Thank you for a great and funny review. I have this game as a KS backer but, for some reason, it has just not hit the table yet so I will be sure to download that fan-edit rule book to avoid critical hair loss in the future. This channel deserves far more recognition than it currently enjoys and is one of my go-to review sites for games.

The game is absolutely a borefest with 1-3 players. Frankly, 4-8 sucks as well. To much abstraction. There is NO horror element and the mechanics force you to act before you run out of food. UGH.

Yes. I’m working my way through SotG at the mo. I’ve also got a few games to review too, plus work gets in the way. I’ve got a couple of weeks leave in October so they’ll prob appear then 👍🏻

Thanks for a a humorous review. Game does look good, don't think the theme would work with my family. Sorry to hear that the rule book is rubbish, worse that Robinson Crusoe is quite the accolade.

I tabled it once and it was good but not at 4 players I think it needs max players. Rulebook is definitely one of the worst I’ve ever seen for a game that’s so simple

It’s not too bad. The rule book makes it more complicated than it should be.

I love the movie and I’ve enjoyed the game each time I’ve played it, especially the accusation phase. They keep the theme from the film so well. Totally agree with you about the rule book. I’ve also got the expansion but have yet to play that

@@BoardGameBollocks Holy 💩 man your presentation....... I'm laughing my ass off...🤣🤣🤣...but so "spot on" as my New Zealand wife would say. I think you froze my chat comments on your Playthrough.....and yes, the rulebook is the biggest 💩 storm I'v ever seen, truly toilet clogging. Please put a link up to the Rule book helper material. Other than that this Game is the best and kicks ass over the other Thing games out there....oh and please 🙏🏻 do a playthrough of the Norwegian Expansion..... there's no playthrough out in video anywhere, and as you know, the rule book is 💩 (WTF Pendragon), and we have the mechanic of the added UFO and Alpha dog/Alien in the game that I'm clueless as to how they work 😳.

@@BoardGameBollocks That’s right. It’s the prequel and has some different mechanics that look interesting and you can apparently play the expansion and go straight into the main game to play through both films. To be honest I’ve found the prequel film has improved for me each time I’ve watched it

Absolutely 100% on how BAD the rulebook is.

I am happy there is a board game for everybody :p. As for player elimination. It sucks as a mechanic, but in all the games of Nemesis I played so far, it hasn't happened yet. I personally came close once, but that is only because a queen and an alien spawned in the same room I was in, the person I was with escaped and left me behind and I was slimed and had two serious wounds, but did survive till the end.

This is by far one of the worst games I’ve ever played. Complete garbage. There’s nearly no game here, for the most part. When I played, it was a 6 player game , I was the starting thing, and I got dealt last in the turn order. It was decided very early that there was no reason to join someone else in a room. All the unique player powers made it so everyone was basically assigned a room and the was no way I could join anyone else without making it dead obvious I was the Thing.. so, going last for the first 2 rounds (someone grabbed the leader token every single round before I got the chance) meant that all rooms were occupied, couldn’t go into a room without making it obvious, which made it so I didn’t even get to choose the room I went to. For the next 3 turns, I went second to last in the turn order, but the same problem happened.. I had no choice what room I went to and no chance to help on any rooms because everyone handled their rooms with their special power so easily. Not only that, YOU DONT EVEN PLAY THE GAME. The entire game is played out by “the leader”, and even they barely do anything. They pull cards off the stack, then they activate rooms they want. No one else is even involved in that discussion. The little game there is in this game is enacted entirely by 1 person? Who designed this garbage? So, for the 3 hours we played the game and the 5 rounds we played through before the game ended, the entire game was me waiting 25 minutes for my turn, which ENTIRELY consisted of me moving a plastic figurine from the lounge room to whatever room was left, then I handed a card to the leader, then I waited 25 minutes to do that again. There were zero opportunities to infect other people without becoming painfully obvious I was the Thing. If I revealed, I would have been eliminated immediately. So stupid. Most boring and lazy game ever designed
