I once went off sugar for a week and had more energy and felt less hungry. When I tried to eat a cookie again it tasted horrible, very artificial, even though I've always loved cookies and sweets. But I got used to it after a while. It's crazy how our taste is damaged by constant refined sugars.

Stay away from added sugar for a long time and natural food tastes so much better and then processed food tastes terrible. However, if you eat more of the processed food, you quickly forget that it was terrible and have to keep eating. It is designed to be like that.

The reason way is because we build a tolerance to sugar. The more you have, the less dopamine is released in your brain. So it doesn't taste as sweet and good.

Sugar is literally a drug. Withdrawal from it is like a heroin addict going cold turkey. Sometimes people have to be hospitalised when they stop eating sugar because of the sugar crush. Sugar suppresses leptin which tells us we are "full". It's no wonder food companies have added it to almost everything. Consumers are being treated like feed lot animals, fattened up for profit.

Completely gave up on sugar 15 years ago. No sweets , candies from the store. No stevia or other crap either. I gave up on processed food altogether and I pickle my own vegetables. When I need something sweet I eat a fruit (rarely occurs) . When I bake a cake for someone in the family I use raw honey from our bees. The less sugar you eat, the less you feel that need for sweets. It's hard getting away from sugar addiction. Sugar is messing up with our brain in ways that we can't even imagine.

@Daniel Welch And yet a sugar crush looks for all the world like the withdrawal symptoms of a drug addict. A person on a high sugar diet sometimes have to go to hospital with a sugar crush if they abruptly stopped their sugar consumption. Like Jennifer Ellison on the reality TV show "Sugar Free Farm". Why? Because the body can not make its own glucose anymore. Someone on a low sugar diet or a low carb can make glucose from the liver in a process called gluconeogenesis. This mirros the problem for a heroin addict. The body makes its own opiates but for a heroin addict the body can no longer do this. Thus the withdrawal symptoms. At the end of the day, sugar is a dug, a very real drug and one which kills more people each year than illegal drugs.

I am surprise that they did not expose more about those artificial sweeteners. Aspartame is bug feces, and it is known to cause a great deal more physical harm than just causing extra pounds. Artificial sweeteners cause brain cell death. The key word is "artificial" I use stevia. It is a plant. It naturally has zero calories. I have never had an urge for more sugar from using it. It also has other beneficial qualities for human health. Look it up.

We don't have to consume sugar at all. Our body produces glucose on it's own from most stuff we eat, because every cell needs that stuff to live. People need to get off the artificial sweetness. Once your taste goes back to normal you don't crave it anymore, because normal food starts tasting sweet enough again, in fact i can hardly eat fruits now because they're often too sweet for my taste lol. Of course people fail when they try to bs themselves by using shit like artificial sweeteners.

I’ve had yoyo weight loss and gain and I lose weight quickly when I’m strict and also I can gain quick. I’ve been at my lowest 60-63kg for my height and body with heavy bones (no I’m not like those who say I’m thick bones and obviously they’re obese or overweight) and I’m tall with long limbs. And been at my heaviest in my mid 80s but I don’t look it with my height and heavy bones I look less than I weigh. I’m just about to start my strict diet to aim for 63kg even though I look sick my I feel great and I’m obsessed with numbers I wouldn’t even mind if I was in the 50s and I used to be strict on myself due to my 2 autoimmune illnesses and herniated disc in my back stopped me from my 8km walks and withdrew from gym bcoz of my back pain getting worse by the day. I stay calm, and be careful with weighing myself non stop. Despite my health issues especially my severe back pain won’t stop me going on a strict diet and 8km walks everyday I don’t blame anyone except my 2 falls which caused me to be the way I am now even though I look healthy chubby and I feel normal I’m not heavy on my feet don’t have much of a waist fat which is great but I’m determined to go from 84 to 63 💪🏻

Just the names that you mention make me feel sick. Stick with it and things will get better. Every time you think of sweet things, think of them as terrible things that are bad for your health and will make you sick. Imagine feeling sick to your stomach. Do this for 2 - 4 months and you will lose your feeling for junk food. Also, skip the aisles at the supermarket with junk food and sugary drinks, those are the evil aisles. Any sugar hit will put you off your goal. After you succeed in getting off sugar, and you feel it as a bad thing, you'll be able to have the occasional sweet thing without the urge eat too much

This stuff truly is cruel. These incestuous, globalist corporations seem to make more off of selling us statin, viagra, insulin, and unhealthy food, rather than the meat and fat that we need. This is not a fault of business or capitalism, but of conspiracy and immoral, if not illegal, monopolies. It's not genuine when all the companies keep eating each other.

But they don't teach you how each macro nutrient makes your body react hormonoly. 2 people of equal weight can eat the same amount of calories and it would be a mystery why the other is losing more than the other. Carbs are so bad for you if you are trying to lose weight. I had to read through a ton of research, from scratch, to discover this information on my own. Don’t blame artificial sweetener for your own failure, no matter what age you are in, you are responsible for your health management and control what you put in your mouth. You just can’t help but giving in to your constant craving to sweets, the real solution is curb this craving and gradually remove all packaged sweet refined snacks out of diet.
