I have Layton and Detour Noir, it's very close to Layton. It's a bit sweeter and a bit more intense Layton is more fresh. The first wear, I didn't much like it, but after a few wear I became addicted how it smells

I wore Detour Noir once and 8 hours later this guy walks passed me and says “damn you smell good bro”

Wore it today and received great compliments. Detour Noir. One person who gave a compliment has favorite baccarat 540.

I never smelled Layton but Detour Noir is one of the most complimented fragrances in my collection. Great price quality ratio 👌

I Have layton and its one of my favorites. My coworker bought Detour Noir and had me bring my Layton to compare. You are not missing much by not having layton. To both of our noses its almost 100% the same. When My layton runs out ill probably replace with Detour. Side by side on skin i can smell a slight difference. However, when I wore Detour by itself I would get whiffs of it randomly and it 100% triggers the part of my nose memory that says "this is layton".

@Chaos Fragrances Is the Detour Noir still smooth in comparison to what's in Al Haramain's Amber Oud collection? That line smelled very premium to me and I was also happy that I didn't get any allergic reactions or irritation from it as I can be sensitive to some scents. I was thinking to pick up the Detour Noir or the Amber Oud Exclusif Blu.

Dusk The Woods Collection it performs much less well than the original PDM Layton and also has much less sillage/projection than for example Royal Bleu de Orientica Premium (eau de parfum) 80 usd for 150ml and Xclusif Oud Bleu de Orientica Premium (extrait de parfum) 60 usd for 60ml. (which in my opinion are the clones with the best performance, perhaps even better than the original.)

I got Dusk, fortunately before anyone put a video out on it. Are we not calling that one a clone? It doesn't have menthol in it and the dry down is similar to a few tobacco scents I own.

You need to check out dusk from the woods collection and there's even another that's getting All the hipe dont remember the name tho

I’ve seen The Tux being sold for as much as YSL Tuxedo ($195 for 2.5 oz.). I believe they are under cease and desist orders by YSL lawsuit for infringement on their intellectual property rights. The bottle presentation look just like YSL Tuxedo, except for the black label. I’d rather (and will!) purchase the genuine article before paying that price for an imitation!

I just got Amber Oud. I’m excited to use it.

Think you need to try The Woods Collection Natural Dusk For Man/Woman

The lalique comes and goes and while it has similarities to Layton it does not thave the PDM dna "muskiness"...: I wonder if detour replicates that and how well...also i wonder how good / deep it smells upclose because most clones will fall apart in this situation... it'll def help my decision if I'm gonna fork the extra for Layton.

There was something about Amber Oud Exclusif Bleu that I just found cloying.... turned my stomach after an hour or two wearing it. I had to sell my bottle. The OG Layton never did this for me..... so I ended up finding a nice deal on the PDM and just spending the money. I've had a similar experience with other clones a couple times too.

Not sure if you've ever put your nose on this brand but in my humble opinion Luxodor Loyal Agar is a great Layton clone and reasonably price along with a nice presentation to include a strong magnetic cap.

Royal Equestrian all day!

So far i've tried detour noir, guardian blue, amber oud bleu exclusif, royal equestrian. Royal equestrian and a.o.b.e again. The others lack performance for me and dont smell smooth. Royal equestrian smells like amber oud bleu but just a larger bottle. I think amber oud bleu had the best performance of them all. I want one stronger than that one but for a cheaper price. Hopefully a clone house will drop a nuclear layton clone on us as a cheapie soon.

Found Layton on fragrancebuy for 180$ bit the bullet and bought it. I gotta say I am happy I did, it’s so good. I got a sample before I bought at first my wife didn’t like it but that quickly changed she loves it now. 10/10 🔥 no wonder it’s always on top of every reviewers list!

I have Detour Noire. I don't have the Al Haramain. But I do have Dusk from the Woods Collection. Surprised it was not included. Has Dallas ever reviewed it? Hmmmm....

Actually it is all the way around. Detour Noire is Al haramain brand and Exclusive blue is not.

Exclusif bleu is the best, for sure. Comes in at the cost of a standard designer fragrance like a dior etc, but it is Layton. I dont like clones, because they just aren't close enough to the fragrance i wanted initially. Amber oud is the only clone ive ever been convinced is 100% identical in smell. It should be noted this this fragrance is made by Orientica, and they've recently went away from the no name bottle and changed it to Orientica Royal Blue. Same exact fragrance/company as Amber oud Exclusif Bleu, just now in a silver and blue labeled bottle.

It's close but after wearing both since September/October I'm able to pick up on the finer differences. The longer I wear both the less I find them similar.

​@DRJoinRumbleStayFree don't really have that myself, been wearing Layton for 2 years and got bleu this year at a good price and it really smells very similar to me and obviously no one would know the difference that isn't part of the community

DTN is top notch for the office, P.s have never cared fir presentation, juice matters. All mine are stored in a dark, sheltered place for conservation

I'd like to point out that there's also XO Bleu from Orientica, which was, in theory, the same fragrance as Amber Oud Bleu Exclusif. However, while it's true that they have the same notes, the XO variant has considerably worse performance compared to Amber Oud, even though it's also extrait concentration. It's great on its own tho, lasting 12 hours if we include the skin-scent phase. There's also Royal Bleu also from Orientica which is XO but in EDP concentration. In theory it should perform worse than XO but bottles are 150 ml instead of 60, a lot of juice and cheaper for ml. Performance of these fragrances aren't bad by any means, they are absolutely great, but Amber Oud is just a beast.

Guys I guarantee you Al Haramain Detour Noir (which i bought) smells if not 100% like Layton but a solid 95% for sure. I went to a Parfums de Marly official store and sprayed Layton. After 30 minutes that freshness is gone and its smells exactly like the clone. I was blown away...30£>>>>> 180-200£

There’s one that came out this year called dusk from the woods collection that is one of the closest with great performance and a great price.

Yep, I agree, although the cardamom in the opening is just a lil bit too much for my liking, but the drydown is identical with layton. I also have detour noir, but the drydown just doesn't do it for me, it became too powdery and became less similar to the OG.

Interesting. I first thought exclusif Bleu was a 1:1 but after wearing them both for a solid month+ Layton holds together much better. I'd love to try it but I have probably 2 yrs worth of Layton and a clone already

I must have a bad bottle of Detour Noir - it smells nasty next to my Dusk from the woods collection!

Perfumes from "maison Alhambra", like those from Lattafa, generally perform very poorly, especially when it comes to sillage and projection. (in addition to being very chemical, these perfumes are sold for between 5 and 10 usd in the Middle East. The Al Haramain brand is of much higher quality and performs much better). Not to be forgotten in the ranking of the best alternatives to PDM Layton are Xclusif Oud Bleu by Orientica Premium (perfume) and Royal Bleu by Orientica Premium (eau de parfum), which perform at the same level as the original and much better than the other clones.

So many detour noir fans are gonna be butthurt about this but yea. Exclusif blue is the better one, although by price point detoir noir is better. Depends on whats more important

I can't help but wonder if I didn't just get a bad batch of Detour Noir. I hated it. My wife hated it. My daughter hated it. Brother, Cousin, mom, father-in-law lol. Literally everybody I asked hated it and I NEVER ever got apple, cinnamon, or anything decent out of it. I ended up throwing it in the trash.

i have Detour Noir, but it doesn't seem an extraordinary good performer, just ok, maybe 6h at max :/

So people get confused on this because of the similarities. Al haramain amber oud blue edition is a clone of bdc. However, amber oud exclusif blue is a different fragrance, different company, but the exact same presentation

You did not even review the Best Layton clone : The Woods Collection Dusk . I have 3 Layton clones and none come close to Dusk . You can get Dusk for an affordable $50, and to me , worth the extra few dollars for a higher quality clone , that most average people when they get a whiff of , will think you are wearing Layton .
