I want to leave fl because people settle here and theres not many opportunities in certain careers. People here get to comfortable. There is lots of construction they keep building and knocking down the woods but its below sea level it will eventually sink if the water levels keep rising. Its getting more expensive too and theres no seasons just heat and rain it gets boring after a while. dating here stinks its materialistic. However my main concern aside from it sinking / flooding is in a actual ww3 scenario or disaster getting up and out of florida would be a nightmare

State to move for affordable house and rent is Indiana (Indianapolis) 2 hours drive from Chicago. You pay more rent in Atlanta just for no reason . Even staying in Atlanta you will be driving to other state in your holidays ( look at the airport why it’s busy people are always flying out of Georgia not coming in ) connecting flights passengers are inside the airport not at TSA check ins

Hi, I live in loganville ga, walton county side and the traffic is horrific. Yes, the highway runs through town but traffic cuts through our neighborhoods. It's so awful and dangerous for us pedestrians by choice. Many people moved away from our neighborhood because of that.

Drivers in the US and in many places around the world have gotten much worse than they used to be! Cops are severely lacking in any training that is professional & positive! In Marietta Georgia we have authentic Cuban sandwiches for 10 or $11 that comes with a side of beans and rice for no extra charge and the drinks are reasonably priced for the times at one to two dollars. Americans need to slow down and drive more safely! The cops name to do their job and pull people over for dangerous driving! They need to stop harassing people for things that don’t even matter! There is no perfect place to live in the US and most of the world! There are worse places to live in the world is in Loganville Georgia!! It could be argued that Loganville Georgia is better than Atlanta Georgia.

I moved to Savannah almost 7 months ago after living in FL for 2 years. I’m still adjusting and making an effort to give it a fair chance. I hate all of the awful things he mentioned about FL in regard to the cost of living and traffic. At the same time I miss Floridas weather and beaches and have considered moving back to south FL.

The Atl metropolitan area recently surpassed Miami, making it the 8th most populous region in the US and largest in the South east. You mentioned the Olympics being the only event to drive the population up, but ATL was already recognized well before. It’s civil rights history, musically ATL birthed and housed many musical talents. LaFace records was founded in Atlanta in the late eighties by music executive LA Reid and artist Babyface. The label worked with talents included but not limited too, TLC, Toni Braxton, OutKast, Goodie Mob, Cee lo, Bubba Sparx, Jagged Edge, Shanice just to name a few. Entertainment including film, music in R&B, Rap, Crunk music, Trap and other genres began to generate and dominate a presence in ATL leading up to now. ATL is second to LA as a major film/TV hub with over 6 major film stages here including Tyler Perry’s studio. Their is always a show, or movie being filmed. Another event in the 90’s that attracted many was Freeknik. I have to disagree with you on restaurant diversity, the ATL area has some of the most diverse catalogues of food ranging from classic American themed recipes to Ethiopian food, you name it and plenty of Mexican restaurants. Specifically Cuban restaurants might be the only one lacking perhaps due to the demand on it, otherwise they have the Carribean sector on point ie..Jamaican and Trinidadian cuisine. ATL had some of the worst traffic in the US, Jacksonville is country(nature oriented) as with most of Florida minus Miami really, less dense and didnt come close when I was there. The only area that I can see with the worst traffic in Florida is the Miami area, the rest of Florida outside of Tampa/Miami is more rural/sprawled and far less urban than the ATL area. This is coming from a guy born in DC, the traffic all throughout the metro region is severe, you are at the mercy of timing that’s about it.

Hey Andres! That’s only about 10-15 miles, the commute will be congested, but should only about 30-45 minutes which is a pretty normal commute for work in metro Atlanta.

I am looking to move to Georgia but not sure where I don't make a lot. I am in the healthcare field and my spouse is in the warehouse industries so our collective income is about 60,000 a year what would be an good area. Not really wanting to be in a big city but don't want to be in the country either

There are literally pockets of country in Georgia. Where your 3 to 5 miles from the suburbs! Sometimes it’s only one to 2 miles! I would probably buy a small house slightly outside of the suburbs! I would buy a 30 or more year old house! You should not just do Internet research but drive through and in some cases walk through a neighborhood you’re interested in. Buy a house with popcorn ceilings and “outdated” furnishings. Because people in Georgia are scared of popcorn ceilings and it will save you tens of thousands of dollars!! You can have the popcorn ceilings covered with planks if you don’t like the popcorn ceilings. You can also save money if you don’t need to live near a school district.

I’m from NYC and I miss the diversity. The only place I get that same diversity is Florida. Miami, Tampa and Orlando. And there is a lot of rude people in GA since I moved and there is really no mixing of cultures here. Everyone is pretty much segregated. A lot of crime as well. The food isn’t the best here either. A lot of fried food and fast food. We are looking at south Florida!

That’s a lie! In Marietta Square they have a great Cuban sandwich!! Made by a woman from Cuba! They have black beans and rice served with the Cuban sandwich for a reasonable price of 10 or $11. The drinks are reasonable prices for the times as well. At one to two dollars! Believe me it’s a authentic Cuban sandwich!
