I had the privilege of attending one of the 25th Anniversary concerts back in the early 1980's, which featured all of the members of the Temptations over the years, including David Ruffin and Eddie Kendrick. A truly magical experience.

To all those dissing this lineup, as you age....go sit yourself down and rock until you take your last breath. That's what you insist these great men do. I am grateful they kept the music going, entertaining me into my later years. They sounded wonderful. It was their time. Live your memories but no need to put down anybody. These guys, the 4 Tops' The Delfonics, the Manhattans, and the Drifters were the ones who displayed absolute class, even through the utmost adversity.

What a excellent blend of soul and talent.

The Guys gave a lot of Marines, great motivation to get back from Viet Nam and to live again . THAT WAS JUST huge! JOHN

Don't know where you live, but I grew up across the border from Detroit . These songs were the soundtrack of our lives as well. I can remember music playing everywhere during the summer - pouring out of the shops, cars, and homes, people dancing in the streets, what a time it was we were so lucky. Thanks Detroit, for giving the world some of the best music that ever was!!!!!

60 minutes of pure Motown!

More than any other group, my adolescent life during the 60s and 70s was influenced by the Temptations' s music. Songs such as Ball of Confusion"; "Cloud Nine"; and Papa Was a Rolling Stone," mirrored my lived Black experience, adding structure and meaning to my life in the "ghetto." Uplifted and hopeful, I left the 70s, embarking on my quest for self-fulfillment with the wind in my sails, inspired by the Temptations' sweet harmonies and driving rhythms. Their tunes are preserved in my library of 78s, a collection that will pass to my grandchildren when I depart this life for the next. Thank you Temptations for cruising through my life with me

@@razzledcroaker3678 I actually got to see them in concert last year after I had written my initial response. Yes, there is one original member who I believe is 84 and still amazing. They really put on a great show. You'll have fun! I cover "To Proud to Beg." My own upcoming single "Integration Education" to be release early next year is a tribute to the soul groups of the '60s. Most of my songs are more acoustic, though.

Can't and ain't nobody gonna do what these guys has ever done with music. A 1 in a million talented group and Love these fellas.

Music that will never die. The Temptations will always be great.

I agree that the Temptations and The Four Tops were very classy. Oh, what great entertainers!!!. I lived through this era. No one can match the music of the 50' s and 60' s.

MY FAVORITE MOTOWN GROUP-THE TEMPTATIONS...THE BEST!

Growing up in Detroit back then was music paradise. Every single week another group was throwing out hit after hit, and it became expected and adored. Every generation gets theirs, music constantly evolves, but I honestly believe this love was the very best.

Rest In Peace Dennis Edwards, Melvin Franklin, & Richard Street.

The Temptations ... there is absolutely nothing they cannot sing with greatness. The Temptations name is associated with spectacular harmony and precision choreography. 🍾 🥂 🍷

Always classy, smooth and polished, one of my all time favourites from out of Motown. Never change stations when the Temptations come on.

May the Temptations always be remembered and held up as the number one group of entertainers of the world. We who have lived during this period in time who were privleged to or blessed to witness their greatness either in person or through their recordings must acknowledge that all especially the original members were some of the greatest song stylests in every vocal range that they would use. Blessings to all of them Paul, Eddie, Melvin, David, Dennis, Richard, Ali, and a special Thanks to Mr Otis Williams for putting and keeping them in our hearts and minds forever Temptations. Always loved these guys. Ran out of superlatives back in the 60`s.

This is what you call a total package. Artists now are better known for their back up dancers and lip syncing. These are true stars.

Im so glad to have had the chance to see the original Temps in Denver in the 60s that group was supper bad RIP

Love every single member of the Temptations. I could never say which of the singers are my favourite performer. RIP to all.

Old Man River shows off their awesome accapella harmonies. Most of the tunes in this concert take me right back to 1970-71. I was a an east coast guy hitting the west coast for the first time, thanks to uncle sam. lol Temptations on the radio, cold coors in hand, and cruising pacific coast highway 1. Who needs a time machine, when we have music like this to take us there.....thanx for the post and memories.

Probably my favourite line-up.

I envy you greatly sir! As a 21 year old, I can get incredibly sad knowing that Otis is the only original Temp still standing and that I will probably never see the current Temps performing live. Especially during these harsh times. I must've watched this concert about 20 times now, and it never gets boring.

Otis Williams you are glue that held the genius fabric assembling together the greatest show the world has ever experienced. When the Temps needed a voice to speak to the human heart you stepped to the microphone and laid the rap down. I hope these words have been a blessing.

It's 2022 and I gladly got pulled back here by a comment. It's better each time. I now understand why wine tastes better with age.

I grew up knowing when The Elgins first started 1960 BKA The Temptations still watching and listen in 2019 no other has come close to the performance of these talent men. Thanks onemediamusic for sharing

There was no week link! Every voice, every move, every emotion personified by the whole. It was just human feelings. No mention of race. It was that we are all alike. We all experience the same feelings. They brought everyone together. Boy, could we use them today!

I need to rewrite my earlier comment what I was trying to say is : The Precision , The Timing , The Sync , The Steps , The Professionalism was still there & displayed with the help by none other than Mr Otis Williams proved that The Temptations were The Best Group on. The Greatest of all times

That whole era of motown had so much talent it is amazing. Berry Gordy was a genius business,talent scout. And Smokey such a great writer. I was not even born at that time and I don't believe there will ever be such talent as motown in the 60s.

I love their energy!!! Their hits are off the charts.

"Ain't nobody coming to see you OTIS" ... Funny line from the movie... But people Will keep coming to seeing Otis because he is the last surviving member of a fantastic vocal group! Temptations forever!

I played in the band for six years, I. Know when you miss a beat. I was in modern dance for three years. I know when you miss a step I was blessed too March in the Macy's parade, still televised today I thank my parents and teachers, mentor's Much respect taught me too know the best

They open the door to greatness in R&B music. A group gave us so much in real music that reach the heart of the matter. In love music, just a jam and made us all dance to the groove of the Temptations. A SURE WINNER IN MUSIC ONE OF THE BEST. A TRUE CLASS ACT OF GREAT ENTERTAINMENT.

They are the best group of all times. They will never be duplicated, because they are the best that came through Motown's, bar none!!!

This is the era of music I love the most. Performances were lifetime memorable. A concert made you feel like the world's troubles did not matter. Subsequently, in addition, these guys and others...their music is responsible for a lot of babies back then. Haha.

Dennis Edwards had a Beautiful and Strong singing voice. I met The Temptations when they came to Cleveland, Oh back in the day 1994 or 1995 when it was called Gund Arena. Mr. Edwards were so kind and sweet to me, and when he died my heart was broken. Rest In Peace Mr. Dennis Edwards you are being missed he is singing with the angels 🎶🎼😇❤️.

Sure, the original Temps are matchless, and nobody could argue that, but these three, minus Paul, Eddie and David, are holding their own. They still can bring it!

Temptation were one of my mentors, I know every song they recorded and Lou Rawls recommended that I audition for them when David Ruffin left. One of the Best Vocal Groups Of All Time In My Time.

Amazing performances, not enough adjectives to describe how their faboulous and praise their individual talent! I was very young, however, my brother introduced me to ALL The Mowtown Greats! I was into the Beatles, The Jackson Five, Beach Boys. I was drawn to their soulful sound, studied Arts throughout college, as my minor, while earning my medical degree to serve some of these amazing gentlemen. Thank y'all for making my life complete!
