Maybe I'm crazy but I would think that genuinely is the more merciful thing instead of like 1 shot to the head. A jedi might survive some ridiculous shit like that so better safe than sorry with causing pain. Just empty a mag and at least you know the person would be dead no question

Apparently there was a super sad deleted scene at one point where Aayla sensed danger and turned to put herself in front of her men to defend them. That’s when they shot her in the back.

Not really since Fox was trying to arrest Fives not kill him.

I actually like all of these clones, to be honest. I love Bly's goal-oriented outlook and how it's not even about the Republic, it's for himself more than anything. I love Wolffe's badassery and non-chalant attitude. He also just seems to do literally everything, no real specializations, he's just good at like everything. It feels Mary Sue-ish, but I could give less of a fuck just cause he's so damn cool. I love that Commander Fox doesn't play around. I think he'd be liked a lot more had it not been for him being stuck on Coruscant in TCW. I don't think he deserves as much hate as he gets.

The Fox hate always was kinda over the top. With his only crimes being killing a fellow brother consciously and arresting Ahsoka, not killing, mind you. Besides that, him harassing the Coruscanti civilians is so under utilised in most of the lore and show. The only times we see the CG in the show, they're either just peacefully standing guard at a civilian protest, hunting down wanted fugitives, or protecting Republic structures and politics.

Being a soldier means that you still have a sense of loyalty to whoever you serve & leans towards following orders rather than disobeying them. Wolfe's mindset is more like that of mercenaries, combatants whose loyalties ultimately lie in themselves & acted by & large in accordance to their own code, following orders only when necessary, & of course, VERY eager to get into the fight & shoot something.

If you plan to do another video of this, that would be amazing. And if not on commanders, then why not other clones? Like Jesse, Fives and Echo?

Fox had every right to arrest Ashoka as she it appears that she killed a suspect and she also decided to run away after being surrounded by dead clones. Fives died because he decided to aim a pistol at Fox.

It's crazy how Fox takes the blame, even though Barris committed an act of terror and blamed it on her *closest* friend. No one is upset about that. People are even mad at the Jedi Council, but everyone seems to forget that Barris was the one who put everyone in these situations. It's also crazy that people are mad at Fox for shooting Fives after he told him to surrender and Fives grabs a pistol. Then, he aims said pistol at his brothers who are trying to just bring him in.

I hate having to defend my opinion of him being my favorite clone just because of what happened in TCW. Everyone likes Anakin for the most part but don't seem to be upset that he kills children, that's become a meme even, but when a genetically obedient clone follows orders from the most powerful person in the whole galaxy and shoots a mentally unstable clone that had aimed A PISTOL AT HIM he's the worst creature imaginable. I think people just want a scapegoat to throw all their hate on, just like they did to jar jar in the prequels

@@williamsundbaum6652 It’s just a bandwagon thing. The two big trends, Jedi hate and Fox hate. People will have next to no reason to hate them, but just hate them. There are some people in denial about that stuff too. Fox isn’t my favorite, but I like him, but most people I know are like: “fuck Fox! He’s an asshole for killing Fives!” And I just sit there scratching my head, especially cause it was such a black and white scenario and there’s no room for interpretation. I was speaking with someone else in the comments and they tried to tell me Fox didn’t give him a chance to surrender. Then he told me Fox would’ve shot him regardless, and I had to remind him of the situation and to stop being bias. Then he tried to convince me he wasn’t biased.

I like to think the reason Fox was so… him, was because of how close in proximity he worked with Palpatine. All the other Coruscant Guard we see are really dedicated to their mission, whereas Fox is seemingly dedicated to Palpatine. What I mean to say is, I think there was some sith mind-trickery going on.

I can picture Howzer, Fordo and Jag being next in line.

Next you should do a few Jedi. Not the widely known ones like Anakin, Yoda, or Obi-Wan; though. Maybe Oppo Rancisis, Quinlan Vos, Shaak Tii, and/or that one old Jedi who helped Ahsoka get her lightsaber back (I'm blanking on his name right now.)

:( I feel like you did fox dirty by not mentioning the shit he had to do when Coruscant was invaded by hella forces. Didn’t he develope the guilty until proven innocent mentality because he was betrayed twice in the same conflict? I also thought Fox’s inhibitor was altered by palpatine, like you know those huge Star Wars books that try and break down the tech and show you the parts? Well the books talk abo it how the Coruscant guard and the red guards had inhibitor chips, but I guess now it’s only clones but all clones.

Ngl fox is my favorite commander and I standby his Decision to shoot fives. Fives was thought to be an unstable rouge clone which had attacked people before. I mean fives grabbed the blaster he had it coming coming.

I guess i'm in a minority here, even smaller than the ones who like Fox. I actually have no objections about him gunning down Fives. Guns are not toys, you point at someone when told, ORDERED to stand down, you just gave every damn reason for the other guy to shoot you dead. Fives brought it unto himself. I didn't like Fox for very simple reasons. I just don't like trigger-happy legalist bullies. Whether he gunned down Fives or not, there's no denying that he's always looking for a reason to shoot someone, combatants or non combatants alike.

@@FalconWindblader though Fox had a fair reason to shoot Fives it wasn't really Fives' fault as he was drugged.

One of the greatest things about this lore channel is that it actually provides commentary and thoughtful analysis instead of straight up regurgtitating the wiki page.

Commander Fox is awesome. His actions are Justified.

I think Fox gets a lot of unnecessary flack. Killing Fives was a blunder, but he was just following orders and protocol. And Ahsoka was set up really well, anyone would have suspected her for the bombing and the killing of clones in that situation.

I wanna see this series for Seperatist leaders!!

All of the clones (save for a few) turned against their Jedi and killed them because of the chips in their heads, not because of their dedication to finishing missions. Rex was the closest clone to Ahsoka and still tried to kill her because of the chip, but when it was removed, he was fine. Also, the "quick" death Bly gave Secura was more of a firing squad to turn her into soup.

What I’m hoping for in part 4: Commander Keller - A clone commander that took after Bacara. Willing to get the job done and was willing to put an entire town under marshal law to ensure his job was completed. Commander Deviss - A clone we should have gotten more of. He took after Commander Bly and was more of the same. He was skilled at leading and was a tactical strategist. He was also extremely loyal to the Republic. Commander Thire - a clone we don’t talk about enough. He was a CG officer who would have taken after Fox, but worked with Yoda and was shown a new way of thinking. He was loyal to the Chancellor, but his mindset was changed by Yoda

We need some kind of mini series (like 7-10 episodes), in each episode of which we will observe one clone-commander personality, behaviour, fighting skills, etc. We would see how different each of them. For example, series could show us how Wolf took a bit of Jedi philosophy under Plo Koon’s command; how Gree had genuine interest in other species’ culture and his effort to broaden his horizons of knowledge; how Fox was ruthless in executing orders and his behaviour to prisoners; show us Neo’s “cold-bastard-genius” personality and action in fight. Rex would be excluded because we already saw much of him, instead we need Cody.

After you finish analyzing the clone commanders and their morals, I think you should do the same series with the Jedi!

i'd add a possible origin to the profile of fox not being a soldier or a police man and also a legalist in the fact that he was a soldier trained for war stuck in a metropolis were support for his kind by the public died really fast. I support the idea he would've been a great commander but got in charge of a really bad job

That's what i felt too. Unlike the 2 legalists talked about before, legalism in his case is more of an acquired thing than an inherent one, a means to an end. He got so damn fanatically legalistic cuz in his case, it's that one reason that allows him to find something to shoot at all the time.

@@FalconWindblader this whole Fox is trigger happy doesn't seem to come up a lot at least in stories. I haven't read all the comics and novels but from what I've seen, Fox just acts like a stern commander who's loyal to the one man all clones respect above anyone else. Besides that he's not shown to be actively picking fights with civies while his men just follow orders like any other clone.

I like that you upped the audio on the Battlestar Galactica clip in this part because it was so low in the first appearance.

It is really sad to see someone so scared to credit someone for their art, that they'll remove all comments and conversation surrounding crediting said independent artist and the work that they put into their craft.

Like it's said in the video, his ultimate loyalty lies with his completionist tendencies, anything else, friendships even, take a backseat. Unless he somehow develops a sense of morality around that time, he'd still just stick with the army. The case with Aayla Secura is more 'doing a job' than 'gunning down a friend' after all.

“Wolfe and Koon” sounds like a South Park episode

I think wolf did execute order 66. In rebels, when kanan reveals himself he instinctively opens fire on him. I think even tho he removed it, the affects of him following through with it are burned into his mind, still affecting him.

I like Fox, I think that in the most situation he couldn’t choose what he wanted to do. Before he killed Fives he was talking to the Chancellor ( Palpatin ) that probably ordered him to kill Fives. And when he was hunting Ashoka and blaming her for killing his brothers, that was just the only thing he could think of, Ashoka was the only force user in the prison, plus the cameras didn’t pick anyone else with the force. So it was understandable of him to blame Ashoka, plus he never had a jedi general, so he doesn’t have a connection to other jedis as other commanders do.

You paint of very bias picture of Fox yes he is a stubborn man ,but he cares about his men. When he finds Ashoka over his dead troopers he gives the order to shoot on sight because of the evidence he sees. He shot Fives because Fives had picked up a pistol and fired not wanting his own men hurt. We don't know much about him to be honest. Nor any of the commanders to be honest expect Cody, Rex and Wolf more than the other Commanders.

i agree, fox is simpily overhated because he followed orders. ppl tend to forget that he didn't chose to be the one to have to work directly under palpatine. and that he also has done several good things. like helping padme who was captured. and palpatine most likely would have had bad concuquenses for him if he let fives escape, who did indeed pick up a blaster, and did not stop after several warnings.
