Yuri and Gersch are the Russian equivilants of Richtofen and Maxis. Yuri is obsessed with teleportation like Richtofen and gersh wants to expiriment with rockets like how Maxis wants to make zombies for the Nazis. Yuri and Richtofen both want to do more with the research of the science divisions they work for but their partners want to do simple stuff. Both go insane from exposure to the Dark Aether and trap their partners in a teleporter of some kind. Only difference is that Richtofen does the Shadow man's bidding and Yuri does the evil Samantha's bidding. The Ascension group is also the Russian equivalent of Group 935. Very clever, Treyarch.

Wow, I am a CoD fan, I have WWII and I’ve been wondering about some of the Zombies’ Backstories there, I’ve been asking myself if Group 935 was even involved at that time (in The Final Reich) And I can’t believe the Pentagon Thief was Yuri! The pentagon thief is Clarke from the campaign, if you take a look at the tattoo on his forehead (to the left) it matches! It's my theory, another reason why this is true is because Clarke created the nova gas which explains the nova crawlers!
