Blessed to those compassionate employers who provided ease to the foreign workers. If you take care of your employees, they will be loyal and devoted to you. Happy employees equals to success.

Wow...this is really tough. My grandparents stay in Johor so I go and visit a few times a year. Just that few times of travelling and queuing, I’m already going crazy! It is extremely tiring to go to and fro with the jam and customs queue.

It's very kind of james to think selflessly. He is willing to go through all these risks so that his family wouldnt feel left out when he isnt around one day. If all people could love their family this much and the family stays supportive as well, it would be nice.

Great story. Love the compassionate heart of the boss that created lodging, why not share with other bosses? It helps improve productivity with a small investment where the staff quarters can be reused by other staff - this helps improve the bottom line too. For other businesses that don't have the budget or luxury for staff quarters, why not go back to the old days, pull out a foldable lightweight lounge chair, or mop the floor and sleep on an air mattress or futon in the restaurant after you pulled down the shutter? Think of this as a free security guard for your business for a win-win across stakeholders. Why not encourage staff to quit smoking and use other healthy and free tools such as looking at the photo of loved ones, praying to your God, drinking water, and meditation via a phone app? Work so hard to buy a house then get health problems and cancer from smoking/alcohol, then sell the house leaving your family homeless and taking on debts, prostitution, crime and other unfortunate means to pay for your medical bills. It's neither financially savvy nor strategic. This seems harsh but realistically, life is harsh. Please see this as goodwill feedback and God Bless.

To my Malaysian friends working in Spore seriously stay Spore better, getting sick is no joke..some work dont pay u if u MC.. the food is cheaper than KL if u know how..ask those in Spore ..those at less 10 yrs... Find 3 friends to share rent. next to your work place..you spend $0 on transport! You do the math..u maybe spend only around 200+ more compare those stay JB..but u be more healthy and more time to do your own things

Everyone had to go to work. To avoid working forever, you must learn how to make your money works for you...There are always a good chance to invest cheaply in solid fundamental investments during bad time. Start learning and you will find the good one. Good time will come back again. I am sure you had seen good stocks, properties, gold had fallen from their peak. Don't be silly to ignore them. Grap some and you see the rebound comes back again...

Did his supervisor provide him with the lodging or did he talk to his supervisor about it? Early on he should have talked to his supervisor to find him a place to spend the night at his workplace so that he does not have to travel back and forth. Only go back on his off days. What happens if he met an accident with all that traveling.
