Hey folks, slight production error. We had a section discussing that we were avoiding the big, obvious, smash your face commanders like Anzrag. Add a Pestilent Spirit to that deck, as a backup plan to Judith. It's the OG effect, and then you're free to make Imps.

The slightly unhinged edge to this video made it VERY entertaining to watch. I am personally excited for “I woke up and chose violence” Judith.

When Maro said that the Omenpaths will have impact on gameplay, I think he might've meant those one-off returns to mechanics like, in the case of Massacre Girl, Wither.

I managed to somehow pull a Delney in my prerelease and I couldn’t be happier. I was interested in her, but wasn’t gonna dish out $20+ just for her, but the fact that I have her now makes me wanna just throw all the 2 power and lower white creatures I have into the deck and just go crazy.

I hit Massacre Girl and I’m similarly excited to build decks with her. I’m also wondering if she will become a standard menace along side stuff like Gix now, although she does compete with Sheoldred…I guess if the latter gets banned.

Haven't even watch the video but I'm sure it'll be a fun watch. Just like the video where you explain what's the binder of cards I see in the background of your Shuffle Up and Play videos. Among other intriguing tidbits I spot.

Delney also pairs well with dusk/Dawn! Board wipe AND recursion!

The FLGS put out collector boosters early in the middle of commander night last night. Bought one pack and I managed to pull an invisible ink Delney. I'd have been overjoyed to pull any card with that treatment but for it to have been THE chase card, other than a serialized of course, has me over the moon.

Judith, Carnage Connoisseur is really great too. She turns so many cheap low damage spells into one-sided board wipes that also heal you. And in you have her make a ton of Imps it’s fun to pop them all at once and watch the fireworks.

Nice list of Commanders from the new Karlov Manor set. I'm looking forward to seeing these in action at my LGS!

We broke Orcish Bowmasters? Professor. The absolute delivery of that, the tone, superb.

I think Diggy Diggy Mole (Anzrag) has a lot of potential. Add some indestructible or damage prevention shenanigans, along with "whenever a creature attacks" triggers and you have so much value. Plus this deck can do well with the red and green Theros and Amonkhet gods combined with the lands from Legends that give your legends Banding. It is a repeatable board wipe on a giant stick. And it is glorious.

I've been using Anzrag in a few games. You drop him early enough, force blocks, and have a way to keep him from dying and he can wipe the board the turn he comes out it's insane. He also goes infinite with a little setup

I’m so exited to build a Voja deck, just got back from my pre-release and pull him, super excited!

Vannifar and Judith are my favorites from this set and the showcase art for them is STUNNING. Whole set has a ton of awesome cards though.

Incredible that we’ll hopefully see Prof hit 1M subs this year. Can’t wait!

I'm super excited for the Deep Clue Sea precon and Morska, Undersea Sleuth! I've been wanting a Bant Clues deck since Investigate first premiered, so I'm over the moon rn!

my favorite is Judith, carnage connoisseur tbh. you get more than a dozent onesided boardwhipes, that even gain you life for 1 to 3 mana. And when you draw cards or spotremoval something or counter a spell you just create a shockingly cute little imp!! :)

The real best commanders were the friends we made along the way ❤

Im most hyped about Vannifar, Evolved Enigma. I got to play with her in Pre-Release and she was super fun. Plus the amount of possible builds i can do with her (morph/disguise, artifact, Eldrazi) has me super excited to make her my next Commander

NeoEtrata is the commander I am the most excited to build around, but in second place is definitely Aurelia, the Law Above. Everyone will smash face like I usually do in EDH and if you don't have the creatures to do so I'll even give you some!

Can’t wait to build the new Judith.

I really like the new aurelia(already made a deck on her) I like the twist of gifting your opponents creatures only to goad then and gain value from them

Pride of Hull Cladd is going to be in my 99 for arcades when I build him next year.

I have been struggling to figure out a Selysnian (sp) commander that I wanted to build and was finally inspired to build around Trostani with small evasive creatures with damage triggers. We’ll see how it goes. Nothing else really piqued my interest as a commander, but a lot of good stuff for the 99!

I'm actually excited for a few, the new Niv-Mizzet, Guildpact is going to helm a gates deck i've always been wanting to build but didn't really vibe with any of the 5 color commanders. I also am looking to toy around with the new Boros precon and new Aurelia.

So, my friend attended a prerelease event and got some stuff from it, including a promo card that was essentially *begging* to be the new commander for my upgraded Prismari Performance deck: Melek, Reforged Researcher. Truly an Izzet spellslinger's best friend.

Anzrag, the Quake- Mole has entered the chat. I think that he will be a funny go wide strat and with green there is a lot of things that can force them to block him for the value of the bonus combat. You can also run evasion in different forms to keep him alive after you slap lure on him and just swing for days

These are all very cool commanders. Definitely surprising and yet not surprising that Delney made the list. I am a little surprised Anzrag didn't make the list, but I'm also expecting way too many people to build Anzrag.

I have only been playing for a few months and have been looking for a spell sling commander. Judith, Carnage Connoisseur is going to be fun.

I was super stoked with Etrata. Dimir Assassin Tribal has been one of my favourite decks to run against friends, but Ramses just wasn’t cutting it as my commander when I only had 1V1’s against friends and I didn’t want to use Etrata The Silencer because she felt cheap in a more casual game, but Deadly Fugitive has easily taken up the Commander spot and made my latest iteration of the deck soar. I kinda wish we got more regular Assassin creatures other than just Vein Ripper and like 2 other guys in Karlov Manor, but her being a really fun and strong commander on her own is satisfying enough

Delney goes by They/Them, at least according to the flavor text of their Showcase Dossier card.

Neat video! Markets at Karlov Manor looks to be a fun set! At 8:30 or so, I actually have a comment on Pride of the Hull Clade. Double Strike is great for a number of reasons, but doesn't activating the ability targeting the same creature multiple times offer the same result? Triggered abilities with "whenever" tend to stack, no? Like Ascendant Spirit! One legendary creature from the main set I felt was left out is Voja, Jaws of the Conclave. Yes, splitting a deck between two creature types may be seen as unfopcused, but this is a really powerful effect; your elves make all your creatures, including your commander, permanently stronger. And wolves draw you cards. It should be fine anyway, as elves tend to be good mana dorks anyway, and your wolves can be your vanguard when it comes to combat. I feel I should mention changelings here, equipment and auras that make a single creature have all types, and especially the one-time effects of Shields of Velis Vel, Volatile Claws and lasting or repeatable effects of Maskwood Nexus and Mirror Entity. What a powerhouse!

The frustrating thing about Voja, which I only just found out, is that it's exclusive to the pre-release kit and only has a 1 in 3 chance of being pulled. You can't actually get it from the set itself, which sucks, so while it's released with Karlov Manor, it's actually not part of the main set as you can't pull it from boosters. It's the last card I want for my Shalai and Hallar deck, so I'm going to have to just buy it separately. I guess WotC doing that was to incentivise people to actually take part in the pre-release. Pretty disappointing.

@@goatsfluff Yea, there were only a few cards I wanted from Karlov though, so thankfully it won't be too expensive for me. Hopefully we'll have some Cowboy Elves with Thunder Junction, haha. My Shalai and Hallar deck is made up of elves and hydra's. I've not had a chance to play with it yet, but I recently added War Elemental to it.

"Every day we stray further from God" was one of the best jokes I've seen you make. Most excited for the new Aurelia, The Law Above. Also Voja, Jaws of the Conclave, the new Wolf/Elf Commander as a promo. Pulled both of those today in my pre-release, along with getting the Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose promo and several Sultai Surveil Dual Lands that I needed for my Standard deck (yes, paper standard *gasp*). I'm a happy man with this pre-release :D

As a big Golgari fan, I’m happy with Izoni, Center of the Web. Also, Massacre Girl, Known Killer is a killer card in the 99 for Grismold, the Dreadsower, who wants a lot of those ‘’All creatures get -1/-1’’ effects. You get free, incidental card draw!

Wizards should just do the right thing and errata the old Arabian Nights creatures to become legendary. When everyone ends up using Pride of Hull Clade, we will find ourselves gathering together for warmth, cowering in the darkness that is the meta and whispering a name that echoes of a hope beyond: Ali Baba.

Apparently there was a card with “branding” in Unfinity where branding was just banding again. It didn’t play well/wasn’t liked and was ultimately cut from the set. So they did at least try!

One of my favorite pet decks is Subira, whole is practically the Delney for red creatures. It's literally just mono red hate bears, every small red creature that poke your opponents when they do a thing. But now with both of them, I'm interested to look into if there will be a deck that I can put them both in and expand the hate bearing that will take place. Personally I don't like Alesha because she only revives, so maybe something like Winota being able to bring it all together? Any recommendations are also welcome!

Add whispersilk cloak to the hull commander and you're having a good time.

I've found that giving Hull Clade trample and using Assault Formation or something so he assigns damage equal to his toughness instead of power makes him practically unstoppable. Even if you only swing once you now have 15 extra cards in hand which plays great with Maro creatures (you can drop a 40/40 flyer on people with the right setup), but also just generally crushes your opponent under card advantage.

My big problem is the piece mealing of this set. There are exclusive cards in pre release kits, 6 exclusive in clue edition, and cards exclusive in pack in the clue edition. Some cards are just going to be stupidly expensive because of this

I'd say my top two non-precon, non-Clue edition commanders that didn't make the list here would be Judith, Carnage Connoisseur and Vannifar, Evolved Enigma. The former looks like she'll make for an interesting Rakdos "spells matter" build, while the latter looks like it could be fun not just with face-down cards or Eldrazi, but also just good old fashioned colorless artifact creatures. And speaking of face-down cards, I feel like Etrata, Deadly Fugitive would slot well into the 99 of a Missy morph deck I've had puttering around in my brain since the Doctor Who Universes Beyond stuff came out.

I'm doing to pre-releases at my LGS this weekend, but I think ill sleep on the rest of this set.

Also, if you are actually playing walls. It is asking a lot to let each attack for four mana for each one when arcades lets them all attack for free.

Vannifar was the first to catch my eye. They seem to offer a lot of interesting ways to play with cloak and disguise.

The new Massacre Girl is going straight into my Colonel Mustar... I mean, my Hapatra deck. 1/1 deathtouch snakes with wither?! So I either get in for damage with a small army of creatures, or I get to kill theirs, and my army will be replaced with fresh, new, untapped snakes? Sing me in!!

As someone who only plays Brawl on Arena and not actual Commander, I approve that all of these cards are available there! Always so jealous of the commander cards that we don't get :(
