Jordan makes statements implying there is research behind them when there isn't. He cites something (which has legitimacy) and then goes off on a bias after that right afterwards thereby mudding the water about what is research and what is his opinion

Jordan Peterson's arguing style is purposely deceitful. If you are knowledgable about eugenics, you can see that he uses the same arguments eugenicists used but he doesn't say out loud "and that's why we should force sterilization on [disparaged group]" but he's priming his viewers, just like cults do. Seems all well and good until it isnt.

I think it's more the fact that people hear Jordan is this or that and instantly look for things not to like him. I'm a woman and I discovered Jordan during covid. I've been a fan of him ever since. I'm Belgian but I know of Francis and Konstantin as well. It just never hurts to listen to the JRE podcast. You learn more about people than off Wikipedia or Google. My analogy on football and the world is that most of us have turned into the most ardent football club supporters. If you prefer your club to mine, we will never get along. Total BS but that what it feels like a lot of the time.

It's true people are complex and not one dimensional. I would say that internet over- relies on character assassination instead of discussing the actual issues and finding solutions. IE instead of scoffing and saying thats so dumb maybe understanding another's point of view can bring you a long way. (No matter where you are on an issue.)

Great comments! I had a terrible opinion about Jordan Peterson based on clips and short comments -- and then watched one of his videos - and now I think he's great! I still think he makes some incorrect or appalling statements - but overall he seems brilliant in his field and on his long videos / podcasts. It really is important to keep an open mind but remain aware no one is perfect. (from a female liberal/progressive)

I don’t know anyone who thinks all women are good, who is saying this? Of course we can all be miserable disgusting people, whatever gender we think we are. We have more similarities than we are led to believe.

The glitches in the graphics may be due to utilising the bugs in the original VIC, such as the $D011 and $D016 border tricks. Perhaps these don't work the same way ?

As Andrew says - "all my friends say things I find offensive and I just get on with my day". The thing is, he doesn't extend that charity to his 'ideological' opponents - not in the slightest. He made a ridiculous diatribe about SNL when they made a joke he didn't like. There was no putting that one aside - no looking at the context. In fact he went out of his way to hide the context in case his audience noticed how absurd his attack was.

Y'all oversimplifying way too much. People come off nice so they're nice? I mean people are allowed to be ignorant and stupid, or 'have their opinions,' but that doesn't entitle them to be beyond reproach despite perhaps, when you boil it down or not, being a liability to entire societies.

They will not have a billionth of the chances, probably. But then would they really see any benefit from becoming a computer programmer. I got sick of the argument that I should stop complaining when there are starving people in Africa. It’s relative, the harm done to me when I am robbed of something I deserve is the same as someone living in a hut with a dirt floor has something stolen from them.

When someone is a public figure, it doesn’t matter who they are out of the limelight, the only thing that matters is the message they put out. Like if Jordan Peterson goes on a 4 hr rant on his pod cast about how women should serve man and each man should be assigned a beautiful woman without the woman’s say, then turns to you once the camera is off and has an in-depth conversation about how important women are and he actually believes that women should be allowed to chose their forever partner and that partner should be charged with a crime for cheating on her, you would think Jordan actually cares about women a lot. But his audience wouldn’t have heard that discussion because it’s not what he wants to portray himself as. It would hurt his brand as an “alpha” male. Thus it isn’t the message he’s trying to let out. And that private conversation? Just proves Jordan Peterson isn’t interested in the best for the people, he’s interested what’s most beneficial for his pocket. Until he stops literally crying when he talks about his “oppression” as a white straight male and starts talking about respecting others and stop fixating on transgender people to the point he gets his followers to attack and harass them for him, maybe I’ll give him a listen. Since that’s never gonna happen, I’m perfectly fine with never watching that pathetic work of a man preach about how hard it is being born as the epitome of privilege. Plus I can only stand sooo much of his whining. Seriously, my ears start ringing and eventually all I hear is noise when I listen to him speak. My brain can’t stand the ridiculousness of his message. Because there really isn’t one. It’s just him being pissed off that he isn’t treated as if he’s infallible anymore. He’s just treated like everyone else. Which isn’t a huge thing for everyone else who has been treated less than you their entire lives. Since he has a lot of money, I doubt it’s as big as an issue as he makes it out to be. Especially since people with wealth are treated waay better than everyone else. But it makes money. And if he doesn’t look like he gives a shit about his followers, well he loses money. And from what you guys are saying, he’s definitely a fraud, at least to some extent.
