On WW I and WW II Germany loses in both wars some parts of the country. So in these wars there are a lot of people died, country shrinking, and an economy disaster.

To be more accurate you should include Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland and Luksemburg they'll were part and separated from HRE as Austria

For a certain time it was, it was roman because only the pope in rome would crown the emperor, an empire because it wasnt as descentralized as it would be later and holy because the emperor was considered to be chosen by god to rule

This is one of the stupidest misconceptions out there. People take Voltaire’s quote totally out of context. He said that during the later stages of the empire when it was in decline. As you can clearly see in this video the HRE was one of the longest spanning and most important political entities in history and for large portions of its history was definitely an empire.

@@gamervansh365bmgo5 Otto von Bismarck was the Chancellor of Germany, while Wilhelm was the King. Bismarck served under Wilhelm I, not the other way round. The video is accurate. Also, Otto I was the first HR emperor. Charlemagne had a different title and saw himself as the director successor of Constantine V in Constantinople

@@elyisusking3603 Charlemagne was the first holy Roman emperor in 800. The holy Roman emperor was whatever ruler managed to conquer Italy and was recognized by the pope. It was only when the Italian possessions were consolidated by Otto I and his successors that the title began to start being associated entirely with East Francia/Germany. If history had played out differently the title of Holy Roman Empire would’ve been associated with West Francia/France or even Lotharingia or Italy would’ve been an independent kingdom. That was just how Carolingian politics worked but I bet if you went back then and asked someone who was the first Holy Roman Emperor they would say something smart like Augustus/Octavian but they would quickly follow up with Charlemagne.
