    LOL been there and done that a few times in WA... Gotta break that seal in the mud, I find tilting the bike back and forth as much as you can helps a ton. Been stuck so bad in a mud lake bed, had to push the bike over and drag it sideways out of the mud lake. You'd try to pick up and be over knee deep in the mud yourself, was a nightmare!

    Can you make a video on how to get traction on wet rocks or tree roots, in general I find myself needing help from someone pulling me for the front tire or with a rope and I kinda feel bad being the one slowing down everyone and having them help me get up a hill or me getting tired super fast into the ride and because I’m so tired of fighting with the bike that even when I make it up on my own I barely able to stay on my bike and I can’t help them like they help me thanks

    Balance (and body position) clutch and throttle control are huge. You probably use your clutch way less than you should be to control wheel spin and engine rpm.

    I’m 63 and have done numerous competitive events over the last six years on four different WR450’s and I’m so tired of wrestling with the big thumpers that I have ordered a brand new GASGAS EC300, “on Rich’s glowing approval of the model” for all upcoming competition. The big bore 4strokes will be used for recreational purposes only, going forward…so to speak.

    Most if the time there is room to find inches. The same techniques are used to get unstuck no matter the lack of momentum. Obviously there is a point where lifting you bike is required but 99% of the time I see riders use there strength over technique. Technique trumps all.

    Coordinating all the controls is a bit like playing drums, with each hand and foot having its own thing to do. It actually may be harder because right hand has two things, and if you count holding-on and steering, then three for the right, two for the left. Also, holding on and steering require power (gross motor skills) while clutch, throttle, and brake require finesse (fine motor skills) ALL GOING THROUGH THE HANDS. It’s easy to forget about the feet with all that going on. Just like the drums, nothing but lots of lots of practice will make all this coordination possible. Waitaminute… does this have a connection to the intro music??

  • @IRCTireUSAMoto

    @IRCTireUSAMoto

    Hahah…. I may or may not have been a percussion major…. The coordination is exactly like playing the drums. I may or may not have recorded all the parts of that intro myself.
