Second Sight will most likely be cleaning up shots that had dirt and debris that is somehow present on the US 4K disc. It's actually bizarre how much print damage is in this release, as it's the exact same transfer used for the 2014 Blu-ray, which I'm pretty sure was spotless.

The Texas ChainSaw Massacre(1974) is really terrifying and one of the scariest movies of all time

Awesome video! I have the North American release of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre on VHS, so I knew I had to do a major upgrade to the 4K version of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I got the steelbook of it with the poster. I became so happy and very proud to own it. It didn't disappoint me at all. :) Great video! :) Keep up the awesome work you do! :)

Badass! I never realized ”Who will survive and what will be left of them?” was from Texas Chainsaw, White zombie sings the phrase repeatedly in their song ”Real Solution #9”

I've got the turbine release and yes it looks absolutely fantastic. But as I'm from the UK I had to pre order the second site 4k also. As it contains the original artwork from the very very early VHS release from Ivor films back in the early 80s. The second site release looks absolutely gorgeous and I can't wait to receive it. I don't ever usually double dip on films but I will make this a one off exception

I went with the slipcover release over the steelbook, but I also preordered the second sight version which looks to be the best as you mentioned.

I got this dark sky release and it looks insanely good, i don’t need the second sight version i like this version already done right already. Absolutely killer release!

Yeah I probably only recommend the Second Sight version if it's your all time favorite movie. Personally, I, too, am happy with this Dark Sky Steelbook edition.

This looks like a great version of the film. I’ll probably get this one as from what I looked up, the Second Sight release has region locked Blu-Rays and I’d like to actually watch the discs in the set. Though I guess I could get the American 4K Blu-Ray set and get the Second Sight release some other time, but regardless of all that, I’m glad to hear your thoughts on the Region 1/A version of the 4K transfer of Texas Chain Saw Massacre Jeff. Take care!

The German Turbine release has the 1988 doc "Family Portrait" on it, with good info from the actors who played the Sawyer clan (Leatherface, hitchhiker, cook & grandpa). For some reason that doc is hard to come by on disc.

The steelbook is beautiful. I'm so glad I got it.

I knew it was the same transfer as the German edition but I went ahead and double-dipped. I wanted that steelbook and the English-language menu options. I'm not too worried about a triple-dip on the Second Sight edition. I don't care about the book and the art cards. Unless I learn there's a phenomenal difference in the transfer (which seems unlikely), I'll probably be happy with the Dark Sky release.

Does the 2nd disc contain the standard bluray version of the film or is the film only on the 1st disc. On the newest Dark Sky release.

Ready have our very own 2NDSIGHT pre-ordered. Can't wait for their release of The Hitcher. Never seen picnic at hanging rock, so obviously, I'm a little unsure on this title..is it worth owning????

I bought the Dark Sky release -- even after I heard that Second Sight was going to do some EXTRA clean-up on the prints. Oh, well. This is The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, am I right? Why should ANY of us care about some print damage? (I bought the standard edition. That slipcover with the eye and the reflection SHOULD have been the steelbook.)

I will be getting the Dark Cky steelbook since I have the BluRay steelbook and DVD steelbook of TCM. Just waiting on price to drop a few more bucks.

There are two releases by Turbine. One older comes only with SDR. The newer one which I own is probably exactly the same as the US

Do you have a region-b player? I mean the Second Sight version seems to be getting so much hype and I'm just wondering do all these people have region-b players? I don't know I just have like the most basic setup so if I was to get the Second Sight version I'd only be able to watch the 4K disc, kind of seems like a waste. I'm very happy with the dark sky 4K slipcover Edition. I think it looks and sounds great, and I think it's a big upgrade from their previous Blu-ray release. That's just my opinion

Aren't most of the Turbine extras in English with German subs? Also, the new documentary, The Legacy of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, was actually produced by Second Sight Films.

I tempted with the Second Sight release but I wish they would stop printing the film name on the art cards. If we're buying a collectors edition of a film you can be pretty sure we don't need reminding which film the art is from.

Not sure if ill be getting this right away. Already have the blu ray steelbook with a 4k scan. This movie has never looked "great". Its dirty, its messy and kinda adds to the "charm?" of the film. Maybe someday when it drops to 9$ 😉 but i am glad its finally here in the US on 4k uhd.

I'm in the minority of people who actually prefer the remake to the original... So much so that I doubt I'll ever even watch this one again. That being said... I love the fact that it has a 4k release. I want them all to have one...even the ones I don't personally care about. I say keep em coming. Great video as always.

I’m really not loving the Second Sight artwork. It’s just so much RED! Deep down, I’m hoping the Dark Sky disc ends up being the superior viewing experience because I much prefer the Dark Sky steelbook and slip cover artwork over the Second Sight artwork and I’d rather not feel conflicted as to which one to purchase.

Or maybe just one 4k release of A Nightmare on Elm Street, Aliens, The Departed, The Exorcist, Sixth Sense, Se7en, or going a little far afield, Fight Club, or, or, or...

I see they changed Chainsaw to Chain Saw on this steelbook.

I wonder when these companies REMASTER a movie, why is it they don't redo the trailer or clips and post them (IMDb-KZread) with the updated visuals. This movie (TCSM) actually has a remastered trailer on IMDb, but so many 1080p or 4k remastered movies never go through this step to actually help promote the new release. Hey we spent $$$ on upgrading this film experience, but here watch this 240p clip from 40 years ago on a 4k TV. Yes some of the trailers have clips that never made it to theaters or discs, so don't include it, you are re-releasing it, give me something that might actually compel me to upgrade my DVD-VHS copy. Hint 240p--480p won't do it.

I hope Second Site's version is better. In all honesty, if you have the Dark Shy's blu-ray, you don't need to buy this 4K version.

I think their incredible Dawn Of The Dead boxset (which they did their own restoration) is enough proof we can trust Second Sight.
