I agree with this entire timeline except for Galaxy 1 and 2. While Galaxy 1 is in a good spot on the timeline, the placement of Galaxy 2 is incorrect. Galaxy 1 ended with the world about to end and then Rosalina had to reset time. So everyone went back to before the events of galaxy, and Galaxy 2 starts, as you can see by Mario waking up in a field and going to the same star festival, because the star festival only occurs once every 1000 years (if I remember the amount of years correctly.) So Galaxy 2 is the actual one in the timeline, while Galaxy 1 was erased from everyone’s mind, except for Rosalina’s. This is shown because Mario and Peach don’t seem to recognize Rosalina after beating Galaxy 2.

Well technically it still happened before Galaxy, Think of it like this. If something happened at certain time lets say A and then the black hole that killed everything happened lets call that B, after that the lumas sacrificed themselves to restart the universe in a different way lets call that C, except it's not actually restarting, A still happened then B and C happened, but C didn't actually make everything go back before A, it just made it happen again except it happens differently

I feel like it'd be kinda lame to say that the events of galaxy one basically didn't happen. I didn't take it as a reset, but more as a restoration. Like how at the end of Bowsers inside story the kingdom gets put back together. Is it that unrealistic to think a ruler like peach wouldn't throw a festival early? Also, considering Rosa is a space goddess thing, it wouldn't be super out of place to act weird whenever she shows up on the scene.

I personally think the timeline spilts just for the Galaxy games, either one could have happened but the second game doesn’t take place right after the first.

I have a good idea for a new Mario game: After Mario defeats Wario in Super Mario Land 2, Mario recives a letter from Pricess Daisy telling him that the evil Space Monster Tantanga has invaded again Sarasaland but this time he are not alone because Bowser helped him to rebuild his spaceship but this time its more bigger and powerful than ever, Tatanga kidnapp Princess Daisy to make her his queen once again and he locked she inside of her pyramid which can only be opened with the eight golden magic scepters which has been stolen by Bowser in the differents kingdoms of Sarasaland,they also distributed the scepters between the Koopalings. The scepters gives the power to influence the mind to whoever possesses it, knowing this the Koopalings took control of each habitant of sarasaland causing them to take hostile behavior against Mario. Mario to find out the whole situation ask Luigi, Peach and Yoshi to accompany him to the odissey ship to travel to the kingdom of Birabuto to stop the evil plan of Bowser and Tatanga. This game could be a hd platformer.

Okay... But *_WHY DOES EVERYONE PLACE YOSHI'S ISLAND DS AFTER PARTNERS IN TIME?!?_* It doesn't make sense!

In Partners In Time, when Baby Bowser fell into Thwomp Volcano, Bowser had no idea who Baby Bowser was, and he always called him, "Little Dude." In Yoshi's Island DS, Bowser knew who Baby Bowser was by saying, "How dare you treat past me like that!?"

Commonwealth Realm Not to bust your amazingly voiced bubble, but you forgot Wrecking Crew and Donkey Kong Circus. These two come before Donkey Kong the game. Wrecking Crew takes place on the same construction site as Donkey Kong, where Jumpman Mario (not the Super Mario of the mushroom kingdom) faced off against Foreman Spike (father of the two bastard sons Wario and Waluigi, two different mothers). After being fired, Jumpman ended up with the circus and later becomes to “trainer” of Donkey Kong. After being burned so many times, Donkey Kong takes his revenge leading to Donkey Kong the game. Thing is, this Jumpman Mario makes more sense as being the father. Then after the words the events of the yoshi island games.

@Michael Klump Ohhhh, so there's ANOTHER Mushroom Kingdom in another planet! Great... No that's bullshit, every Mario adventure that wasn't on space happened in the same planet, including the arcade games (those happened in New Donk City) The globe of Odyssey doesn't say the names of others pre-existing kingdoms but that doesn't mean they aren't part of the same planet, heck, even Isle Delfino appears as a tiny speck close to the mushroom shaped continent (The Mushroom Kingdom). Sarasaland could be part of the Sand Kingdom or it could be a little island that we can't see in the globe, the same with Dinosaur Land. You could say that the BeanBean Kindgom don't make sense but remember that it's frontier with the Mushroom Kingdom, so it's part of the mushroom shaped continent. Oh, and the DK island is really small, so we can't see it in the globe again.

In Yoshi's Island DS, they still can't even walk yet. Plus, Yoshi's Island DS and Partners in Time were made by different people, so it shouldn't matter if baby Bowser wasn't shocked to see his older self in DS. Not to mention that the personalities of everyone in Yoshi's Island DS aren't very accurate, especially for adult Bowser

After this conversation, I talked to numerous people on their opinion, and they think that Partners In Time is definitely after Yoshi's Island DS, despite the one insignificant thing about baby Bowser. Such a small little detail, between games from different development teams who probably didn't even communicate with eachother, does not determine which one comes first in the timeline.

This is a fantastic timeline, I must have watched it 5 times!

Things you missed: 1) Bowser was a corpse possessed by King Boo 2) The "stalk" thing must be a metaphor as that is not how people reproduce 3) The Mushrooms are parasites 4) Bowser is manipulated by the wizard guy 5) Several of the games are shows or books therefore not Canon 6) Many timelines 7) the stars on the moon are Helium3 And INFINITE more.

Nice one! I just love Super Mario and his cast of friends and foes.

I thought it was already established that Jumpman (from DK) and Mario are different characters. The current DK is either the son or grandson of the DK from the original game (who is now called Cranky Kong - it's still unclear because one game says son, but Tropical Freeze says grandson, meaning DK Jr's son). It's common in fanon to say Jumpman is Mario's father. Of course this hasn't been confirmed, but I'm pretty sure Odyssey confirms that Mario and Jumpman are not the same character.

Akaihiryuu77 Nope, Odyssey completely confirms them to be the same person. Miyamoto himself has even said that Mario, Jumpman, and Mr. Video are all the same guy. It makes sense; apes age far faster than humans, so Cranky Kong could’ve easily become old between the original games and his introduction in DKC.

You guys know this series was never meant to have an official timeline right? You can literally put any of these games one after the other and they still make sense.. just enjoy them as they are, different adventures with the same heroes just for the fun of it!

Even though Bowser is the king of the koopas (Paratroopas, Lakitus, Buzzy Beetles, etc) Yes yes, the goombas are part of his troops now, but whatever happened before that, Bowser was not their king.

King Boo and Big Boo are different people.

I think Peach rejected Mario because she was just overwhelmed. Besides, after being dragged around the world for a wedding she didn't want to be part of, I don't think she wants to think about marriage for a while. It's not that she isn't grateful for his help, or doesn't care about him. She was just exhausted from that drama and wanted to get home.

Wait, So you guys consider Mario RPG and the Mario and Luigi games to be part of the timeline but not the Paper Mario games?. I supose that makes sense, considering that the series ranged from Pop up, Comic, Pixel, Sticker and Painting Books. I like to think that the Paper Mario games take place in the same universe as the other Mario games and that the Paper counterparts in Paper Jam were just a gimmick and a miss Opportunity for fan service.

No, they do. It's just the fact that those Paper Mario and regular Mario don't really interact together besides the event in Paper Jam.

Diamond Beau. Well, considering that Paper Mario constantly makes nods and callbacks to various Mario games. I asumed that the Paper Mario Universe took place in the Super Mario Universe.

I actually believe that Rosilina or another character who knows lots about Mario wrote it, then lost it after the second Galaxy game, until it was put in Peach's Castle.

Well cappy technically is Mario’s hat right? I mean it was ripped up into shreds and all the other hats Mario bought are only possessed by cappy unlike the normal hat which “ is” cappy himself... idk maybe the luma that stole Mario’s hat in galaxy 2’s credits might have returned it later I honestly don’t know what will happen

Jumpman from Donkey Kong is not the same Mario we know today. The timelines wouldn’t line up as Cranky Kong is pretty old now and Mario doesn’t seem to have aged a whole lot

So maro currently has a castle and occasionally will come and help the mushroom kingdom out. I presume luigi has his own mansion and occasionally visits mario.

I think that those take place after Super Mario Odyssey. Mario and Bowser give up on Peach ever being interested in either of them, so Mario focuses on building a successful toy company and invites his old girlfriend, Pauline, as the mayor of New Donk City to be at the opening. DK, meanwhile, escapes from the 8-bit world that Pauline trapped him in and is enraged. He kidnaps Pauline but this time, out of revenge for the way she treated him, imprisoned in the 8-bit world, and still in lust for her. Mario, once again has to save Pauline from DK with the help of his Mini Mario-Bots.
