That's not how it works, dummy. The evidence must be a sample that has be tested to show the exact presence of the doping, he smash the sample, which in the context is an illegal sample because the testers didn't bring correct authorization, that's a fact. However, there's a stupid law saying that even if those testers don't have correct authorization, there's nothing you can do, that's just stupid. If a police doesn't show a badge when arresting you, you have the right to self defense. Get real, kid. The ban is not because he took doping, the ban is because he violated the law of not complying with "testing officers", despite these officers brought no authorization.

Germany and Russia were always thought to be using substances. The US track teams also. The logical thing might be to just have zero testing. Otherwise, IMHO, it is naive to think, even though some athletes are found in violation, that there aren't others doing similar. So, it just becomes a thing where a "doping agency" can make testing strategy subjective and there is potential for bias in the organization. This despite what I'm sure amount to "written rules", "bylaws" that, in theory, the doping agency can present itself as unbiased. So the doping agency can literally control the outcomes because they know many are doing it. So, the doping agency can be used as a weapon against "some" athletes. The doping agency can now be used strategically to go after your competition. But of course, they are unbiased, and represent a puritan organization. You may as well drop all testing, save the time and energy and money, and see what happens. People would dismiss this idea but they believe the naive....the fairy tale that the athletes at the Olympics aren't using things. The fact they would send unknown people without documentation to someone's home is very concerning. It shows there is a level of underhandedness which means you couldn't trust the validity and reliability of any of there testing on other athletes as well. When the Olympics banned the Russian flag and made the ridiculous move that "Russian" athletes could compete under some sort of neutral "non Russian" flag....the entire thing started to seem biased.

Umm every athlete gets tested a lot it's normal. Because people cheat and they find new ways to test for drugs. So even though Sun Yang has passed drug test after drug test he will continue to be drug tested. Just like Michael Phelps. Even Usain Bolt passed countless drug test and they still drug tested him. @@DavidJohnson-dp4vv you missed the point, Sun was tested more than 200 times, as stated that's way more than others would normally have, frequent test is normal yes, but incessant testings out of the norms that need to be questioned and Sun was fine to be tested that many times, but his argument is about the credibility of testers, after that many time your blood was withdrawn, how do you think you would feel? You can't just let anyone take your blood for the sake of taking your blood just because they are claiming to be testers, you would want to make sure that those testers are credible and make sure that each sample is not wasted, otherwise another "credible" tester would void his sample and request for another blood sample and will keep on drawing blood incessantly.

I mean there may be some misunderstandings on procedural differences when the international test is out of competition yet conducted in China. But man that court broadcast was a clown show.

Not only he's a cheater but with arrogance and bad attitude as well. What an embarrassment.

Some swimmers are just full of prejudice, particularly when they lost. Their showing off was only demonstrating their ugly inner discrimination. It also shows that world-class swimmers actually can have little brain.

WADA disagreed with FINA's decision and lodged an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), which accepted the case and held a public hearing in November 2019.[10] On 28 February 2020, CAS delivered its findings, overturning FINA's decision and banning Sun for eight years for tampering with the doping control process.[11][12][13] The CAS clarified that Sun (the Athlete) would not be stripped of any of his medals because "doping tests performed on the Athlete shortly before and after the aborted doping control in September 2018 were negative" and "in the absence of any evidence that the Athlete may have engaged in doping activity since 4 September 2018, including on the occasion of the FINA World Championships in Gwangju, South Korea in July 2019, the results achieved by the Athlete in the period prior to the CAS award being issued should not be disqualified."[11][14] On 24 December 2020, the Swiss Federal Supreme Court announced its decision supporting Sun’s appeal, revoking the CAS’s eight-year ban and remanding the case to CAS.[15] On 22 June 2021, after the retrial of the case, the CAS upheld the ban and reduced the suspension time to 4 years and three months.

@@hus390 This does not mean, he is not a cheat. He could have been taking a fast-acting recovery drug, out of his system in 24 hrs. Yes, there are drugs like this. For example, the go-fast heart drug he took before? Out of your system in 24 hrs. OK, so no actual evidence he did take drugs. But there is evidence he cheated, preventing a proper test, and the only reason to do this, is he was worried about being caught. Its all moot. His career is over, will never swim again.

the tester who did the sample is unauthorised and unqualified so Sun have right to do anything with it broke it didn't mean he is doping. despite all that he was cheater or not his swimming Technique and style in 1500 are amaizng and smooth

He was willing to do the blood test but then he realized that the people who came to do it did not have proper license or accreditation. So he refused to let them take his blood samples away which I think is absolutely reasonable.

Sun Yang's case is a reflection of how hypocritical and double standard the west world behaves when it faces the challenges from the other cultures. Sun Yang was tested far more frequently than the swimmers from Australia but nothing solid found to prove that he doped , though Australia has a bad record of doping. Then they blame of his stupidity for not obeying the unqualified flying check. He is never perfect but Sun Yang is no doubt one of the greatest swimmer in the world. Be shamed those who tried so hard to undermine, intimidate, distract Sun by the pool.

The testers didn't appear, since they had mistakes. this is very obvious. Sun Yang is a human and he can't have his mood being stable 100% of the time just like all of us can't! This is purely politic and being jealous about Chinese can also be Olympic Champions as a professional swimmer. Sun Yang is very talented and hard working. Once he retires, we will have to wait for years and years for Asian to have a swimmer like him.

People think he got banned because he doped whilst in reality there's absolutely no evidence to suggest that he doped and the only reason he smashed vials was because they were taken by unqualified personnel who weren't sent by the doping commission. @@ramenkage8878 he got banned because he was avoiding scrutiny. He has tested positive to a banned stimulant which later was reclassified as a banned cardiac modulator substance back in 2014. How the Chinese can come on social media and support him representing their country is weird..... Drug cheats here are a disgrace and should be stripped of medals, sponsorship and forgotten about.
