I wasn't here, but I saw them at the Concert Factory in 1983 a couple of times. They were like nothing you ever heard and everything you'd heard. Really brilliant band that was, like many L.A. bands in the mid 1980s, trampled by the 'hair metal' stampede. Clubs that had long been venues for a variety of bands became exclusively metal, which generally meant 'pay-to-play'. Which was a racket in which the bands actually paid the venues for the privelige of playing. This was justified by how lucrative metal had become, and you didn
