I remember humming this song to myself after spending yet another year alone with depression. I was close to choosing the easy way out that year but something about this tune gives me a warm and positive feeling of a better outlook and future. I met the love of my life a few months later. OMG, my dad died too last October. I know what it feels like. I am so sorry.

Recently, a former teacher of mine has passed away. He was not just any teacher, he did a lot for the school and the students and made learning in general more fun. Even though he was sick, he never lost his optimistic and humorous outlook on life. I hope, he is happy wherever he is now. Thank you, for this wonderful rendition of Auld Lang Syne. As I listen to Auld Lang Syne, my heart feels like it’s being wrapped in warmth by the soothing soul living in the song ❤

I remember when I was in primary school the school had a competition to see who in each class could recite Auld Lang Syne in the original Scots the best for Burns night. I came runner up in Primary seven and I was so proud of myself. While this sounds amazing is nothing like hearing it being sang in Scots.

I never learned the lyrics. But it speaks to me. Like a foreign language that just makes sense. Happy 2023 my friends. Maybe you all be truly happy.
