2012 was one of the greatest years for film in several years. So many good and entertaining films. Life of Pi, Les' Miserables, Silver Linings Playbook, Skyfall, Zero Dark Thirty, The Sessions, Django Unchained, Moonrise Kingdom, Beasts of the Southern Wild, The Hunger Games, The Avengers, The Cabin in the Woods, The Master, Lincoln, Amour, Argo, Seven Psychopaths, Looper, The Hobbit, The Dark Knight Rises, Cloud Atlas, and Flight. Nice list Jake. It's full of original and bold choices. I was surprised to not see Silver LInings Playbook and The Avengers in there, but then, without those two, it allows for a really interesting list. Perhaps the most interesting one i've seen. I like that you are a big supporter of Cloud Atlas and that you celebrate its ambition. Great list.

Why it is a good movie? Because of the journey they went through, the request for Erebor, the discovery of Gollum, the history of how Bilbo found the precious, how Bilbo got into the adventure, how he gets the idea to write the books, and many more to come. Doesn't that proves it is really a good movie? I can't give you specific parts to make it good because its good from starting till ending..Sorry if my English is a bit broken since English is my 2nd language.

2 things about Django is that A. at the time movie makers were killing off the black main characters and Tarentino changed that very dramatically in his, and B. the scene were Leonardo Di Caprio cuts his hand on the glass uses no CGI or special effects. I;m not sayin yo should include all of these, I just want to know if u saw them and/or liked them. Merry Christmas!

Okay, if u say the entire book can fit into 3 hours story, so tell me, which part should PJ cut out? The introduction of the dwalves? How Bilbo got into the journey? Or maybe Radagast part?U see, every part of the story has their own story telling of how they get into the journey, the trouble they face, the appearance of the Riveldell, the elves, Azog and so on. I couldn't see any part that should be left out because they are all related to each other.

Esta bien la lista porque combina películas independientes con películas de autor, diferentes géneros y temáticas. Gran montaje y comentarios, te felicito!!
1. the dark knight rises 2. the avengers 3. django unchained 4. les miserable
You're the man Jake.
THIS right here should be the Best Picture Nominees at the Academy Awards
Cloud Atlas will stay with me for years. I was so moved by it but at the same time I couldn't tell you what it was about.
what about perks of being a wallflower
I would include A Simple Life, The Perks of being a Wallflower and Beasts of the Southern Wild. This was a very good year for cinema and it's hard to pick a top 10.
Great choices! The only new suggestions would be Avengers, Silver Linings Playbook, and The Hunger Games
The Hobbit an unexpected journey?!?!?!
Oh god.. why are you only in my left ear, IT HURTS

Good list. Cloud atlas should have taken the numba one spot although Django is briljant as well.
Gotta agree with you there. Absolute magic! The day they stopped hiring actors who can't sing at all in musicals like the landmark Les Mis, and hire actual theatrical actors, maybe it won't suck as much.
Great choices! I was surprised The Avengers didn't make the cut though.
Hand clap for what you said about cloud atlas the master is in my top 3 for this year
My left ear loved this when you talked.
2 things about Django is that A. at the time movie makers were killing off the black main characters and Tarentino changed that very dramatically in his, and B. the scene were Leonardo Di Caprio cuts his hand on the glass uses no CGI or special effects. This his real blood and is completely improve.
Great list. No Skyfall?
1. CIVIL WAR 2.dark knight 3.django 4.life of pie 5.Inception

if you could list where each movie starts in the video that would be helpful
Pretty much agree with you! I just haven't the ones that haven't even come out yet! :P
Life of Pi is one of the most awesome films ever.
I really like this List, but why no foreign films here? Amour, Therese Desqueyreoux, The Hunt, Laurence Anyways? did u get to see any of these films? And as far as english-language films, What did u think of Beasts of the Southern Wild, The Sessions, The Master, Mud? I;m not sayin yo should include all of these, I just want to know if u saw them and/or liked them. Merry Christmas!
Im sure you've answered this but what about The Avengers? You're awesome tho man always watch your stuff!
i loved all these movies, i just wish i knew how to explain their brilliance 2 my friends as well as jake did
Okay, if u say the entire book can fit into 3 hours story, so tell me, which part should PJ cut out? The introduction of the dwalves? How Bilbo got into the journey? Or maybe Radagast part?U see, every part of the story has their own story telling of how they get into the journey, the trouble they face, the appearance of the Riveldell, the elves, Azog and so on. I couldn't see any part that should be left out because they are all related to each other.
OMGG Cloud Atlas is such an amazing movie *.*
You have a very good movie taste, though I would've included Moonrise Kingdom it is hard to narrow down to only 10
Life of Pi... Amazing, im in love with this movie
watched cloud atlas with my friends they were confused and uninterested which is apparently the norm from what i read it was pretty much one of the most beautiful and meaningful movies i've watched honestly it's safe to say whomever found it lacking or boring wasn't suited to watch such movie in the first place
Great list! Django was easily the best movie of the year. Tarantino knows how to make an emotionally powerful film still very fun.
Me too. They deserve, they were both awesome movies.
I loved Cloud Atlas, it's one of my favorite movies. It's too bad more people don't really know about it.
very cool to see Cloud Atlas at number 2.
Wow, I just finished watching Cloud Atlas. Blown away entirely. Did what I thought was impossible: it dethroned TDKR as best movie of the year for me. Haven't seen Django yet though, but I'm pretty sure it'll become my number three at best (not a overtly fan of Tarantino). By GOD I love the Wachowski's and by even more gods, please Warner Bros, get them to direct the Justice League film!
Your number one is spot on.
Interesting how last year had sooo many excellent movies, but as of now in 2013 I can't recall a single great film I've seen that would even make my 2012 top 10.
11.the cabin in the woods 10.argo 9.killing them softly 8.21 jump street 7.seven psychopaths 6.skyfall/looper 5.marvels the avengers 4.silver linings playbook 3.the grey 2.T.D.K.R 1.Django unchained
Argo was really good. funny thing is i saw the movie on a plane during a delay...
thank you fro putting django in it perfect
Please wait for another parts to come then u will see how firm the characters are..Not only for the 3 mentioned characters but others as well..
No foreign language films? Films like Amour, Holy Motors, Tabu and a Royal Affair were breathtaking!
Personally I'd include Lincoln, Silver Linings Playbook in my top 10 2012. Glad Looper made it, one of the best sci-fi flicks in years! And THANK YOU for understanding CLOUD ATLAS. For me Argo tops, but yet to see Django.. might change my mind.. that Tarantino!
While I respected Lincoln -- and can't really say there's anything particularly wrong with it -- I just didn't ENJOY it. So, unfortunately, I couldn't include it in my list. Thanks so much for watching, though!
I completely agree.
In my opinion 1-Django 2-Life of Pi 3-Argo 4-Skyfall 5-End of Watch 6-Looper 7-Seven Psychopaths 8-Dark Knight Rises 9-Les Miserables 10-The Avengers. Good video though, loved all of the films in your list :)
you should start to do quick movie reviews, it would be awesome
Put on headphones take right side out and turn on volume
Exactly what I was wondering
Love to see dark knight rises and cloud atlas on your list my #1 and #2 right now. Rest of my list for anyone interested. 3. Flight 4. End Of Watch 5. The Perks of Being a Walflower 6. Cabin In The Woods 7. Killing Them Softly 8. Prometheus 9. Ted 10. Looper still have a lot to see like: django unchained, The master, life of pi, the hobbit and zero dark thirty.
My top 5 of 2012: 1- The Dark Knight Rises 2- Django Unchained 3- Argo 4- Life of Pi 5- Looper I might give Cloud Atlas a chance though. It seems to be a pretty unique movie.
Life of Pi should be in the Top 3...one of the most visionary films I've seen. So happy Ang Lee got the Oscar...
My top 5 of 2012: 1: Django Unchained 2: The Avengers 3: The Dark Knight Rises 4: Looper 5: Life Of Pi
probably the most realistic list , i would change dark's knights position to django'w though
with just now finishing django unchained and loving it. Just three left from your list to see seven psycopaths, les miserables and life of pi.
