Loving the look of this new district! One thing I did notice is that the end houses with the side doors, you've put hedgerows right against them, perhaps just set the hedges back just a fraction and pretend there's a footpath alongside? For a name, perhaps something like Providence Gardens (PG for short) 😉

I can't agree more with the others, Blightea-on-the-Wold is one of my favourite series and it looks fantastic (but I could be bias because I am British), the planters look great, but could do with a few benches and bins, maybe one of our famous red phone boxes somewhere on the corner, other than that, I love the houses, and the fact that they're colour changeable, the kiddies park looks really good with easy access as it's in the middle of the estate, not sure if "no parking within 10 meters of a junction" really applies, but there are a lot of people parking on your T junctions, not sure if this is bad for traffic in game, but I know you like things to be realistic. Can't wait to see more of Blightea-on-the-wold. thanks for another fantastic episode Biffa.

I don't think it matters for the game and let's be honest that in reality in such neighbourhoods they will use the space whether it's allowed or not. BTW the rule in Germany is a bit stupid. You are not allowed to park before and after a crossing but that distance is calculated from where both streets meet if you extend their sidewalks. So if the crossing has a very wide curve, this rule is meaningless.

At 20:27 I think Orpington would benefit greatly from upgrading some of its roads to the road with those blue bike lanes. It could start at at the junction at the top left side of the screen, go straight through the middle and end at the junction with the road leading (who could potentialy also be upgraded to a road w/ bike lanes) to the roundabout. Another loop could start at the junction at the top right side of the screen, come down 2 blocks then go straight left to the school, go up again one block then straight right until it connects back to the road in the middle, just one block down of the junction. I thnik it would be very efficient !

For the new areas, you might want to consider what a "redeveloped" area might look like. Think example an area that was bombed during the war, or had a massive catastrophic fire event or something... so UK buildings, but 1950s style and up. Maybe consider the idea of areas that might have higher rise buildings as the council has decided to add density. Things like that.

If I were you, I might be tempted to move the corner houses back from the road enough to line up with those that have the front gardens, but they look okay like they are, too. Still hands down my favourite build! The detailing area with seven trees along the road in the planters is really spiffy! I'd love to see some of the British Police Boxes assets (under police in the workshop). I'd also love to see more trams. They were taken out just about everywhere around the world, but are making a comeback, especially with the extra-long ones and with LRT systems. (eg Manchester). Perhaps having a new development with a tram focus. There's some nice coloured terraces: Brighton painted terrace by dazflint and coloured terraces, shops, and townhomes: Sparky's British Seaside Buildings by Sparky66) in the workshop. The parks "UK Terraced Gardens" by Mollemadson works really well with most of the terraced homes. Keep the Orpington name for use somewhere else. I really like the name. 🙂 There's also the NZ Netball asset. It functions as a basketball facility for a university.

Victearia Gardens/Terrace (or even square, for all the squares there) I think would be a grand name for the Victorian section.

When showing the houses you’re going to use at the beginning, suggestion to face them into the sun not away, so you can get a better view and better sense of their colour and detail

You might consider some farmland/farm industry in the Medieval part of town- just a small farm plop here and there, and perhaps the main buildings a little outside of town. It wouldn't be uncommon for peasants to surround the farm that they worked on, so running them roads into the middle of a few sections with a grove or field wouldn't be too crazy. (Though the traffic might be... interesting.)

I don’t know if there’s an equivalent in the Uk, but in the states if you have a place where you want a crossing but you don’t want a traffic light that shifts automatically, you can just put in one that only shifts when people are there to press the button to cross. That way traffic is only impeded when there are people actually there and not when there aren’t. I suppose I’m also not certain there’s anything like that in the game either

Hi ... 25:38 This bus line review was a little bit surprising. It is quite a long line and gives access to some education, some healthcare, some shopping ... but it does not connect to higher capacity transit (existing or new metro station, 25:47 shows a potential location for a fill-in) that would give access to basically the whole map. Living in Essen, Germany, a city of ~580000 population, we have dozens of bus lines. Every single one connects either to a regional rail, (underground) light rail or tram line with only one exception that shuttles between a suburban bus hub (with at least an express bus connection) and a bridge in disrepair - this is actually our worst connected bus line in the whole city. Transfer options (to higher-capacity transit) are the cherry on the cake for almost every low-capacity line - they quickly become the most popular stop. Adding such a connection should really boost your ridership numbers.

I love the new neighborhood and seeing the landvalue your sims seem to love it as well :) I hope you'll find use for the other houses you have downloaded as shown in the beginning of the video. I can imagine a few of the u shaped blocks with perhaps a parking in the middle making a nice new part of this town.

I think that area needs at *least* one pub ("Quar-tea-main's Arms", or "The Quar-tea-main" per my earlier comment). I also reckon there'd be a few little shops in there too - particularly around the park. Love this little area!

Loving this series and I was thinking as you were knocking down building to make way for roads, this is exactly what happened in a lot of cities in the UK and you see end terraces without the nice corner buildings. Not sure if you could cope with that 😉

Re: The School car park... it felt right to me there might be a sudden gap in the houses. A lot of Victorian and Georgian terraces were bombed in the war and that a car park corner filled the gap rather than rebuilding houses seems reasonable to me

32:50 Biffa:"We'll make do with the green lanes." Don't you have intersection marking tool? That mod can also color in lanes on road segments. Edit: Ah, he figured it out in the last 3 seconds of the video.

By the playground in Orpington I would remove. One of the end houses and place a corner pub there and on one of the other sides just add a couple of shops in just to add to the realism and I think that's about it really for that area. I think the bus routes could be done a little bit better making them a bit more stream lined rather that looping everything.

You could name the area ‘Place des Vosges’ after the area in Paris that’s one of the oldest known blocks of terrace houses. It could be an enclave of French settlers who came to the UK and settled in Blighty on the Wold :)

Have you thought about changing your streetlights? As you must be aware in the UK we have a kind of hierarchy in streetlights with lesser roads having smaller lighting than major roads for example. Not sure if you use the CSR Mod but you could change the lighting even on existing roads by using it...
