Bhishma was not the only one in the Mahabharata to exhibit such devotion towards Krishna. There are many so called "side stories" which are present in the Mahabharata. Two such stories share tales of being a Krishna's devotee. The first story is much before the events of the war happen. Arjuna was the closest pandava to Krishna. They both were inseparable in their friendship and Arjuna worshipped Krishna. One day, when they both were taking a stroll, when Arjuna noticed that flowers were showering over Krishna. Arjuna asked Krishna what was making flowers rain on him. He said that a devotee was performing pooja on him and that's why this is happening. Arjuna was surprised. He thought that he was the best devotee of Krishna and yet his pooja had never resulted in such a rain of flowers. He then asked who this great devotee was. Krishna replied that it was actually Bhima. Arjuna was surprised even more. How could Bhima, someone who usually only thinks about eating, cooking and fighting be such a great devotee and be performing poojas. Krishna revealed that pooja does not just mean chanting mantras, performing aarti on an idol, or pouring ghee over a sacrificial fire. If one sees everything as an offering to Krishna and sincerely dedicates it to Krishna by saying "Krishnarpanam" in sanskrit which means "may all this belong to Krishna" without any sense of possession over the said objects, it becomes equal to worship. Krishna further explains that this includes both the good things we get in life as well as the bad things. If you sincerely believe and say "Krishnarpanam" to just about anything you come across in life and remove your desire to possess good fortune or wish to get out of bad fortune, you are relieved of the Karma from those things and hence become one step closer towards moksha. Thus, Arjuna was humbled by the simple minded Bhima who was nowhere near them and was taking a separate stroll from them, took a look at some beautiful flowers along the way and dedicated them to Krishna in his mind. The second story is that of Sahadeva when war becomes imminent. Sahadeva was the most intelligent of the pandavas, having learned much of the vedas as well as astrology apart from his expertise in warfare as a kshatriya. He was the closest to being a brahmana that a kshatriya can be. As such, he was famous for his honesty and accuracy of his astrological predictions that even Duryodhana consulted him over the day and time as to when a sacrifice needs to be conducted so that he can be victorious in the war. Sahadeva gives the same honest answer to both his allies as well as his enemies. The sacrifice needs to be conducted when the sun, moon and earth are in a particular alignment. Observing this, Krishna decided to test Sahadeva and asked him what he would recommend for the war to be averted. Sahadeva replied that to avoid the war of the succession over Hastinapur's throne, Krishna must be bound such that he is unable to move, and Karna must be made the king after revealing the truth behind his birth. Krishna challenged Sahadeva to bind him. Sahadeva accepted and entered a deep meditation over Krishna as a devotee such that Krishna found himself unable to move or break Sahadeva's chains of will that had ensnared him. Greatly impressed by his honesty and devotion, Krishna granted a boon to Sahadeva to which he asked for the survival of all of his brothers after the war. Krishna agreed to this and thus later led the pandavas to both victory as well as survival despite many close shaves with death.

Beautiful lecture by Swamiji. Love is God. By the grace of God we can be a selfless lover. Love is patient and kind; It is not arrogant or rude. ; it is not irritable or resentful. Selfless love is so pure that it can not see any negativity in the beloved. If we will pray God from our heart , God will definitely listen to us and bestow His grace upon us.
