Love the intro skits and love Ryuki one of my favourite series by far

Really loved Ryuki, it's on my top 5 heisei rider series. Also I'm really amazed on the fact that quite a few of the actors/actresses in the series had previous experience or will have a future role in other tokusatsu shows.(ouja played changerion, raia and tiger played ultraman agul and neos respectively, and the nerdy girl from ore journal became smart lady)

Good work guys, as always! Ryuki was an important milestone in rider history in my opinion: the battle royale obviously the most memorable of all of them. Then there's the fact that Ryuki had 15 rider (12 in the show plus 3 in the movies). It has as many rider as in the whole Showa era itself, if you don't count Tackle, since she's not officially one. Of course the next is the first female rider Femme. Of course the main problem with this many rider is that like 2 or 3 of them didn't have the optimal amount of screen-time, so their character development was close to zero. It was the first with the card motif as well. We can't say that it was executed perfectly, but it was like stepping out of the comfort zone for toei, and they did very well. Fun fact: the singer of the opening Alive a life - Rica Matsumoto - is also the voice actress of Ash/Satoshi in Pokemon since 1996 to this day. :D Also did you mentioned something about a Q&A, because I haven't heard anything about it.

Actually it's just 13, 14 since Abyss was made canon in Rider Time: Ryuki. 10 were in the series proper and the last three were in the movies. Then, Abyss premiered in Decade.

Ryuki was the first rider series i saw of the Hesei era. it'll always have a special place with me.

One of my favorite series in Kamen Rider, it introduce the Battle Royale concept to the Kamen Rider and the Rider Wars itself, although it's kinda disappointing that not all rider showed up in the TV series.

I would agree that it's one of my top 5 Kamen Rider shows especially with the suits and storyline.👍👍

I LOVE RYUKI. It is my favorite Toku show. The sense of panic and desperation, the different riders and their motivations, and the sheer style is what makes this show so good. Its dark and creepy, and it also has to have one of the highest body counts in Toku period. I thought they were going to cop out and say the people taken by monsters were being held captive, but nope, they're dead. It's not that it needs death to be good, but it really raised the stakes and gave it a harder edge that is gone from modern toku. This feels like it was made for adults, and I really appreciate that. Most Sentai and modern Rider have a much more softer approach directed towards younger kids. I was genuinely worried whenever a mirror started to flicker and that sound appeared. This show also had the guts to be bold and kill off every main character, which was a shock to me. It was also so tragic. And though it is just out right explained in the movie, the purpose of the rider was to find the strongest life to give to Yui. I thought that was a great motivation for Shiro because he knew the mirror life would end for her when she turned 20, which brought the time limit and also upped the stakes. In regards to characters, I don't think there are any that I didn't like. Shinji and Ren are great leads and play off each other so well. When Shinji died, I nearly cried watching Ren plead with him to stay. Takeshi is a hilariously evil wild card and Shuichi is so cool and such a dick, but you love him anyway. Raia was a nice ally to Shinji to reaffirm his positive goals. Jun was a good example of someone who is just as bad as Takeshi, but had money to protect him from consequences. Hideyuki and Toujou were good examples of a teacher trying to do the best thing for humanity and the misguided student who took the wrong lessons. Imperor was funny and also a good example about how people fall when they're only loyal to their own greed. Scissors was also interesting as a first example of how riders can die if they don't feed their monsters. Its a good demonstration of how the dynamics in the show work. It also helps give some characterization to Shiro as he willingly gave a card deck to a serial killer because he would fight and kill riders. In all it's an amazing ride and I'm so glad I got to experience it. I was never bored (unlike Jetman) and I'm going to watch Kuuga next. I really love this mature era of Rider.

For those who say Ryuki has no consequences, there are some. In the last time reset, there is no Rider War. Thus, Shiro has no means to revive Yui, but he has come to terms with that. In addition, Shinji and Ren's relationship goes back to being strangers. Side note: Marcus, you might like Yasuko Kobayashi. She's the main writer of the series.

Asakura Takeshi is so evil that he had to steal the contract monsters of two dead Riders and make things worse by combining them along with his personal contract monster just to create an ungodly abomination.

I actually kind of like Kamen Rider Dragon Knight a lot more than Ryuki. At least in Dragon Knight, Kit Taylor and Len actually earned their survive modes since they've been doing a lot of work in the show, and....it does feel more like a two-part drama action kids' show in 40 episodes. But, at least Ryuki knows how to handle character arcs a lot more tham Gaim in my opinion.

The Concept: 4/10 (it would have been higher if they flushed out the rules more thoroughly, utilizing what they established - like reflective surfaces being portals, for example - and had let there be more riders, so they could kill off the cannon fodder ones off screen so we could get to know characters like Verde better. Also, give us a fight in a fun-house damnit. they can use mirrors as portals, being able to jump through mirrors like mirror master would have been amazing!) The Characters: 9/10 (All of them were great except for Odin. He's the reason why the story has a 3.) The Story: 3/10 (Odin was an idiot, there were so many ways he could have saved his sister much more effectively it wasn't even funny. He could have time traveled back before she went to the mirror world, he could have given her the Femme deck and all three survive card giving her immortality - yes, according to the wiki, that's what happens when someone has all three- , he could have given the advent decks to criminals on death row so that he'd have their death added to the make believe counter after they were executed, he could have given them to random people then staged "accidents" like with Tiger, he was so freaking over powered he could have probably just snapped her back to life Thanos style. His ratio of All-powerful God-tier villain/ Dumbass bitch was too lopsided towards the idiot portion, you have the powers of a god you moron, use them effectively!)

Huh. Marcosatsu's review of this show was overwhelmingly negative, and you guys give a positive review. Although, having watched the show before watching both reviews, I have to say that I agree with Marcosatsu a bit more. I found Ryuki to be kinda boring. The show had 12 "filler" episodes and Knight and Ryuki didn't really earn their Survive forms. Kamen Rider Odin just handed the Survive cards to them. If you like Ryuki, that's perfectly fine. I just found it to be a boring, slow paced mess with all of its alternate endings being beyond disappointing to me.

I would have i do have to agree with you it has some good characters (particularly asakura(ouja) and kitaoka(zolda)) and the idea of a survival game between riders is cool but to add to what you say I don't like any of the main characters i.e. shinji, ren and yui ,and thats a big problem

michael deering I do agree with you on Ouja and Zolda, because I also really liked them. It's the main reason I'm trying to track down their R&M and Souchaku Henshin figures. The idea of various Riders fighting each other to the death is a great idea, and there are other Kamen Rider shows that I feel did it better, like Gaim, even though it never took it to the extreme I would've liked. Another thing I don't like is the fact that several Riders died far too quickly, and the Riders that died the fastest had very little personality, especially Scissors. One thing that Dragon Knight had over Ryuki is giving the more short lived Riders actual personalities.

I may have been more negative but Ryuki is still one of my favorite seasons.

Ryuki is a very polarising series. You either understand why it's one of the best KR series or you're dumb enough to prefer Kuuga over it
