I think it’s easy to mistake popularity for ability, and while I’m old enough to remember watching the 70’s competition on tv, I still assumed we would see the likes of Adam Bishop on the list, but you’re right, all of the men on the list have achieved highly in the international scene.

Aww, I love it. Just seeing Forbes Cowan at number 10, I already knew I was going to love these lists. Such a great athlete. Fast, and deceptively strong at times. Give him a farmers walk or something like that, he could change the landscape of a competition. And on the other side of these lists, Geoff Capes... 1985 is one of my favorite years at Worlds Strongest Man and his win over Kaz (Who was 3rd, with Jon Pall Sigmarsson in 2nd) at the World Muscle Power Classic in 1987 is something a lot of guys who only follow WSM, or maybe haven't gotten all that deep into some of the older competitions may have missed. WMPC was likely second only to WSM from the middle of the 80's straight through to the end of the 90's, so it's also worth mentioning he also placed above Kaz (who placed 3rd again) when he podiumed just behind Jon Pall Sigmarsson in 2nd place at the 1985 World Muscle Power Classic. Geoff was a fucking machine. Anyway, 1. Geoff Capes - He's the best. 2. Jamie Reeves - He was tremendously strong and consistent. Jamie won every single year he was in Britain's (x4) and England's (x6). Won Europe's twice, won WMPC twice. He also placed 2nd twice at WMPC. 3. Eddie Hall - x5 Britain's in a row, x6 UK's in a row taking the torch from Glenn Ross, and x2 England's. Beast is right. He just didn't really win outside of the UK save his win at WSM. 4. Tom Stoltman - To me, the most capable and greatest current Strongman, along with maybe Oleksii Novikov and Martins Licis. More or less I expect him to win more competitions moving forward and it looks like it's his time to shine. Like you guys said, he could very well be number one with another win at WSM or a few other major shows. 5. Loz - You sell yourself way too short. Your resume is crazy, and if you had won a WSM Title, I'd have you above Tom. x2 Britain's, an England's and a Europe's... Dude, you slew the fucking Mountain! 6. Gary Taylor - I actually feel kinda bad about putting him so low on this list, but he just didn't compete as much outside of WSM and his wins in Wales. Crazy strong athlete though, and always a fun competitor to watch. 7. Glenn Ross - It was terrible Glenn never made World's. He wanted it so bad. One of the worst moments ever was when he actually cried having lost out with equal points during the countback in 2000 to Regin Vagadal. Clearly Glenn winning his own UK's consistently up until Eddie Hall and then two back to back Masters titles in 2010 and 2011, he's a seriously strong guy. That last bit is at least as impressive as Ab Wolders winning the IPF World Masters in 2012 at 60 years old. 8. Forbes Cowan - Think he was more consistent than Glenn outside of maybe his own UK's Strongest Man. He made WSM twice, x6 Scotland's Strongest Man, won WMPC in 1996, and came in 2nd the year before. His performance in World Muscle Power I hold pretty highly and was the basis of placing him above the 10th spot. 9. Terry Hollands - One of my all time favorite competitors. Probably the best bus puller ever, and year after year he looked to be England's #1 hope for a WSM title up until Eddie Hall and the emphasis on static events at that time, and Terry honestly still held his own. He had ups and downs but he was always a great competitor. He's got a Britain's, an England's and a UK's. and you can't knock that. 10. Luke Stoltman - Honestly, I feel like if he wasn't in this particular era, he would be higher on the list and have more wins to go with it. Great athlete, with a Europe's, x5 Scotland's Strongest Man and a Giants Live under his belt. Worth mentioning Ted Van Der Parre was the first defending WSM Champ that failed to qualify after his win over Magnus Ver Magnusson in 1992 when he lost 1993's Hollands Strongest Man to Berend Veneberg which was a great competition and also worth watching if you don't mind it being in Dutch. Gary was just the first to get knocked out in the heats... And in their inaugural year... That had to suck.

In terms of overall influence and the fact he's still much involved in promoting strongman I'd put Glenn ahead of Luke

For the same reason I'd argue Uncle Loz ahead of Terry?

Couldn’t agree more, I’ve always said Geoff was the best, I grew up watching him , even met him once, an amazing athlete and person ❤ did so much for the world of sport and esp strong man 💙

Good video. You should do the same for America. Another year or 2 and Tom will probably be number 1 on this list comfortably

I like Liz's points system. Keeps things reasonably objective.

I like Liz's approach, but I would like it to be a lot more detailed, with points for more placings and not just podiums. And maybe even include records like Eddie's deadlift records. Chances are the list would look more or less the same, only with more points.

Geoff capes top of the list every time... 9 out of 19 international is just epic! Would love to see you to do a masters I think if you done it sooner rather than later podiums and wins await you!

I think 'X Strongest Mans' since it's a plural of 'X Strongest Man' And I'd love to see Loz in a Masters comp, but only if it's right (i.e. if Liz says he's allowed). I will say, with Geoff; whilst he competed the longest ago(?), he definitely had some serious competition with Kaz and Jon Pall, Lars Hedlund, Reinhaudt, Magee, Ab Wolders... Lot of very strong and high quality opposition, at least with World's.

Definitely agree more with Loz in this one. Numbers aren’t everything Liz 🤣

I'd like to see this revisited in 12-24 months. Tom with another one or two WSM + a 505KG dead lift would put him at the peak for me!

Think it's hard to disagree with the final top 3 - all 3 of them have done amazing things that nobody else on the list really matched.

I’m happy with the final list. I’d maybe swap Eddie and Tom but that’s it. . Luke Richardson could def be up there in future if injuries don’t rob him of his prime. . Great video 👍💪
