I own quite a few of these beautiful things lol.... they are incredibly accurate. they are always on point!!! 45 colt will make you crap your pants ... But 454 casull with the raging judge IS AN Even better CHOICE FOR WHEN TSHF... not a plinking gun for sure... IT IS A GREAT GUN TO DEFEND AGAINST HOME INVASIONS or a car jacking ! With the right 410 ammo FOUR 9mm like-slogs will be flying out towards the intended target with a single shot and U can't beat that... u need to pull the trigger four times on a regular 9mm revolver or semiautomatic handgun and with the perfect ammo cocktail on the gun u will be victorious lol Normally Home invasion shootings happened within 6 to 8 - 10 feat away from the intruders.... so it is recommended that you shoot first .... lol!!! Again u hv to be ready to react to a home invasion because they will be by your bedside in about 6 to 15 seconds after they kick in the door so u hv to be ready to access your weapon and be ready to use it ....no hesitations and once the surprise attack is discover they quickly want to goooooo if they have been shots fired......they know that the police and neighbors are on their way provably ready to get them!! These revolvers are amazing an they are an amazing choice for home defense !!! Double action is great because is safe it is easy to use and is not complicated to understand it!! Now u want long distance, easy to concealed and lots of rounds!!! That's another issue for a different gun

I agree! When the Taurus Judge uses good quality 45 Colt (.45 Long Colt) ammo, it is a firearm force just as powerful as a 1911 A1 using .45 acp. When used by someone who has actually received survival training with a Judge, it becomes an excellent hunter as well as a decent defensive weapon. Of course, I would use my Ruger Super Red Hawk in .454 Casull & my Glock MOS M40 10 mm before going to my Judge. which I believe is an excellent backup weapon.

Dank Hankerson people hate the ak because they have shot something more refined. We live in an age where everything is ambidextrous. You can load a round from either hand. Switch from safe to fire with one hand. Load a magazine with an upward thrust, there is no pawing the magazine into the mag well. Most modern weapons are lighter and more precise due to the modern methods of mounting a barrel to the upper receiver. You can switch the upper receiver on an ar15 and have different barrel lengths, and calibers at your disposal. The ak is technology from the 40’s. It uses riveted bolts and trunions. The ak was made to be cheap and reliable, thats about it. What this weapon system lacks is consistency . You can’t just grab a part off one ak and use it on another. Every country makes them slightly different. The ak lacks a rail on top for red dots or other accessories unless you change the rifle to suit your needs. In other words you have to buy stuff to make it work like a modern gun. The action is more clunky, and the recoil is noticeable but not horrible. It does eat gloves, it does emit more heat and flash. It’s just a different experience in general. People collect weapons for different experiences, different calibers different needs. Go shoot one and find out for your self!

My father asking me to teach him how to use his autoloader is what convinced me that for some people, revolvers are just the answer. He's not souper old or anything, but just is not good at visualizing mechanical actions / does not retain this type of knowledge. He's the type of person that still prefers VHS tapes, as having to navigate a title menu on a dvd/blueray is too complicated because it's visually different for each movie, etc. He's the type of person you have to sit down and coach how to load a magazine every time we go to the range (what direction to put the bullets), the difference between a chambered weapon vs unchambered and loaded magazine are not obvious, this goes for unloading and making safe. Forget about field stripping for cleaning (whereas with a revolver basic cleaning can be done without disassembly). Revolvers are just intuitive for the non-mechanically inclined. Open and put bullets, will go bang when trigger is pulled; open and take out bullets, gun is now safe. Even with revolvers it's also not immediately obvious to some that a DA/SA revolver can be fired without having the cock the hammer. It's easy to forget these type of people exist until you encounter them in the wild. It reminds me of product/software development, the developer has no idea how wonky and in which ways a product that seems intuitive will get broken until placed in the hands of users.

The sales guy was really "good" and told me all the "great: things just as cheaper ammo, more rounds per magazine, less recoil, smaller and easier to handle, etc. And of course, he gave me "great" discounts on the firearm if I buy like $100 worth of ammo. Long story short, about 5 years ago, I paid about $3k to get my used Python and I am still waiting for a gun-buy-back program near me to get my $150 to $200 for that piece of work called Lorcin.

About 30 years ago I bought a SKS Chinese rifle for about $70. I tried it a few times but I kept thinking, between the forward magazine tab, and the craptastic build, maybe I could make it more usable. I made alterations to the trigger group. Removed the heavy wooden stock, which formerly served as a landing strut to a Yak-7. Replaced it with a composite ( designed in a jet propulsion 🧪 lab ) stock with a collapsible shoulder bolster, designed from a Lazy Boy chair arm. Still, having been trained on the M-14 ( a lighter weight boat ⛵ anchor ⚓) along with several more years qualifying with the M-16, it was difficult for me to grow to like this Chinesium special. Years later I had as much fun as one could stand with it, and sold it. It's a shame I didn't hold on to it when this "panic buying" started. It looked all Para-Ranger-Special-Forces bad, and would have likely netted me a down payment on a new Lamborghini. I'm now left with a bow and a few arrows, along with my Range Rider BB gun.

AK guy here, I don't get it... wha??? At least our manual of arms doesn't look like a government printed coloring book written for 6th grade reading comprehension... just sayin...

I'm very surprised the 1911 didn't make this list. A good one is a great gun. However they are obsolete as a combat firearm.

Typical gun expert bias ... for self defense, in the middle of the night, I'm more comfortable with a newbie grabbing a revolver than a semi --- don't worry about safety, racking a round, etc. But you TOTALLY redeemed yourself with the AK advice. Spot on. It's a very confusing genre for the newbie.

Practice social distancing, buy a hi-point or Mosin and you'll be fine cause people will avoid you for sure

Mosin nagant is a fantastic surplus rifle, just don't use corrosive ammo.

Drop a 9mm for about $100.00 and now you have a compact 9mm for less. Add some 9mm Glock mags.

I had 4,500 rounds through my century arms wasr 10. Never cleaned it, never has it jammed or malfunctioned. Super cheap and super reliable. At least my copy. I hated losing it in that boating accident…

It’s insane how many people I saw panic buying weapons and ammo 🤦🏽‍♂️
