David Light, MD is a fellowship trained, board certified plastic surgeon with a dual practice, focused on breast reconstruction and aesthetic surgery. While most of these cases are diagnosed in women over the age of 50, the disease can affect women of any age. Early detection is critical to survival, yet many women are not familiar with the signs and symptoms of breast cancer.
We advocate the importance of self-breast exams, what to look for when performing a self-exam, and when to see a doctor. We provide resources for women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer, as well as for their families and friends.
The five-year survival rate for women who catch their cancer early is nearly 100%. Here’s an important statistic. Many women do not perform self-breast exams or see a doctor for regular screenings. Learn Look Locate LLC wants to highlight the work of organizations around the world that are working to promote early detection of breast cancer. We will feature stories of women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and share their journeys.
