I love it! I really like oddball instruments and would probably play it for a day, get frustrated, and put it away. I find it 10 years later, try to play it, get frustrated and start the cycle all over again.

😂😂😂😂
It has a built-in mute and produces quite a tinny sound. I wonder what it would sound like with an open bell.
Sounds like a Theremin to me. And "Flight of the Bumblebee" totally resurrected the 4:41 minutes of my life that I thought I had lost! 😜

I think is a Theresax too 😂
Nice effort! The Artvark SQ (with Leo van Oostrom) you mention is actually a Dutch.
The trombone of the saxophone world! There are also slide alto saxophones too, but I think the slide soprano sounds better. This has kind of a spooky sound, almost Theremin like. If you hadn't the text saying the last piece was Flight of the Bumblebee, I'd have never known.

Yes, that's we put the text up. I'm not sure I would have guessed. Jim
I saw this in the American Army Band Orchestra as one of the unique rares
Roland Kirk would for sure want one!
excellent demonstration Jim. Only the 2nd time I have seem one demonstrated

Thanks, but perhaps the use of the word 'excellent' is taking things too far? Jim

heh heh heh - Jim - rare to see these things, rarer to see them demonstrated - excellent it was. Me? "Just" bought a 1949 Buescher Aristocrat 156 aka Big B - this replaces one I had stolen many years ago.
Sax players getting confronted with trombone challenges🤣
Great for pitch awareness
Wow, what a cool antique artifact! Piece of art and arguably... a musical instrument, hehe )))
I’d call it a Saxabone!
It sounds like if the Trombone was combined with the Soprano saxophone.
Beautiful rhapsody in blue solo

There's no way that was Rhapsody in Blue. I don't know WTF it was, but it wasn't that.

@@hxhdfjifzirstc894 I'm afraid the above commenter was correct. Rhapsody in Blue.
Hope no one stabbed own eye, but great video again!

That's a good safety point
So it’s kind of like a tiny trombone, with a sax mouthpiece!
How does the slider close the tube, as it is conical in bore? This seems to me mechaniclly impossible....
Greetings from Norway 🇳🇴 😂
which is alto or tenor or melodic is good for training the ear and tuning. trombone saxophone
Perfect instrument for UFO sound effects
Hello sir, I come from China and I just bought a soprano mouthpiece Dukoff D7, which is currently produced. I would like to hear your understanding of the new version and the Florida version。Thank you endlessly
Pretty sure ArtvarkSQ are Dutch.
Thought at first it might be SAX.Co's pre Halloween Special performance. In any event, it's an interesting instrument.

Yes, fairly spooky.
I’ve never heard anything like that. I’m good without that horn. I would be wondering that same question. Why?
First, but I really don't know what to say. In fact, I'm speechless.
The Theresax is here!! 😅
Hello what’s the song at 0:50 ? Great video

did you find it?
I would love for someone to make a sliding saxophone with an actual slider. 💡 A slider that moves away from you like on a trombone, as opposed to this ruler on these joke saxophones. 😅 And even more, a family of them in C: C1 Contrabass, C2 Bass, C3 Alto-Tenor, and C4 for the soprano. 🙏🏾
How is it not called a Saxobone?
Sounds like a trombone mouthpiece
นี่คือแซกอะไรหาซื้อได้ที่ไหน
Saxobone... Slide whistle with a sax mouthpiece... Kinda interesting, but awkward.
I would have preferred a more serious attempt at playing it. You just turned it into a joke.
