I used super glue to fight off a grizzly bear. Glued myself to his back and he ran around the forest trying to buck me for 3 days before collapsing from exhaustion. I then crept stealthily away. Thanks Inventor!

It's a variation of pmf... It's pretty strong... Definitely stronger than an active leak... My primary concern in the contraction with temperatures...

There are so many different things that he makes and fixes that I am unable to keep up! I guess the best thing to do is save all of them until I run into basically any problems. Makes me wonder though, how would it work with fiberglass mesh? Or even carbon fiber mesh? You know, before it’s been soaked with hardener? I’d love to be able to make some crafty stuff with actual carbon fiber without having to pay a fortune for it. The raw fiber sheets aren’t too expensive.

Well if you use a mesh I would still just use an epoxy it's extremely strong ,I think way harder than Cyanoacrylate

@@DreStyle yeah, you’re probably right. And the fact that such mesh is quite pricey, I’d really hate to screw it up with damn super glue and ash. It was just a hypothetical question anyway, so no chance (yet) of any trial and error!

In another video, or two, he uses cotton, and it's evident from the smoke coming off that there's a chemical reaction happening. Here's a video from a PhD in organic chemistry on "how superglue works" kzread.info/dash/bejne/Y5yNk8yyd7HgedI.html At 6:06 in this link is "the first step of a nucleophilic chain polymerization reaction" ...but long-story-short regarding adding baking soda or ash or cotton or whatever: it's the CARBON which acts as a nucleophile -- an electron donor -- which causes a chain reaction in the superglue to create polymers. So in all likelihood, any mesh material with carbon would probably suffice in causing the superglue to undergo the chain reaction of making polymers. You don't need "carbon fiber", just fibers with carbon ;) What kind of crafty stuff do you have in mind? And what size of projects? My concern would be the cost of using superglue and mesh instead of.....well.....something else. Also, I don't know how easy it would be to file/sand/shape the polymerized superglue versus epoxy. I encourage you to experiment on a small scale with it and let us know what happens!

I use a lot of super glue and I never put a lid back on after use,I use a little piece of marking tape on the opened end after use and then just pull this off when you use it again, works every time
