The Struggle Dales // 170km On Yorkshire’s Hardest Climbs
Спорт
The Struggle Dales, with 3400m packed in to 170km, this event is one for the hill lovers…and downhill lovers too! As we say, grippy roads galore can be found here, sapping your energy with very little mental respite. This is my video of my experience riding the event, socialising, going for KOMs and taking you along the route to see the magnificent countryside for yourself!

@@stephenleak183 agreed Stephen - I was signed up for it in 2020 and it got postponed to 2021, and has since been postponed to Sept 2021 - and not sure if I’ll be able to make that. Am up in the lakes next week also - looking forward to it 👌

You can defer this year’s entry to 2022😀
What a great event that looked like! Amazing nature & scenery, great roads, tough climbs and swooping descents. Better than I'd even imagined! Absolutely loved seeing bits and pieces of all these know faces/names who decided to meet up and participate. Nicely done, everyone! :D 20:12 "See you online" Hahaha! That cracked me up! xD
Boom! What a day out eh? Great video mate. I too mentally broke on the section after the last feed towards Trapping Hill 😂 Once on the climb I was fine though but the lead up was absolutely awful. Two Stoops was brutal but the fans were brill. Just what we needed after 150k 😁 Great work team BAKPDL 🧡🧡🧡

I’m on holiday in Yorkshire this week and had a go at part of this. Beautiful scenery and riding but it was tough. I’m staying in masham and did the road to Lofthouse, round to Pateley bridge and back over Nidderdale

Was truly an Epic Ride! Great video, those roads were awesome to ride on, even if it was getting grippy near the end!
Amazing video and that format worked really well! Looks like some great climbs. Even more gutted I missed it now. Going to have to give Yorkshire Hills a go...

Oooo been waiting for this 🥳👌 Fantastic coverage mate, looked incredible, brought back memories!!, Malham cove my old stoping grounds, school trips, even did my Duke of Edinburgh over them Moors. Took Hannah on a memory walk few years backs over the limestone, same spot where also a scene from Harry potter was filmed 😅. Anyhow certainly on my list to go back and Ride 👊 Cracking route great to see some of the BAKPDL crew there too 👌. Well done all!
I fully enjoyed my time during the struggle Dale. Also that 20% hill just after the bridge turning right OMG why wasn't that not on the list of climbs 🤣🤣 The cow on the bottom park rash. My mate nearly nailed the the cow as his brake over heated on his carbon rims n pads. 💩💩

Looks grand! Similar to the Fred Whitton (180km/3600m). I'm just over the border in Lancashire, so this definitely looks like one to tick off
Rapid Edmondo good luck in nationals
What a wonderful event - really good video covering your day - hope you’ll do a few more similar events/stories (but what did Charlie do whilst you were pedalling...🤔). Those Yorkshire roads are something special ...😍

I've heard!
At least you now know that a white goatie doesn't cut it 😂
I'm lucky to live here, however I need to travel 15 miles or so to find some actual hills (to look at 👀)
Nice one Ed, as a Yorkshireman who lives down in Wiltshire it just makes me ache to go back home.
13:01This decent is why I love Malham climb the decent is my favourite road in yorkshire although the kicker at the bottom catches you out 😁 17:33 Your decent wasn't that slow I was in a car and you guys dropped me, only caught you in parsley bridge 🏍 Which climb would you say is your favourite as they are all very different, Malham for me but I've never done 2 stoops
