My mother used to tell me that for the promotion of this movie elephants were used with actors wearing royal dresses walked in bazars and markets no other Indian movie has done such PR campaign is league of it's own and this was all done in 1960s K Asif was indeed a genius

Mughal-e-Azam is 1 of the wonderful and best movie ever in Bollywood industry. My favourite song (Zindabad ai mohabbat zindabad). Favourite dialogue (Anarkali ko diwar mei jinda chunwa dea jae)....

In fact, no one else could have played the role of Anarkali so beautifully except Madhubala. What a beautiful she is!!!!!

Pyar kiya is indeed the best song of the film, but the one which I find unforgettable is teri mehfil mein. The lyrics are so beautiful, displaying the contrasting opinions about love. And the best part of the video is the facial expression of the actresses.

I studied in the department of Urdu and in the last semester, we read the novel "Anarkali". The novel itself is a masterpiece of Urdu literature and the movie precisely reflected the novel. This is the biggest and the best movie of Hindustani language ever. ♥️

As a gen z watched this movie and i cried because how amazing it is. And Madhubala ji forever be remembered.

After reading a book on madhubala ji biography this movie was difficult for every body director producer even the actors madhubala ji had a birth disorder which worsened her health at this time of shoot . when she was tied with iron zanzeers it made many cuts on her body and the romance also yes the father was also the concern and they both dilip ji and madhubala ji had their breakup before this scene so it was difficult emotionally as well.

The cast, the music, the sets, the dialogues - everything was just royal. The name really justifies the contents.

This is indeed one of the best made films in India. One can clearly see the grandeur and the vision that K Asif had. Dilip Kumar's performance was very subtle, nuanced. Madhubala was ethereal. Prthviraj Kapoor felt like a bit over the top, but I think that was needed to make the character look formidable. Every detail was done with a lot of care. One of the best films!

People talk about the greatest movie but no one knows about the struggles behind it Well should i say thanks to you 😊

bro this was first movie which I saw back in 2004 with my grandparents when I was in first standard along with "Ben Hur". My favourite scene is of the song "Jab Pyaar Kiya Toh Darna Kya" when one can see multiple reflections of Anarkali dancing. My Nanaji is a huge movie enthusiast. He still has all the old DVD's of all the old movies be it hollywood or bollywood. Kids were watching SRK, Salman and Akshay's movies and I was watching Dilip Kumar, Manoj Kumar and Dev Anand's movies back then 😅
