The Superiority of Milrem's Type X Robotic Combat Vehicle

Ғылым және технология

The Type-X Robotic Combat Vehicle or RCV is an innovative unmanned IFV that has been designed to fulfill the diverse operational needs of armed forces across the globe. Milrem Robotics, an Estonian company that provides robotic solutions, is working on this vehicle with aims to decrease the number of soldiers present on the battlefield. The vehicle is designed to perform missions in hazardous environments while keeping warfighters out of danger.
Design and Features
The Type-X RCV has a contemporary design and various features. It follows a modular design approach with open architecture, allowing it to be adaptable for multiple roles by integrating improved sensors and other components. The vehicle has dimensions of 19.6 feet in length, 9.5 feet in width, and 7.2 feet in height. The Type-X RCV has a weight of around 12 tons, which enables quick deployment to combat zones. It will work alongside main battle tanks and mechanized units on the battlefield while decreasing reaction time. Its lightweight design also enables airdropping by parachute or under-sling transport using a heavy lift helicopter.

Maybe we will see robots versus robots and then Robots versus humans lol. Seriously though, It makes sense esspecially if it’s remotely operated and not self enabling like it seems to suggest in the video 😮

Just legs will never be used unless for something very specific which I can't even think of... Small robots they climb trees like a gecko? Now... Legs with wheels as feet? Yes. Seen someone trying to make a vehicle like that . Could climb when needed by extending different jointed legs. Boston dynamic robot, Handle, that uses a similar principal but was more impressive as it was just two legs! I don't see a two legged anything happening because four just adds so much. Which sucks as I want mechs fighting each other! Armored Core!

Legs are slower and less efficient than tracks. Legs are only advantageous on machines that must access spaces designed for people. Elsewhere, tracks and wheels are always superior.

Relocating or disguising the "Sensors/Cameras" would be the first thing that should be done if the US Army plans on using these in battle. Especially since the design is known globally, everyone knows of its "Weekpoints"! Just aim for the "sensor array" and it is "dead" in the water...

Still as is overall i love it but like anything always room for adapting and or improving. Its also sweet estonia right next to russia slava ukraine

Estonian Defense companies (Estonian Defence and Aerospace Industry Association) are still some of the world leading companies in EW technology (and anti-EW). You can find Estonian EW tech from prisons around the world, to different military bases, and even in modern fighter jets. So I doubt they will have a hard time keeping up the paste with EW technology developments. As the main enemy from the Estonian perspective is Russia, and they do not have access to most modern EW technology, then I don't think it will be a big problem. Definitely one hard solution that has currently been taken, is that the Type-x only has a range of 3km from the driver (if the steering mode is active), this means that it will be hard to jam from a source far away, and has to be generally close to the battlefield, aka - it can be picked out by the tanks or IFV that it is supporting.

the main funders in the start were always the arabs, but this was and still is in form of VD investment, (meaning that they are just investing in more-less 10 different startups at the same time, in hopes that at least one will exceed, and make their money back.) When they saw the increased sales and developments, of the company, they increased their investment, by buying up more company stock, this is what you probably mean (what you saw on the news few months ago). Milrem can always increase the amount of available stocks and drop the price, leading to less ownership over the company by outer investors. The company is still led by Estonians, using Estonian engineers and mostly other Estonian companies.
