Levy doesn't understand that the average 1200-1300 plays like a 1500 one game and then a 1000 the next game, as a 1300 I can confirm that. His viewers are also going to send in their best games (which inversely will be their opponents worst games) so its going to skew to the opponent looking worse than they actually are

It was in the middle of some drama. Levi called our a cheater and some brain dead sheep mindlessly defended them because they were from Indonesia and apparently defending people from your nation is more important than integrity and civil decency. Doesn't help with their stereotype, but seriously they were just awful which is why the video has a stupid amount if dislikes.

Hey Levy if you’re still taking suggestions for content, an idea for a stream could be a “crowd control” speed run. The idea could be that chat could donate to force you to make a move with a certain piece, or potentially stop you from castling etc. Keep up the good work and let’s get 1 mil before hikaru please. Edit: if you're not interested in making a profit, then perhaps it could be part of a charity stream.

As I've stated in other threads, he loves what he does. He gets to do something different with a game he has dedicated his life to. He no longer just focuses on grinding to be better in chess which was only wearing him down. With what he does now he's able to enjoy the game itself again. Can't exactly blame him.

The 5th game is nice, but I'm 1300 and played chess in school where we had a coach so we needed to learn this mating pattern, so hint for the future-there are some players like me who know these ideas but never really studied chess after age of like 13 so we are stuck at levels 1200-1400 but know the basic endgame strategy

This is exactly where I'm at. I have a bunch of fragmentary knowledge from when I was a kid, so I'm actually pretty good in a lot of endgames, and can push towards them when I see opportunities to do so, but I make dumb blunders in the middle game all the time, and end up having to come from behind a lot.

Here's the thing though. I'm floating around this ELO myself and I see 2 trends. 1) People who play at around 1200 all of their moves. 2) People playing amazing most of the game with 1 game-losing blunder, So you get a lot of people who could be doing much better at 1200 but we get bopped by oversights

4:25 I agree. I've seen this relatively often and I was in a position like this before. When having two people with a close or a same elo, it doesn't necessarily mean that they are equally good in chess. (Quick story alert): When I was younger I used to play a lot of chess and tournamens (in real life, not online) then I stopped for a some time to concentrate on college. After a while I started playing online and I just rushed through the rating, continuously winning till I reached 1800-1900 elo. Many 700-800 rated players though I was cheating cause I was defeating them brutally, but I was just better, I already knew chess theory quite well beforehand so I wasn't a beginner when I started playing online. Now I go up and down with my elo like 2085 to 2130 and something like that. Anyways, I just wanted to say as I pointed above that if two people are rated the same, it doesn't mean they are equally good. :)
