    So Mun Nan abandoned his family? He might have done better to return in a rectified way.

    As the title said ‘dare to do’. My guess is that she will dare to do something new and healthy for herself and her family. This may have been a blessing of sorts to empower her to move forward with inner strength and grace. I’m not familiar with the Japanese culture of spirituality. I imagine she would have seen that this master has given her husband a new and better chance at life. Just a thought. 🤷🏼‍♀️

    Once upon a time there was a guy who lost all his money gambling. So he liquidated all his assets - his car, his home, his wife’s life savings, his own life savings and borrowed all the money he could. Then he went back to the tables and won big a won all his money back and ton more. Have you ever heard that story? No, because it never happened. Gamblers like that always lose and if they do win they go back and lose it all again. They never tell the tale out of shame.

    @@EricDaMAJ That is LITERALLY the story of my gambling coach The G.O.A.T. Because of him, I LITERALLY held $10,000 cash in my wallet for first time in my life. Losers talk, think losing. WINNERS think, talk winning

  • @EricDaMAJ

    @EricDaMAJ

    @@SerpentStar_ It's likely he lied to you. Keep gambling and you'll lose. The odds favor the house by design. Like gravity, they don't GAF if you have a "winning mindset." If you want to be and stay a winner, learn how to invest in stocks or buy real estate. $10,000 in a wallet ain't nothing compared to $1 million in assets bringing in $80,000 a year (after taxes).

    like what the other said in the comment, this is a wonderful story, it has meaningful thing for us to learn but the thing about Mu Nan never return home to his wife and children is something that I'll take lesson on, since what he does is abandoning his resposibility to actualy work and full fill their family with joy and happiness

    The real moral of the story is "if your going to change, never turn back." Otherwise if you do, then you haven't really changed. All you did was take a break. Thats why he never returned. Because he feared he will remain the same and continue to harm his family. So he did it for them even if it seemed cruel.

    So the man deserted his family? I don’t understand. At first he was consumed with his own pleasures and then he left his responsibilities behind to pursue another selfish desire. It’s as though he never cared for his wife and family at all. I must be misunderstanding this story.

    That was my initial concern or question as well. So this individual. Upon meeting a Buddhist monk. Realizes the error of his ways. In order to atone for that. Decides to follow this Buddhist monk. For the rest of his life. What about the wife, and I do believe there was a mentioning of children? I understand, they were (his family) were not well off when he was around. That just exacerbates the problem. Also, a lot of Buddhists teachings are about non-attachment. That takes it a step too far honestly 🤨
