When Julie was a student in my high school English class not so many years ago, she was bright, articulate, and smart. As Dr. Hasson spearheading her innovative and uplifting "Chalk & Chances" initiative, she is brighter, more articulate, and so much whip-smarter than the earlier version of herself, having transformed through willful learning and even more willful teaching. I am honored that she is carrying the torch for teachers in a time when so many forces are dimming the light. Shine on, Julie!

Thank you for sharing these wonderful words of wisdom, and for all you are doing in the field of education. "They consistently leave an impact because they are intentional about that impact. ...They have this long range vision and they don't get caught up in the day-to-day stuff...they're too busy prospecting for our potential..." Love all of that. Great teachers don't teach subjects - they teach students.

This video hits the nail on the head! I wish I had watched this when I was transitioning from teaching. It's easy to make these mistakes, but being aware of them can save a lot of time and frustration. Well done!

Actually, I don't care if the students remember me or not, but I do care whether they understand and retain what I taught them or not. Generally, I find that if they understood the content they remember me anyway.
