There are tricks to farm unlimited fade-touched dawnstone(walking fortress), fade-touched siliverite(5 guard), and fade-touched plush fustian velvet(hidden blade) in dlc jaw of hakkon. The first two fade touched materials can be found after defeating rift demons from "rift in the floor" and "rift along river" in the frostback basin. those two are comparatively easy to farms. Remember not to take all materials from the residual. Then when you go back frostback basin next time. It will respawn the new fade touched materials. The fade touched plush fustian velvet needs to follow the main quest " on ameridan's trail ".

Yes, that is true, but you have to close a high-level rift for that. This can be difficult without a functioning build with masterworks(especially if you just reached Skyhold, when Emprise du Lion can be unlocked, so you are around level 10-12 and the rifts are level 20+). So in my opinion, it is easier to farm them on Emprise du Lion(you just have to unlock it and go there, with Stealth, you can even ignore combat completely). But the rift-closing method certainly works too. :)

Some important thing about the Horn of Valor masterwork is that if you use it on a warrior that have this ability upgraded the masterwork will be upgraded too. It's especially good with the Fortifying Blast upgrade that gives the whole party 10 guard on hit, though the other upgrade is also powerful since it boosts your damage by 30% Also Walking Bomb seems to deal damage % based on the ability that activated it, so it works really well with abilities that have high damage in a single hit, like Fire Mine, Combat Roll, Full Draw etc

Also, I love that you give your videos a little bit of story and character.

For versions with JoH: Fade-touched Silverite, Dawnstones, Nevarrite and Volcanic Aurum can be farmed through fade rift loots via travelling in and out of the Frostback basin. Just make sure to leave at least 1 item in the “green gooey” loot bag.

True, that method is also viable, but there the problem is that you actually have to close a few high level rifts. Which can be very difficult for low level characters so I think farming them from deposits is safer and easier. :)

For the tier 3 walking bomb material, you can farm trials reward chest for it after level 13. Just save before you check the box, check it, and reload.

My personal favorite spot for farming Royal Sea Silk (and their fade-touched) is a rift in Exalted Plain. There is a rift in the bottom left of the map, half-surrounded by broken walls. It's first wave consists of corpses and demons, and it's second wave always have a Revenant and a Arcane Horror. As long as you don't close the rift, just leave (cross the green mist boundary) and return, the enemies will respawn, indefinitely. Revenant has a chance drop Royal Sea Silk. May need a few rounds of respawn to get the material, but I find it beats roaming the wide desert of Hissing Waste looking for Venatori (only to get Red Templar instead). And corpses there has a chance to drop Ring Velvet (4-hit-Hidden Blade). Arcane Horror may drop some item too (found 2 staves with heal 1% on hit).

I remember having 5 guard oh hit, on my Knight Enchanter's armor and not being able to die, even when I tried to... That masterwork, alone, makes KE unkillable.

Great video, I like to masterwork anything that let's me stack damage or focus, I have a 10% more focus for every enemy, and my go to is the fade touched bloodstone, especially for a reaver,

Which one? :) The first is the Val Royeaux theme, then I used the Fall of the Magister tavern song from the Trespasser dlc(first the instrumental version then with the vocals) then it's the Scout Lace Harding tavern song from the Trespasser(instrumental version) and then the Empress of FIre tavern song. I finished the video with the french version of the Sera was never tavern song. :)

Love your content! Awesome source of inspiration geting back into DAI. Question: Does the Hidden Blades proc allow for other On hit-procs? Eg. a hit from a Hidden blades proc triggers an On hit-proc that generates guard? Would this be a viable combo for your Avenger champion build?

Yes, it does allow other on-hit masterworks to proc. The only thing that can't proc with it is a duplicate. So two masterwork of the same tier will not work(like two Hidden Blades with 5 added hits). But the same effect will work, if the tier is different(like Hidden Blades with 5 added hits + Hidden Blades with 3 added hits will work). Different effects will also work. So Guard on hit + Hidden Blades will work nicely together. :) My Avenger Champion actually uses this exact masterwork combination. In addition to these two masterworks, "Targets Explode" can also have great use for increasing your crowd damage.

You can gate Fade touched Nevarrite with pull of the abyss in the hissing wastes??? I thought there was just the one you can get in the DLC, been farming that Nevarrite for a long time and I only get 75% explosion damage

Just a question out mere curiousity, but does the "horn of valor" masterwork grant guard? I noticed on some of your solo mage run videos, where your character conjured some buff effect and gaining some guard at the same time along the way. Or did I just misinterpret there something?

Nope, it does not grant guard. My mages get guard from the amulet Andraste's Sacrifice, which occasionally taunts enemies(like the ability War Cry) and gives guard. :)

the part in the video about the grip actually had me questioning. What is the best bow to build? do the lower ranks with a grip out perform the higher tiers?

This might be incorrect, but I think in my game there is something glitches with the 30% focus gain mat. I compared it to wearing the belt that gives focus gain and I could use focus abilities more often while mat doesn't seem to affect it all that much.

Not sure, but as far as I can tell, I never had it. They must have removed it in a patch because they realized that with Barrier you basically can't die.

What's your experience with "apply poison" from fade touched wyvern? I don't think it works. It would be awesome if it did and then also applied the skill upgrades to apply leeching and lost in the mist clouds. But in my testing it doesn't work at all.

When I tested it, it worked for me. I used it with the Whirlwind skill(with the Rising Winds upgrade the poi dmg also increases with each swing). So to me it worked fine, not sure why it doesn’t work for you. I’m using the latest patch with the Trespasser installed.

Does it make sense to put the walking bomb masterwork on a mage? Does the walking bomb also spreads with the spells like energy bombardment or just with the basic weapon attacks from the staff or tidarion?

Yes, it does. :) Especially on a Necro, since that way, you can detonate it manually for even more damage(since you have the Walking Bomb skill). But it works well on the other specs as well. Walking Bomb from the masterwork will be based on the damage you applied it with(not your weapon's base damage): Fire Mine or Winter's Grasp on Chilled targets will create insanely high damage explosions if they proc WB.

do you know how to get additional secondary skill upgrades? cus i only have one upgrade, does it require dlc or something

Thanks! :) You mean two different tiers of Hidden Blades, right? Because the Fustian Velvet will always give Tier 3 Hidden Blades. So you want to combine Fustian Velvet(tier3) with Ring Velvet(tier2) for them to stack. The two counts as different effects(that is why they can stack) so sadly no, their chance will not add up that way. The way it works is that you will have 10% chance to proc each. So the way you describe it it’s like you stack 2 and instead of a 1 in 10 chance, it will proc in 1 in 5 because of the added percentage. Percentages don’t stack like that. So what you will have if you use both tier is a 1 in 10 chance to have the tier 3 version to proc and another 1 in 10 chance to proc the tier 2 version. So you still have a much better chance to proc it, so stacking them like is a good idea. :)

Targets explode: the target will explode creating huge area effect spirit damage when it gets killed. Walking Bomb: The Necromancer spell, without friendly fire. When it procs, it applies continuous spirit damage until the duration expires(or the target dies), when this happens it creates a huge spirit explosion. These two masterworks are very similar. If you combine them together, then upon the death of your target, you will get two massive spirit explosions. This is usually enough to wipe out any crowd unless they are immune to spirit damage. Targets explode can't help you defeat an individual per se, as Hidden Blades would, but it can help you wipe out the rest of the crowd when the target dies. This masterwork is extremely useful for characters who deal massive single target damage but lack decent area effect damage. :)

Just a quick question do you have a suggestion on a route to more efficiently farm for fade touched neverite? I’ve spent hours it feels like going for the same 4 or 5 nodes with no luck. Love the vids keep up the great work

Yeah, Nevarrite farming is terrible, but that is the only way. I usually stand there for hours as well... I usually stand next to one deposit and keep reloading if I am not successful. It should be around 1 in 10-20 chance to find a fade-touched ore, but this one seems bugged and it's like 1 in 500. The only other way is to go to the Frostback Basin and close a Fade Rift - you have one Fade-Touched Nevarrite there: but the rift is very high level so you need a somewhat developed party to pull it off. Other than this, you can always go for Walking Bomb for 75% over time damage and explosion. It is arguably a better masterwork and Lustrous Cotton is much easier to farm. :)

Another great video! I can say have a almost everything in these videos just being a bit meticulous with my run except this one THING 😅 . boy, Can i just say that fade-touch snowfleur is a bit hard to farm? In my earlier run, i was loading it back and forth between exalted plain and emprise du lion, murdering a lot snowfleurs. But I haven’t able to get one, I simply gave up. It left me thinking are they even exist? (Of course they are....I just haven’t seen it with naked eyes yet) sigh.... Would you say patience is the key here? Or any tips? Also, just curious how many hours does it take you for a run? What’s your sequence? Do you skip any quests? Kill every dragon? Care about romance? Decorating, upgrading materials for courtyard and etc? (Im definitely getting quicker each time, the last time was about 120hrs) I skip the shards, claiming the territories, dragon, elven ruins, the desert area without the dragon, the songs i never collect all of them and whatnot.

We are in the same boat with the Snowfleur... I only found one on the Exalted Plains(it was on my first playthrough). Every time I found a Fade-Touched in Emprise Du Lion, it was the Horn of Valor one. I figured it's a glitch in my game since lots of people use Heal on Hit from this masterwork. Depends, really. If I really enjoy the build, I can play around with it for quite a while. I can finish the game pretty fast if I skip a lot(shards, side-quests, camps etc). I think my first playthrough was around 200 hrs. I went with Nightmare difficulty(obviously) and I completed almost everything. For me to consider a character "finished" though, I always feel like I have to kill every dragon, I have to unlock every camp, I have to do the companion quests and all the dlcs. On top of completing the main quest of course. :)

@@tinisnottin True. It took me forever to complete the Wolf Armor set, but I managed to do it and I ended up looking like a badass. I went for the classic Geralt looks, so cutting my beard in every 5 min was a bit annoying. It definitely took 2-3 hour away from my 200+hr gameplay. But I think the longest time I spent on a single playthrough with a single character was with Fallout 4. 310 hrs(not even my Skyrim saves have that high hr count). That is almost 2 weeks of non-stop playing without sleep or anything if you put it together lol. Of course in real life it took me around 2-3 months at least. RPGs can be a "bit" addictive. :)

@@AKisHerceg I had the opposite of your luck on snowfleur drops on my first play through. I got what seemed like an unusually high number of drops (I was frequently low on gold on my first run through, so I farmed snowfleur skins more times than I care to think about), but never saw the horn of valor version! RNG can do some strange things lol. ;)

What metals are you using to get that look with your armor? Silverite?

What is your spec? If Champion, then WB for sure. If Reaver, then I recommend Walking Fortress or Fade Cloak. If Templar, then it depends on what your focus: you wan to be a bit more tanky - go for Walking Fortress. You want your Wrath of Heaven + Spell Purge Combo to hit even harder? Get Walking Bomb. But in this case, you better get a few good Guard producing skills like Livid or War Cry.

@@manzarhasan6846 Your offense will be insane, however, you have no defense. Walking Fortress and Fade Cloak can proc quite often with Dragon Rage, so you can be constantly invincible for short periods of time(DR still drains your health though), which really helps when fighting Hakkonites. If you want Walking Bomb, then Livid and Charging Bull are mandatory. You just need Guard, otherwise you are toast. Maybe even War Cry too. That unless you use the Amulet of Barrier, in which case you are fine.

so what masterwork should I apply for my Archer Assasin? in both weapons and armor. I hope you can respond. second playthrough on nightmare mode.

For either, Walking Bomb or Targets explode is great. Gives a nice little aoe damage. Damage boost if not being hit is also great for the Assassin, just like the faster movement while being in Stealth. :)

WALKING FORTRESS/GUARD 5/GUARD 3 VIVIANNE: FT SILVERITE(GUARD5) ARMOR. FT DALES WOLEN WOOL (30% FOCUS GAIN) STAFF COLE: FT DAWNSTONE ARMOR (WALKING FORTRESS)/ FT SILVERITE (GUARD5) Weapon 1/ FT SNOUFLOUR SKIN (1%HEALON HIT) WEAPON 2 MAIN CHARACTER DUAL WIELD ASSASSIN: FT VELVETEEN (HIDDEN BLADES 3 HITS) ARMOR/FT RING VELVET (HIDDEN BLADE 4 HITS) WEAPON 1/ FT PHLUsh FUSTIAN VELVET (Hidden Blade 5 HITS) WEAPON 2 ON TACTICAL MODE This set up is so lethal MOST ENEMY ENCOUNTER ARE a walk in the park. YOU WILL BE CREAMING them like soft serve. I found this set up when I tried to lay waste against the AAVAR and the corrupted Dwarfes on the DLC only to be smoked so it was a painstaking journey to assemble this set up.

Yeah I wish they remaster that before Dragon Age 4. That way there's hope to properly gettin what you import. I couldn't import the character I made so i relied on the world editing thingy and my warden's morrigan have different dialogue to how it was suppose to be.

Did they change the velvet? Seems it gives me 7.5% focus for each enemy in 8 meters now.....not hidden blades?

That is one of the two possible masterwork options when it comes to that material. Silverite also has two different: either Guard on hit 5 or Chain lightning for 100% weapon damage. Same with Dawnstone, which either gives 5 sec of Walking Fortress or Heal 25% of life over 10 sec. Same with every other masterwork material, they always give two types of masterwork options. If you are lucky, you will get the one you want when it drops. :)

Guard on hit is great for defense, Walking Bomb and Targets Explode is great for aoe offense, Hidden Blades is good for single target offense. (My Reckless Reaver build uses the Barrier amulet with Hidden Blades and Targets Explode masterwork and she turns everything into a bloody paste, you can check out the build on my channel). Recently I have been testing out the "Unbowed on hit"(gives guard per enemy around you) masterwork and despite the fact that most people believed it to be bugged(since the original Unbowed skill turned into the Livid skill later on), based on my testings, it is working fine. You just have to be close to the mobs, which is not really difficult with a Reaver. With your fast Dragon Rage, you can keep proccing it and gain guard. So this is also a good option for defense. Walking Fortress and Fade Cloak are also great if you are looking for more defense. :)

I dont understand, the same material (snowfleur) gives horn of valor and heal on hit?

Yes, but not at the same time - they can spawn as either X or Y(in this case either Horn of Valor or Heal on Hit). Just like Fade-Touched Dawnstone gives Heal 25% health over 10 sec in one version and it gives 5 sec Walking Fortress in another. Or the Silverite which gives Chain Lightning or Guard on hit. Sadly, It is completely random which one will spawn when you get the material. :)

@@Wearableputty No problem. :) Personally, I have never found a Heal on Hit masterwork- or maybe once? Don't remember. They must have done something with older patches that lowered the chance of getting Heal on Hit from those little bastards. Just like with Nevarrite - it is so difficult to farm Targets Explode, even though you are getting it from the right material, but the chance is just so annoyingly low.

So do you think the 'pull of the abyss' masterwork on a walking bomb necromancer is overkill? Cuz I'm enjoying the fireworks very very much hahaha Do masterworks proc with dots btw? I always use energy barrage to get procs and havent really tested dots

Yup, that is a great combo! Targets Explode also a goes well with it. :) Dots? You mean: "Damage over time"? Meaning poisons, ticking damage from WB etc? Sadly no, because they do not count as "hits". They can proc with the original "first hit", but not the rest, since they can only proc when the effect(the "hit" or the over time damage effect like poison) is applied. Skills like the Toxic Cloud is different though, since that is an aoe mist that applies the poison effect over and over as long as you are in it. Unlike the Poisoned Weapons, which applies the effect when hit, and it lingers on the target for a few seconds. And since it is an effect that deals damage by staying on the target instead of "hitting" the target again and again, it will not proc the masterworks.

Nope, they will not stack. :) Same effects only stack if their tier is different: so a Guard on hit 5 and a Guard on hit 3 will stack! :)

Sadly that is not how it works. “Not being hit” means you don’t suffer any damage, not just health damage. So even if you get hit with Barrier on, the time since you last got hit resets - and basically you will never reach the threshold. That is why this masterwork is best for archers, since they usually stay away from the fight and they attack from a distance where they are less likely to get hit(same with ranged mages). So trying to use it with a KE who enjoys being in the thick of things, is not recommended. :)

Well, I only use self-crafted armors, so I can't really say anything about the in-game armors, other than that they are extremely weak compared to the custom-made ones. Sadly, the best armor schematics(and basically my go-to armors) are too few to make a full video out of them. Only 4 schematics to be precise. Here, I will write them down for you: Superior Prowler Armor - for rogues Superior Battlemaster Armor - for warriors Superior Battlemage Armor - for mages These three are unparalleled when it comes to equipment for the 3 classes. No wonder you need the Short List perk and you still have to basically just leave it up to chance that they will show up at the shop on the Hissing Wastes. Additionally, the Griffon Plate Armor is also a good schematic, but you can only get it if you are a "faithful" Inquisitor. That is pretty much it. There are other armors that are also good, but they are nowhere near as good as these ones. :)

@@ShadmehR_23 Yes, they stack if they are of a different Tier(different hit number). Tier 1 can be mixed with Tier 2 and 3. You just can't stack two Tier 2 or two Tier 3 etc. :)

The normal material? You can farm the Venatori in the Hissing Wastes or buy it from the Emporium from the Black Emporium dlc, or the Legion of the Dead camp from the descent dlc.

What happens if the walking bomb is applied to armor it says both applicable for armor and weapon

It has the same effect on armor and weapons. Its explosion is based on your damage, so it does not matter where you use it.

@@AKisHerceg i have an another doubt i have put perfectonist in stone stalker blade which gives 619 dps and used dragon tooth which also was a success and made 619 dps which means i have 2 619 dps dagger should i make another one with hidden blade and 100% weapon damage of walking bomb or let it be? also is armor of dragon schematic tier 4 is good? i m currently having the superior prowler coat tier 3 with some attachments of tier 3 hands and legs should i shift to tier 4 armor for some extra dps or just leave as it???

@@sweetcjcj8503 I almost never use Dragon Tooth and the Essence, because +10% on all stats are nowhere near as good as having Walking Bomb, Targets Explode or other great effects on the weapon. Also, dps is kind of meaningless in DAI because you mostly use your skills anyway, so what matters is your base damage.

@@AKisHerceg im using the cooldown modifier 20% just because of flask of fire + throwing daggars and flask of lightning both are like 32 seconds atleast if i put this it will reduce to 25 seconds maximum

Thank you! I am glad you like them! :) Maybe in the future, I do commentary. The place I live right now, has non-stop noise from outside(singing, children playing etc.), plus my fan is kinda loud too. I really think it would lessen the quality of my videos. I also like this style very much(creating little stories and stuff), I find it to be better than just me talking into a microphone about what is good what is bad. :) Later on, I might do let's plays or something since quite a few people have requested it, so I would definitely need to fix my sound by that time. :)

@@elvenatheart982 It applies the "Beez!" effect, which is basically: a swarm of bee attacks your target. The same effect as the Jar of Bee that you can craft and throw at enemies. It causes continuous nature damage and it can also cause "Panic" effect.

Can you just go to the Black Emporium & buy the fade touched stuff? Great video as usual.

Thanks! :) Sadly, no... too bad though. I would gladly pay a ton of gold for some of those Fade-Touched materials! Like the 100% damage Walking Bomb, for example. It's such a shame that you can only get it at the end of the main story basically.

You are welcome! :) Actually, you don't have to go there(plus it would not really work, since dragons can flush you out of Stealth). If you start clearing out the Red Templar camps, on your way to the second one you will have plenty of Silverite and Dawnstone deposits to gather materials or farm Fade-Touched items. EDIT: Here, I show it in the video at 5:30. :)

Once I farmed for 6 days and found nothing when I was looking for Heal on hit from Snoufleurs. All I got was dozens of Horn of Valors. Then I farmed for Horn of Valor for another build, and and got 2 Heal on hits instead...

So I’m a tempest rogue dagger and I don’t know what masterwork I should go for 😂

You can pick from one of these: Defensive: Walking Fortress, Fade Cloak, Guard on hit 5, Heal on hit, etc. Offensive: Walking Bomb, Hidden Blades, Targets Explode, Caltrops(only if you have the skill and you picked the Immobilize upgrade), Focus gain, Extra focus, etc.
