I am not against hunt, on the contrary i think that in certain places it's essential to maintain balance. For example where i live we have way to many deers and without predators they start to literally destroy the woods by scratching against trees and end up "killing" them. However I don't really see the point nor the necessity in hunting big carnivores to be honest

@@AlanRedrew Every species has a population goal set forth by that state's DNR based on their scientific studies. I'm all for supporting legal hunting and the fees it generates to continue to study, maintain, and enforce sustainable population goals for each state. To your point about overpopulation, too many predators can do a number on deer population, and push the herd to nocturnal thus hunters can no longer hunt deer. Also if you don't hunt predators they lose their natural fear of humans and folks that live way out in the country can become snacks, them and their livestock. Therefore i am all for legal / fair chase hunting.

I couldn’t agree more. One thing, probably THEE thing that turns me off to most hunting shows is the scripted drama and over dramatization to drag a show out to its full time slot. Anyone that really hunts knows a lot of hunting can be mundane. Do as these guys do, touch on it, filter it , and show the hunt and results. It’s refreshing, like telling the story over the fire. Not a bunch of Kardashian-esk drama made up to try and make things bigger than life. This is a quality show.

Cannot comprehend anyone giving a negative thumbs down for Steves video. Hunting on this level requires a high level of Fitness and a deep understanding of Gear and how to use it if the elements turn against you!! My hunting goes back to Wisconsin small game in 1970. Was very good hunting squirrel and Ruffed Grouse with my Marlin Glenfield 60!! Since then my experience has been in Mountains. Too many fish to fry to get back to hunting although with my olde mountain buddy have talked about the Blue Grouse here in Colorado. We know where they are and the .22 is the ticket NOT Shotguns!!

I always wanted to hunt Alaska. As a young man I didn’t have the time or money to go. Now, I have plenty of time and the money, but I’m too old to be able to withstand the rigors of the back country. Bad knees and back from years of working my way up the ladder kind of negates the whole reason one works so hard. I don’t regret working hard and raising a family, I just find it ironic that when you finally are in a position to do all the things you wanted, time has claimed the body. I still hunt and fish a lot here at home, but the chance to do these spectacular hunts has come and gone. It’s still nice to be able to go vicariously , through shows like this. Anyone wanting to do this should set aside a slice of time and work toward it while in their prime, don’t wait too long and expect to be in the demanding physical shape it takes when you retire. Staying active in the outdoors is one thing, this is next level.

Still wish they made every episode an hour long, so we could actually get a sense of what the hunts were like. Instead of getting 20 minutes of a 2-3 day hunt, an hour allows for much better communication of what actually happened, the mood throughout the hunt, better sense of the timing of different milestones on the hunts, etc.

@@okd_v these bears he speak of aren’t garbage bears living in town.. I live in central B.C. aswell and I could literally go for a drive up some logging roads 20 minutes out of town shoot a black bear, throw it in my truck and be back for morning coffee at home.. that’s why I don’t even really bother with them, they are so easy I almost feel bad.
