from the game. It's supposed to be a support imp that buffs and heals the rest while they fight you.

If u kill the albenuric archer npc in lurnia of the lakes then the whole set is a guaranteed drop but u miss out on the spirit summon of her

Tree sentinel set is good

you forgot two of the best sets in the game , the draconic sentinel armor and the banished knight armor , two of the best-looking armors in the game

I hate the draconic set but love the normal sentinel set.

I don't know why but I love the dungeater set. Wore it for a large part of my first playthrough. Wasn't the best fashion with my Wing Of Astel and Beast Crest Heater Shield but it's still one of my go-to sets for new playthroughs

Knight set is GOATed because it gives you exactly 51 poise and is light.

Spellblade set for 8% extra damage on magic skills, Blaid set for high poise to weight ratio, Snow witch hat for 10% dmg on frost spells, Lusat and Azur crowns for extra spell damage for a small cost increase, banished knight sets for aesthetic and so on.

I had the godricks knight set for lots of levels looking for something better, but every armor set i found actually had worse stats. Finally, i found the Banished Knight set in Caelid and farmed it only discover it weighs the same as a 18wheel. Leveled my endurance to 40 just so i could wear it at medium load.

Surprised to not see the raptures black feathers chest piece which boosts jump attacks and the white mask which boosts attack in the presence of blood loss. Also worth noting that 51 and 101 poise are important breakpoints for poise in pve.

Coming back to kill tragoth for the volcano manor quests after using his help for all 3 of the relevant bosses made me feel like such a piece of garbage 😅 Though still not as bad as acquiring millicents prosthesis 😭😭

The only reason the elden Lord set sucks is because we don't have a ghost of serosh on the back...if it did, it would be the number 1 most mused armor

In response to the thumbnail "Why are you not using this?" The answer is simple, it don't look COOOooooOOOOll enough to me.

Somehow in 120h of my first playthro i miss at least 50% of this sets

I think the scaled armor is the most optimal on higher levels. It's a shame because I wanted to try PVP with light sets and it's just not viable at all....and I'm no good at it.

@@fredbyoutubing yes 150 is true meta and 125 is where you get your toes wet before moving on. I'm having a lot of fun at 125, but those extra 25 levels really make a difference especially when facing more opponents.

@@fredbyoutubing I've always felt that invasions are unfair to the invader anyway so don't have any expectations and just feel grateful if you kill even one ganker. I've never felt frustrated at elden ring pvp the way I have with other games but let me tell you I get so much adrenaline when I wipe out an entire squad of players with a barely minmaxed str/fth blasphemous blade build.

So the Mushroom set is a Hazmat Suit Armor

My build is weird. A lightweight and nimble armor style would, in theory, go better. But I'm bad at the game. Don't tell me to git gud. It's not that simple. For me, I AM gud, and always getting better. But compared to many others, I'm just pretty clumsy, slow, and bumbling. I'm never gonna be THAT gud. So I need the most armor protection I can manage. So, I've overleveled myself and put a bunch into endurance so I can wear the heaviest armor. (I don't care if I'm too overleveled for PVP, since I don't do PVP anyway.) I'm also a math geek. I have made a spreadsheet for the game. I've put in all the most protective armor pieces I've collected so far, and designed a page to compile the top few into ALL possible outfits and then sort them by total protection (I add the physical and elemental protection numbers to get one number for comparison, and then the total resistances secondarily, and the poise third). Then I can look at my current build, figure out the max weight I can afford to wear (given what else I'm carrying), and go down the list until I find the first outfit that falls at or under that weight. My BEST, most protective outfit so far is the Bull Goat set with the Fire Prelate helm. The poise is 1 less than the Bull Goat helm, but both the total protections and the total resistances are higher, *and* it's lighter, so I think it's better. I'm surprised you didn't mention the Fire Prelate set at all. Actually, I don't know much about the rest of the set yet, as I haven't collected anything but the helm, but the helm, at least, is fantastic. The items in my top armor list (again, this isn't complete, as it's just from what I've collected so far in my playthrough) are, mostly in order top to bottom: Fire Prelate Helm, Bull Goat Set, Lionel's Set, Omen Set, Pumpkin Helm, Prisoner Iron Mask, Banished Knight Set (*), Radahn's Set. You mentioned most of these, but I think you missed a couple. (*) (Although I don't have a helm for the Banished Knight set yet and only have the altered armor so far. The altered armor is not as good as Radahn's armor, but the other pieces are better, and I think the unaltered armor is probably better as well.) (I'm not sure whether the Prisoner Iron Mask ranks higher or lower than the Banished Knight helm.)

I am usually, at this point, wearing the Bull Goat set with Fire Prelate helm if I'm using a Rune Arc, or if I'm not, then I swap out the gauntlets to the Banished Knight gauntlets. (I die far too often to use those things ALL the time. I use them when I feel fairly confident that I'm in an area where I will live for a while. If I die, and it's because I'm in an area where I'm likely to die again, I don't use another one for a while, until I'm again in a relatively safer area. I've tried farming rats, but only once ever did I get a rune arc from them. So I know that the supply I have, and whatever few more I find in game, has to last me the rest of the game.)

Honestly the elden lord set would be so much better if it wasnt sleeveless. Sleeveless armor is completely counterintuitive

Where tree sentinel armor? Dude..

I never seen most sets, on pvp meta level. You should do meta lvl builds like Lost and Jeenie, for people that actually play, not casuls

I think the only thing I don’t like with Elden ring armour are the helmets. They take the majority of knight armour and make it look dumb
