About Married with Children:
The less-than-lovable Bundys are a radical departure from the saccharine-sweet TV families popular since the days of Father Knows Best. With offbeat humor and unflinching honesty, Married... paints a more realistic picture of middle-class existence, warts and all. Al Bundy (Ed O'Neill) is a shoe salesman who is fond of frequently reliving his doubtful 15 seconds of fame on the football field. Al is terrified of the all-too-frequent amorous advances of his ditsy wife Peggy (Katey Sagal), who spends most of Al's wages at the salon and the mall. They have two teenage kids: stunning but superficial party animal Kelly (Christina Applegate) and egocentric Bud (David Faustino). Married for 16 semi-blissful years, Peggy and Al have found that the secret to a happy marriage is to accept one another's idiosyncrasies.

Fantastic video! The rise and fall of Steve's & Marcy's marriage!
Long history with Steve and Mercy crazy stories 😂😂😂😂
I honestly think Steve was a good balance not only to Marcy but also with Al. Steve was the well-talored smart but also kinda geeky guy, while Al Bundy was more the rough and tough guy who dressed poorly. Al was also very devious and cunning at times. It is true Steve was smart and kinda good voice reason for Al. Well, Al was more devil advocate for Steve. For example, Steve kinda pushed Al to bring an old library book back. You can tell Al didn't want to do it, but he did it anyway. However, a few episodes before that, Marcy crashed Steve bmw car. Al kinda showed Steve to make Marcy pay by gulit trip her into doing stuff for him. Like cook for food for him serving food in his bed side or senting her multiple times to the store. Having Marcy work. To find out at the end it was all Al Bundy who helped Steve and gave him the idea but have him planned it. Especially the whole Bruce Willias bit. I think it wasn't the same when Steve finally left. This show was still good but wasn't the same.
Love the way Al always leads Steve Astray great show fantastic writing 🌠📼🤑
It's interesting that Steve was able to escape marriage, unlike Al. Of course, it only happened because David Garrison wanted to go back to the stage.

You watch the first season of Married With Children and see how much in love Steve and Marcy were. Fast forward a few years later after they've divorced, the poisonous barbs they threw at each other, you can't imagine how they even fell in love to begin with. Love how Steve taunted Marcy with his flaunting his supposed wealthy status, only to find out he was actually a mere chauffeur for a rich guy.

Steve and Marcy, at least at first, were truly in love, probably the worst thing they did was move next door to the Bundys. With Marcy and Jefferson, they were more in lust than anything else. Jefferson always laughed at Al's jokes behind her back, I never really saw one true ounce of affection for her from him. After Steve left her, I think Marcy just settled for Jefferson. He was a looker, and she hated to be without a man, we all saw how desperate she was when Steve was gone. Jefferson was just looking for someone to leech off of. I have a sneaking feeling if Jefferson ever won the lottery or found a rich, younger, more attractive woman that crossed his path, or both, he would have pulled a Steve and ducked out on Marcy.

That's not really accurate. Marcy is attracted to masculine men; she just wanted to modify Steve's interests to align with her own. Many people get married with the presumption that they can change their spose.

I disagree. When Marcy was married to Steve, she was attracted to his yuppie lifestyle + new age male sensitivity (the latter which Steve had to refine and showcase in Marcy's presence).
"Where are they?" "I don't know" LMAO
Thanks for the video - really brought back childhood memories, watching Al Bundy in 3. and 4. grade in Germany. It's nice to see the show with the actors' original voices. However though, if I may say, the scene where Steve grows a beard and Marcy convinces him to shave it off should have been included here :D :D
I was kinda rooting for Steve when he came back that one time.
Listen to "the pop" David Garrison, a.k.a steve, got whem he came back in season 9, episode 16. That "pop" was on level with the best of Al Bundy "let's rock"
I'd love you to do a marcy and Jefferson one.

They should have included the clip when Steve & Marcy lost their house. And to me, Steve was a little funnier than Jefferson.
At 11:26 foreshadows Steve's departure from the series when he tells Al Bundy that he quit his job at the pet store and decided to become an "outdoors man" at Yosemete National Park. In real life, the actor David Garrison actually quit the series in the middle of Season 4 to return to his hometown in New York City to work in live theater which was his career before acting on this sitcom. During the first seasons, David Garrison actually commuted to New York City on weekends to visit his family and look at acting gigs on and off Broadway in the event that the TV series he was working on got canceled. When it didn't, he asked the producers to be let out of his contract so he could pursue other projects. I guess he felt that his character of Steve Rhodes had run its course after nearly four years on MWC so which led him to walk out of the series. That is only my personal opinion, but who knows?
@trueshy
6 ай бұрын
Actually, he quit to join another sit-com where he was he leaf (that only had a brief run) & then he went crawling back to the theater. I wish they showed some of the pirate ship episode where Steve's singing makes Peggy crazy/sick.
Steve was okay. Jefferson was way funnier. Plus Jefferson hung out with Al.
