Carl Trueman is one of those guys you can read and listen to effortlessly for hours. This conversation was incredibly informative, lucid and needed. Both of these guys are assets to academia and the Church.

I can't say that I entirely agreed with everything that was said here, but it was an honest, intelligent, and enlightening discussion, which at any time is a thing for which to be thankful.

If I may graciously disagree with the caveat many conservatives make as was made here that says, "if you're an adult and want to mutilate your gender go ahead". No, that's not ok. mutilating the body for gender reassignment should not be ok for anyone. That is wrong on so many levels and should not be verbalized by Christians that its fine for adults just leave the kids alone. I agreed 💯 with everything else tho lol

Interesting discussion. I have bought Carl Trueman's two books - 'Triumph of the Modern Self'..., and 'History and Fallacies'... My only comment regarding the discussion is of the dangers of not getting the use of language right. Professor Trueman said " ... and you want to transition from being a man to being a woman...". My contention is that this is an incoherent statement. Sex is biology. It grounds our definitions such that man and woman are adult human forms of sexed bodies - males and females. There is no means to change sex in reality. In law, yes as in the Gender Recognition Certificate here in the UK, and that is only within the domain of law and not in reality, since it relies on the creation of a legal fiction.

The only thing missing in this discussion was the war on Christmas. 🙄

The Sexual Revolution may be making the same mistake Napoleon and Hitler made in invading Russia: the power of natural forces cannot be overcome with ideological and political zeal - no matter how intimidating a front a movement can muster. Eventually, life's physical realities come into play that crush humanity's psychological ventures into Fantasy Land.

The way Dr Moehler pronounces Louisville is off-putting. He has lived there long enough to pronounce it correctly. It's Loo-uh-vull.

He probably pronounced it that way so the rest of us could understand what city he was talking about. Lol

Elitist like him to to avoid local dialect. He sees himself as above local, "commoners".

@22:00 He should write his next book on the absurdity that a British man in 2022 could refer to a Muslim as having been "well integrated" into British society.
