Quick note: the timer isn’t a limit on how long you have to kill her but how long she has to kill you. The spell card ends when the time runs out

Wait but...what's the difference? Those are two different ways to say the same thing. If she's got a time limit and then you die after thats over/she leaves when its over, thats also your time limit to kill her, isn't it?

I believe what was happening was the timer was how long the spellcard lasts, and if you deplete her health in that timespan you get the extra reward of the bombs and the half red/soul, while living until the timer runs out just ends the spellcard with no extra reward.

The indomitable will item makes it so every other hit you take is a holy mantle hit

As a Touhou fan this was so nice to watch, and while explaining the items would be good, I'll only explain the boss fight in this comment Doremy Sweet appeared in Touhou 15 as the 3rd boss in that game; there she's the ruler of the dream world, a world that only people can exist via dreams aka the place where you go when you sleep in a very short way While there's not many info about that realm in the lore it also serves as a link to teleport to Gensokyo, the world where Touhou exists; so the cutscene more like being abducted you can sya is like a reincarnation to another world (something I love about it, cuz Isaac deserves better in lore ; - ;) And a bit of technicality about Doremy's whole battle, some attacks like dream catcher and ochre confusion are similar to attacks she uses in the main game as well (although with different names) and the red line of where the enemy is is something present in most touhou games to also know where the enemy is to shoot it

The Buddha's Stone Bowl is honestly bordering on Quality 4. What it effectively does is activate a Holy Card _every time you take damage._ In short, you only take damage once every two hits. I wouldn't call it the most broken item in the mod, but it's certainly up there.

If you think about it numerically it's essentially a wafer since it's voids half your damage taken, though it would also stack with the wafer too

As one of verifiably like... Idk 4 Touhou fans in your audience I'm so excited for this video EDIT: Shiiit I had seen the Reverie mod before but this one's also insanely cool! That character you fought was Doremy, who manipulates dreams, and ALL of those patterns are combinations of Isaac patterns and Doremy's own patterns. Insanely cool stuff. I can't believe they made the bouncy laser Dream Catcher spell work in Isaac. Seriously impressive

I would love to see you revisit this mod, the Music themed boss is very difficult but also very fun. Theres also a character that revolves around dying in different ways to buff yourself up that can be accessed by killing the red and white butterfly in the starting room.

This is one of the craziest mods on the workshop but most of the items are totally unbalanced so I don't use it. Mad respect for the creators though.

Mattman I'm curious. Did you know that if you're going up the accent any item in the item or boss rooms that you didn't take will be revealed (unless you get curse of the blind on the accent). This includes previous blind items. This means that if you don't take an item on the alternative floors but go up the accent you will see both items. Another thing I wonder if you knew is: Did you know that any item room that you skip will still have the item in it when you're going up. That means that you can skip items for planetarium chance without losing an item, unless you forget to go to the item rooms that you miss. (Knowing you that's very likely to happen)

Really hope you play around with this mod more, it's probably my favorite both from a Touhou fan standpoint and because of just how many items it adds!

I think Buddha's (as in the heavenly dude) Bowl resets whenever you get hit. So on hit you regain mantle, which blocks the next hit, rinse and repeat. Which I think pulled *weight* in that last fight. Everyone else has mentioned it, but I'll admit that I did just as much to point out its use in the final fight and to point out pronouncing Buddha as Bud-duh is hilarious.

Lmao sorry but I cannot believe you just called Buddha "the heavenly dude" like he isnt the one worshipped entity that *doesnt* reside in some sort of heaven and is instead absolutely down here with the rest of us (as much as you can consider him anywhere) I wouldn't call myself a Buddhist by any means but I am super into Buddhism and that kind of karmic study and given that I'll tell you what that put one hell of a belly laugh in me, I appreciate that 😂

The icons you pick on the floor when fighting the final boss are completion marks, and then the fight is themed around that mark :) so knife=mother, brimstone=mega satan, etc

Here’s what the roukanken is and means,roukanken or the literal term, the watchtower sword is one of two blades used by Youmu konpaku,the other one is called hakukouken or the white tower blade and it’s from a game called the touhou project, and the description means “The rights to the fistula can be granted.” and in case you’re wondering the fistula is an abnormal connection between organs!

Seeing so many other endings to Isaac, its heartbreaking to see a boy at such a Young age be tormented like this. Especially with the game’s canon ending. He’s already gone but now he gets to live a whole Nother life in a place better than where he was. He’s been through so much through his own head and finally, he gets to be happy.

honestly you should do more of this mod (I'm totally not biased as a touhou fan) there's a lot of other cool stuff to find like the music final boss and the playable characters

the way the bowl seems to work is you get hit then you dont, after that hit that doesnt hurt you it'll reset and youll get hit again then you wont

as a touhou fan, i just wanted to say- the timer is just a "survive" timer, and the rewards spawned (i believe) is supposed to be the perfect reward for when you don't get hit!! ' side note: ive been following this mod for like, a year now and it feels so surreal to see mattman playing it... please play it again sometime, i'd love for you to see what all the cool new items do :3

I’ve been watching you play Isaac for so long! I finally decided to pull the trigger and buy it on my switch, it’s even more fun to play it than to watch it! It’s definitely a struggle to not have crazy items yet lol, but it’s been about two days and I just beat moms heart for the first time, definitely gonna keep playing :)

In that mod are 2 swords, one give you runes, other give you an active of a cool sword (Also, are an ítem in the devil pool give you school ban, lucky foot, mutant spider and other 2 objects i forget)

For anyone who didnt understand the dream catcher thing, it changed the boss attacks based on the symbol he chose, with the symbols being the check marks for the televant boss

With that mod, if you wait a little time in the starting room, the red butterfly will convert into a doll, if you touch it, you will play as a special character. And if I'm right, there is another boss, if you clean the entire firs floor, and then you go into the treasure room, another item will spawn, you need to collect 15 in game musics to unlock a boss that appears as a snow globe in moms heart

I just remembered an extremely underrated item for hush fight. If you could charge the blackhole while fighting hush you wouldnt need to be preocupied with the tears at all (please try it, im begging you)

As someone who used this mod and knows touhou, him not understanding how the bowl or the sword works (if you dash through enemies by pressing space again, it gives a charge (so you can pretty much use it every room))

So the indomitable item blocks every other hit, effectively doubling your health, max health you can have is with maggy’s birthright at 18 hearts, meaning that from full health you would need to take 36 hits of half heart damage, or 18 if you don’t have the wafer on the later floors. Add items like infamy, bloody penny + swallowed penny, gimpy, curse of the tower + pyromaniac, etc. You’ll be effectively impossible to kill.

Of the playable characters in this mod, I think you'd enjoy Seija the most, as she's basically Evil Mattman (i.e. screams upon finding The Poop) And there's also a couple of secret characters with maximum rigging potential (hint: look for something unusual in the starting room) Also also, there's another superboss that can be found by: * Finding a secret item in Basement I's treasure room after hearing at least 5 songs * Beating Mom's Heart/It Lives in Womb II and standing on the new thing that spawns immediately afterwards

The will item that gave mantle works whenever you take dmg. If you take dmg you get a mantle then when you lose the mantle next time you take dmg you regain the mantle.

Holy I have a feeling that this mod is the reverie mod that I have mentioned long ago I myself have looked for the mod and couldn't find it I bet that this is it i remember seeing the same ending in the reverie mod oh mat continue with this mod there might be more items and bosses that you have missed you have unlocked the best ending in my opinion and play some of the characters that this mod has to offer trust me you wouldn't regret it there is tainted characters also

That bowl thing probably saved him so many times in that last fight and he didn't even understand that he was basically invulnerable to every other hit. Combine that with wafer and you're basically invincible.
