Well…I dropped out at 56, bought my yacht and have been cruising the Mediterranean for 4 years…I’m relatively wealthy by EU standards, and I’m in ‘good’ shape (for 61, the girls say my bod is a 10, compared to 35 year olds, I’m a 7). My average age woman in the past 4 years is 42…and they all have bodies of 8 to 10…and another fact: they could care less if I’m sailing away all the time. In fact, it makes me more attractive, cuz they know they don’t have to deal with me… So…there’s a data point for ya as you look to the future. • @epicbehavior

I don’t know if you equate being “nice” with being kind, but one of the problems is that people on the internet seem to think you have two options: be nice and therefor beta, or be a dickhead and be alpha. The highest level is to be kind and alpha. That doesn’t mean you’re a doormat for anyone, in fact, you exert your will on the world. You can still treat people well. People in abundance can afford to do this. People need to understand nuance more.

Women aren't lying when they say kindness is an important trait they're looking for in a man, but truth is it's not hard to be kind to a woman you love. It's easy to be kind (also easy to fake being kind) and a lot of men are kind. It's not a scarce trait in men, so it's not a particularly important trait they're looking for, it's a bare necessity.

That survey was done in 2008. Women who were 24 back then were a lot more normal and much more reasonable, I know because I too was 24 in 2008. I guarantee you that if you were to do the exact same survey, again in the Midwest of USA, from 107 women with a median age of 24 years, the results would be different. I'd bet most wouldn't care about a guy being potential father/parent material or liking or wanting children, because most women now won't want children. And the monetary side of the scoring would be higher than the looks and/or masculinity/physique.

I hate those kinds of survey, because people (especially women) tend to lie so they can appease their conscience or ego. Its better to ask more measurable things. How many men have you slept with in the last 3/5/10 months/years? How many of them have been 1/2/5/n years older younger than you? Do you work? How much do you earn? What kind of job had your previous partners? How many of them were fit? Had you cheated? Been cheated on? How many times? These kind of questions are more likely to be answered sincerely (and more accurate).

Women values degrees because of earning potential (money) and arm candy. If you have a degree in engineering, computer science, architecture or an MD, MS, JD or PhD that is arm candy at the dinner table with her parents (Rich you talked about this in your book) and when she brags to her female friends it puts her higher on the female social hierarchy. Also it supports female hypergamy educational attainment at her level or higher.

Post wall, completely different. Case in point, sister and nephew. My sister was married to a guy who completely let himself go but had status in the church and money. He died and she married another out of shape guy who had diabetic problems and was even an amputee, but, he had more money and status in their circle. Nephew is out of shape and looks very much like his father, big belly but but makes bank, super model wife. Money and status past 30 and they’ll leave you if you don’t have it. Agree, can’t be nice and thoughtful. I have beautiful wife (not on paper) I’ve done less nice guy stuff than in any other relationship and we’re going on 17 years. Let them complain, let them stew but don’t do anything beyond what you want. Seriously, your odds are better.

I’m way too old but I think I can safely say the ability to make money is pretty much #1 because without that ability, there is no valuable woman that would consider a man. otherwise . Looks is difficult because what’s “ good looking” to females depends on what an individual finds physically attractive… have you ever heard the saying, “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”? There have been MANY MEN that I personally have found NOT ATTRACTIVE at first glance but after getting to know them, or see the type of person they are, I’ve done a total 360! Using Rich as an example… he’s not really what some attractive women would, at first glance, find to be eye catching, but after you hear his voice, how deep, manly, and discern how alpha he is, and confident, decisive…. Then he’s totally HOT! I just don’t want some men out there thinking they have to have the physical appearance of a model looking man to get a woman because that’s totally not the case for most women. People look totally different once you get to know them.

Along with it being subjective, nearly everyone takes looks into an account to an extent (guys and girls). I have met a handful of women who proclaimed looks didnt really matter, but that is more of a minority. Everything costs money, thus money=security & power. Turn the tables, look at young women from wealthy families (not all), and they're attractive: they're brutal to men. Just like some millionaire rockstars are proud womanizers.

But those characteristics are important to **ME** regardless of it helps or hinders my success with women. I've watched a few of Rich's videos that I recently stumbled upon, and it's fine -- lot of points are at least anecdotally true -- but I don't the general viewpoint he's selling is one I want to buy into.

I hear where you’re coming from but these were broken up into categories! unless they asked all of these questions to the women in an uncategorized and randomized way and the researchers later categorized the answers and scores as they saw fit, then it’s not fair to make the argument that sex appeal ranks above such and such other stuff. The kindness one being low - in its category - shows me that women put a man being good to their kids above that man being kind to them, not wise in my opinion but selfless like a mother would typically be. I don’t think women are saying sex appeal trumps allllll the other stuff that scored lower; I think it means within that category of questions, it ranked the highest. And that should make men feel good - looks ranked a bit lower than sex appeal, confidence, etc.

Maybe women can not evaluate intelligence by itself, only through achievments? It would make sense to not care about intelligence if you are like Kant for example, or Goethe, or else. Unless you can convert intelligence into sex appeal, charisma, power, charm and money, it is irrelevant for mating strategies it seems. Of course, if you are so intelligent you dominate all, by virtue of power and status, you do become desirable I'd say. I'd say the grad diploma is an extension of status in that regard, hence why it is more desirable than intelligence itself.
