He’s certainly not underrated, everyone know his talent, but it was never shown. Someone can’t be underrated if they never were able to show how good they could be. He’s more the best driver that never was.

@@retrobeans24 He got massively underrated by f1 in his comeback. Had it been any other team than Williams, he would have stayed on the grid for at least another season. Stripping cars off of his car, giving them to George, changing balance without consulting the driver before quali... he would have never had all the crashes and disappointing outings and his reputation in the f1 paddock would have never taken such a hit if it wasn't for this absolutely toxic, mismanaged british mess of a team at the time. Even with all that shit he was getting, he was pretty much always within a tenth behind Russel in quali and frequently getting him on race starts etc.

nah, i think alonso would do better than kubica at ferrari, and kubica wouldn't have been a title contender cuz he is not as great as alonso. however, i know that kubica would still do very good at ferrari despite not fighting for the title cuz ferrari wasn't that competitive in the early 2010s

It really hurts when you think about how his career could've panned out, had it not been for that really unfortunate accident. Robert was kind of a pioneer of motorsport in his country. Poland has never been in the centre of motor racing before and that makes Robert's achievements even more impressive, because regardless of circumstances, he was a fierce competitor to Hamilton and Rosberg in karting, he succeeded in multiple junior championships and had a stunning debut in F1. It's hard to imagine what he had to go through during that long period of time recovering from that awful injury but the fact that he still made it back to the scenes, makes you admire him even more. It might not have been a happy return but he still proved everyone that nothing is impossible, he made a priceless contribution to the development of motorsport in Poland and encouraged a new generation to take up racing. Surely, Tymoteusz Kucharczyk and Kacper Sztuka will have something to say in the future.

What you mentioned about his injury and time out of motorsport reminds me of Bruno Senna. After Aryton died Bruno left motorsport for years. It impacted him greatly and stunted his abilities. Aryton himself apparently saw a lot of himself in little Bruno. I feel bad for Bruno Senna.
