The ironic thing is that when Brady blew his knee out Belichick replaced him with a "high school quarterback" Matt Castle who never threw a pass in a college game and won 11 games with him. The team was that good with a tuned in Moss they could do that. Missed the playoffs by a fluke. Would have won 14 or 15 that year with Brady but 11 with Castle was pretty impressive.

@chewy98ta28 The 2008 Patriots scored 179 fewer points(11.2 PPG) then the 2007 team and Matt Cassell threw for 1,113 fewer yards, 29 fewer tds, 4 more interceptions, and a 27.8 decrease in passer rating from Tom Brady in 2007 with the only subtractions from the team being Asante Samuel and Tom Brady himself. The 2008 Patriots also had the 5th easiest SOS and were 2-4 against playoff teams while still missing the playoffs and not winning the division. The 2007 Patriots had the 8th hardest SOS while being 6-0 against playoff teams in the regular season. And I just love how you conveniently left out the fact that team that went 11-5 with Matt Cassell was also that same team that went 18-1 and were a miracle helmet catch away from a perfect 19-0 season the year before. That same team with Brady broke every offensive NFL record that season. 18 wins to 11 wins. That's a 7 game drop off. And the great BB couldn't even make the playoffs with all that talent. Also Matt Cassell left New England and went 10-6 two years in a row and made the postseason and was a pro bowler with the Chiefs the following season. They even won the division. He threw 27 tds and 7 ints. So he was a decent QB. You have to put things in its proper perspective and use context and not just lazy analysis. And you can't forget that BB went 5-13 with Drew Bledsoe(4x pro bowl QB) in his first 18 games in New England as head coach. That's the same record as the Colts started with Peyton Manning in Indianapolis who had the first pick in the draft.

@@broderickcrawford8110 You missed the part where I said the Patriots would have won 3 or 4 more regular season games with Brady. You must have BDS (Belichick Derangement Syndrome) where you have the need to give him no credit and you also have a case of BJSS (Brady Jock Sniffer Syndrome) and think he's the second coming of Jesus. Honestly, Brady is a weird guy. A great quarterback, but he's a little weird. Casell was an average quarterback, Bledsoe was a decent quarterback. I wasn't even that complimentary of Belichick as a coach who I'm not that crazy about as a person but more of how good that team was with a guy that got his last start 8 or 9 years earlier in High School. 11 wins which makes the playoffs in nearly every 16 game NFL schedule scenario is a big accomplishment. Maybe I was wrong and they would have went 16 and 0 again with Brady because they were good enough but I just thought it wasn't likely they would repeat a perfect record.
