Sword of St. Trina is amazing against Rune Bears, I highly recommend using it on them. Doing a Int melee run and it trivialized the Rune Bears. I was able to put them to sleep with the cloud, crit attack them, and put them back asleep before they stood up. Seriously it was crazy how I was able to stun lock them with St. Trina. Some great Ashes that are overused: Reduvia-Reduvia Bloodblade, Black Knife-Blade of Death, Royal Greatsword- Wolf Assault, Marais Executioner's Greatsword-Eochaid's Dancing Blade, Bloody Helice-Dynast Finesse, Death Ritual Spear-Spearcall Ritual, and any of the Envoy Horn-Bubble(the Longhorn being the superstar). All great weapons but overused. Some Ashes that might be underrated but still great are: Marika's Hammer-Gold Breaker, Cleanrot Spear-Scared Phalanx, Siluria's Tree-Silurias Woe, Halo Scythe-Miquella's Ring of Light, Beastclaw Greathammer-Regal Beastclaw, Blade of Calling-Blade of Gold, and One-Eyed Shield-Flame Spit. All of these are solid though the Holy ones fall off more so because of the Holy resist bosses.

St. Trina’s torch can also do sleep

My absolute favourite weapon to use is Eleonoras Poleblade. Just the most fun weapon for me, as are all poleblade weapons. But I have to say, I've only beaten Elden Ring 3 times (2 times solo and once helping a friend) and it was the Blasphemous Blade that did it every time for me. The Sacred Relic I find is great for farming runes, and a little over powered in some circumstances. It's almost easy mode. But Blasphemous is my go to for late game and Eleonoras is my "fun" time weapon.

Why does no one ever talk about Roses' Axe? It helped me through my current playthrough. You can stunn so many enemies with the ashes of war.

Bloodhound's Fang? It is my absolute fav weapon in the entire game. Bloodhound's Finesse is amazing and should of been on this list, though I respect your opinions.

Same, several playthrough's and I always go back to it. Pretty basic move, but effective.

I like the Thunderstorm on the Stormhawk Axe. It's like a lightning version of the Godskin peeler.

You helped me get through the game so much when I was new. So so excited for the DLC and imagining you up for three days straight when it comes out to get us your wonderful content. Loved your video on the weapons AOW. Will definitely relook at a few. I really love StarScourge great sword as my main buddy…but was surprised Marika’s hammer didn’t make the list. On all the littler bosses in caves and catacombs and times where you’re getting invaded by NPC’s I don’t think anything can come close to matching it. Of course the big bosses all have their unique strategy. I would have given up on this game if not for you, but have main character finished NG7 and 4 others that are all in to NG plus territory…one left at first run with all bosses ready to go that I just want to play the DLC the first time so I can compare with NG plus. I had only played sports games prior to ER and again can’t express my gratitude enough. You’re awesome!!!

Great video! Also, question - how would you feel if there were a few more characters like Vyke in Elden Ring? Perhaps a few more heroes that, at some point, were considered worthy candidates of becoming an Elden Lord, but each representing a different character archetype: we already have a fast guy with a spear, so how about a mage, a tank, a rogue and maybe 2 or 3 others each with unique armor sets, weapons, skills and LORE. I feel like that is a wasted opportunity for FromSoftware at the moment, perhaps the DLC will introduce more characters like Vyke,

Very glad to see the Starscourge swords get the respect they deserve. Most don't look past the long windup time. It trivializes smaller type enemies and bosses completely, trading is not an issue due to the hyper armor and damage reduction it gets. NPC invaders will cower before you. I've entered large rooms, pressed two buttons, and cleared them within 2 seconds, gank sections are no longer a problem, likely because the AOW works 360 degrees rather than, say, wave of gold, which neglects flanking enemies. And even if you don't like the long windup time of the second strike, just don't use it against aggressive enemies. The AOE roar attack does good damage on its own especially with the highland axe, roar medallion, and magic damage/skill buffs. You can stand around a corner or behind objects and hit enemies with the roar from quite a distance. Having trouble getting hits off against maliketh or God skin duo? Stand in safety behind a pillar and roar two or three times. And the swords have reliable jump and running attacks. With knowledge of timing, or combination with a left hand staff, it is as fun as it is devastating. More reliable than others admit. Might be my personal favorite somber weapon.

I like Loux Earthshaker although it can be easily interrupted if you have a low poise. It would be nice to see only Ashes that can be transferred over rather than pemanent ones that come with a specific weapons..))

Eleonaras bloodflame dance staggers just about everytging if you land the second hit. If youre using the rotwing insignia, milicents prosthesis, lord of bloods exaltation, and analexanders shard, and wearing the war surgeons mask, when you do the ash of war and you hit on the second attack, it staggers them, you do the charged r2 and then the charged follow up r2, and do an insane amount of damage. I made the fire giant rip his leg off after one of these combos, i one shotted the general at the castle of sol, i one shotted briar elmer, and i did this combo twice and turned placidisax to dust. Its so very satisfying, and you look super cool doing it.

Falling Star Beast Jaw was my weapon of choice for NG+3+4+5, now on NG+7 I'm trying everything out.

Golden Land carried me through so much of my first playthrough!

Honestly, the Sword of Night and Flame is so awesome that I've debated trying to work with the uncomfortable thrust attack in the middle of the short sword dual wielding combo string that still irks me because it feels so unnatural, but the Ash of War also makes me okay with using double edged blades if I were to use them. But for now, I'm sticking with wielding a Curved Greatsword in one hand. Namely, the Dismounter, since it has a guard and doesn't look too weird. I'm currently using Patch 1.10 Vacuum Slice.

The gravity bolt was powerful, however, it has been patched and now it deals pitiful poise/stance damage

I like to use the DragonBall Blade in my offhand with a lightning katana in my main. Blue and yellow lightning blades look so cool

I adore bastards star,astel weapon is def slept on, play through 4 at least and it's my fav since game 1. It's explosions is insane and hits anything and kills anything close or in if my hit doesnt kill it and staggers.

radahns blades and godfreys axe and ofc sacred sword - ashes of war are my favorite ones, run towards a group and blast them away even on ng+7

The weapon changes with target. SRS is great on AoE but many targets are immune to Holy. Gargoyles are weaker to Ground, so Fallen Beast jaw is best. Blasphemous is excellent against those not resistant to fire, and also heals on killing. Peeler with Order's Blade is awesome against skeletons. The video does make me think about other options though.

Glintstone pebble on a great sword is my favorite, can't beat a projectile that leads into a long stab

Thing is nasty

I've used the ruins greatsword and even more so it's weapon art (wave of destruction) to breeze through my first playthrough up t'ill NG+4. I would probably have used it t'ill NG+7 but I stopped playing at that point. The only time I used something else was for the last boss, I used the GreatSword with lion something ash of war (cant remember exactly lol)

I really don't like the sleep sword much witch it is very low on the list but I like to use the crafting system a lot is kinda fun to mix in to your tool kit

Good vid, but some weren't unique. Ex: black flame tornado you can put on none unique weapons after godskin duo, and the nebula is also on the bastards stars

Bastard's stars also has the Nebula AoW, but with a slight glide forward and a near complete circle explosion radius, plus damage on the physical swing itself. Also, first comment? Let's goooo, I didn't even do that on purpose!

I've used it recently and it was pretty solid. The Ash is a little harder then Wing of Astel to hit because of the spread but you connect with the flail swing and it packs a punch. Wing is better on large bosses and corridors while Bastard's is better against groups trying to surround you and stone enemies.

It's always kinda bugged me that people make such a big deal outta Moonveil & RoB in pvp, when I reckon FSBJ is way worse, especially in enclosed areas. If someone in a gank squad is using it, you're pretty much effed & they can just spam the shite outta that gravity zap, meaning all you can do is spam roll to try to evade it so you're wide open to attacks from everyone else. The rest of these weapons are cool & all but personally, I'd take Nagakiba over all of 'em.

Marais Executioners Sword has Eochaid Dancing Blade that's cooler AND stronger than any skill on this list.

St trina torch applies sleep as well. Golden land, loretta slash, tornado, are standard WA, not a unique. Every physical build has elemental damage as well. Family head overused???? It can't come even close to poleblade, poker, bolt of grandsax, relic sword or wings... PS: And why truly unique ashes are not even mentioned? roses, kriss, godfrey axe, all godrick weapons, marika's hammer etc.

GODSKIN peeler isn't a special weapon.

The one that I do not agree with is loretta's popsicle..it was such a disappointment and angel's wings is way better and stops pvp bitches from healing, has this unique effect of feathers comin when you cast it and the enemies smoke like they've been burned from the inside..It also has bleed.

Loretta's Slash isn't unique

Yeah ok so this is another video where the segmented search bar feature is extremely poorly implemented. I tried scanning through the sections to get a feel for where you were going, but everything has the same thumbnail image and a generic ‘Weapon 1, Weapon 2 etc’ title card. That’s trash bro. Doesn’t cater to me, the viewer. My time is valuable, and I don’t intend on potentially wasting it if I’m already well aware of the content of the video beforehand. The correct way to handle this is to post a different image of each individual ash of war alongside a brief title description for the chapters. This low effort crap makes me want to unsubscribe.
