The story of lil Charlotte Part I

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

A baby abandoned at birth. The story of how many kind-hearted individuals would do anything to help this lil one. Erratum - 24:10 - there are actually 5 of them left, not 1, but they aren't all placed in the enclosure at any one time, hence the false impression by some of the visitors there

If she could have kept the baby then it would have been wonderful, but since the plan was to return her to the troop, she actually really harmed that baby by letting her bond with a human. I know she took wonderful care of her, but sadly, since she bonded to a human, she couldn't bond to a monkey mom, and so ended up being held prisoner by the uncle until she passed on. 🙁

Also, I just want to point out that the people who took in, cared, nursed and loved that little sweetheart are truly beautiful people. This baby was very well cared for. Waking up every 1.5 hours to feed just by itself is proof they love her and want to help. She shows absolutely *no* signs of any kind of distress, abuse, or under any duress. She’s playing, being playful, running to her care takers, looks very well fed. Believe me, I’ve been reporting and trying did this underground cesspool of monkey haters and abusers and while I’m not advertising anyone’s channel, you can certainly see the major differences from how Charlotte behaves to some other poor, helpless monkeys who are severely abused and traumatized. The differences between them are heartbreakingly staggering and numerous. Some are so bad it’s to the point they don’t even want to cling, just rock in a fetal position self soothing with very obvious signs of abuse to their little bodies and faces. What’s even more heartbreaking is that they’re secret groups/discords where people are paying money to get personalized torture videos made and it’s just so sickening. I’m actually ashamed to be the same species as some of these heartless and soulless people. I understand in certain areas there are culling orders but there are many ways to humanely dispatch/euthanize, none of which involve prolonged torture and abuse. I apologize for my little rant but it’s just so deplorable and watching you and your channel is such a welcomed breath of fresh air and restores a bit of my faith back in humanity when it comes to monkeys and how low people will stoop to make an easy dollar. Thank you for everything. From the bottom of my heart (and I know many others) thank you. God bless.

Very well said. I've been watching monkey channels enough to recognize the signs of monkeys that are distressed, traumatized, and fed very little. Endless baths, shampoo squirted directly onto their faces, cold water that leaves the poor babies shivering, cruel humans who taunt and tease with food, and worst of all, the the monkeys that are shown being deliberately and cruelly abused on camera. I saw a video recently showing a monkey lying trapped in under the back of a chair, and it was obvious someone was using their foot to slowly crush the monkey's chest. There are videos of baby monkeys that are obviously drugged with titles like 'Popo being lazy' or 'why Popo not want to eat',. It's sickening how these people are making money. The people that put babies in dangerous situations and then claim to rescue them, with viewers thanking them for being so kind! How naive these viewers are. I've seen undercover videos that show monkeys in dirty cages in dirty back rooms who are trotted out for the purpose of videoing their baths and bottles, bottles which are constantly being prepared and rarely seen given to the baby monkeys. Videos of baby monkeys with their arms bound tightly and made to to walk on two feet. There are very few monkey channels that show good, kind people taking care of a monkey and treating it like part of the family, as we do with dogs and cats. Like you, I'm ashamed to be part of the human race sometimes. I try to leave comments to enlighten people. Sometimes when I've done that I go to that channel again to find they've disabled comments.

Especially having an "experts" in put, u would think he would have better ideas than the one that tragically failed this poor baby! Like why was there not a full force rescue put in place when u seen she was still being drug around by the male the next day or when she wasn't taken well by female & kept running up hill. Am furious they waited days to do what they did! What actions they decided to take should have been done day 2 when u seen she was in trouble. I hope this poor baby's demise haunts all involved for very long time!

I don’t think this is a legit rescue! Scammers are getting smarter on how to manipulate videos and the story they tell us viewers! haven’t you noticed the heavy video edition in the beginning? 1) mother gives birth: she’s doing ok; 2) mother isn’t giving the baby the proper attention, why? 3) have you seen half a banana on her hand at 4:03 minutes? Someone has gotten close enough to “feed” her but that isn’t shown on the video - I call it poisoning! 4) mother is crouching down by the baby side as she isn’t feeling well. clearly at 4:36 her eyes are closing. She isn’t alert as she’s dying from been poisoned ! 5) the video doesn’t show the mother leaving the baby on her on accord. The story teller tells you that but conveniently doesn’t show you. Do you wonder why?! Because she hasn’t done so! Her dead body was removed by one of the scammers! 6) in a troop it’s very rare of other young members to adopt a baby, especially if it is a female without milk! That’s why they show the baby and the other monkey at 5:05, to mislead you on thinking it was abandoned by every monkey! I tell you what, these people are getting smarter in conning viewers; plenty of time to think and write a “fool proof” script, but the facts don’t add up!

@@TheEngenheira27 your fears are well justified given the amount of primates and animal abuse there is in you tube. One thing I know is that it can happen anywhere, but i have not seen it in this channel. The way the person films the primates is without interfering. Never i saw a delivery at monkey hill. This is the first. The females have their youngs away from the street. This was an exception. And from the start seem the female wasnt following the routine away from the street. I think it is clear the female abandons the infant. Usualy, they do not walk away if they intent to keep them. You may be right but by the history of this channel, and the feeders and the video taping person who obviously does it consistently without disturbing the primate, your fears are unfounded and unlikely this was a set up.

What a lovely girl that person was that got up every 90 minutes to feed her, and loved on her letting her cling to her as much as she needed to 🥹💜 I wish there were more people like her honestly, think of the difference that could be made! I wish I could have an island that was a huge sanctuary for monkeys that needed help and looked after like this, I would happily take care of as many of them as I possibly could, and the ones that couldn't be released I would keep but make sure their environment mimicked their natural environment, their such beautiful babies and have such character as they age, I wouldn't just take in babies I'd take in all ages of the macaque breed. Their fascinating to watch! And ridiculously resilient which just makes them all the more interesting to me ❤️ thankfully there are some kind hearted people who try their hardest to help if they have to! Thankyou to that girl that gave her so much love, I know it didn't end well for Charlotte but I'm just glad she got to feel even an ounce of the love she deserved x

yes, that girl is so wonderful to have been so loving to Charlotte,. Having to return Charlotte to the forest I'm sure just about tore her heart out, but she did it anyway, beause she cared MORE about Charlotte's long term welfare than her own feelings for this baby monkey. She wanted Charlotte to have a normal free monkey's life instead of having to live in a house & wear diapers, be caged alot of the time each day while people went to work etc. & not able to learn from her own kind how ro survive as an adult monkey in the wild. So for the outcome to be what it is was beyond heartbreaking for this girl who fed & cared for Charlotte & for all of us & for everyone involved in rescuing this baby. The only good we can say about this is that at least Charlotte KNEW what it was to be valued, loved & that she didn't ONLY learn what it was to suffer a lot down to a slow death, which would've been her fate had the feeders not rescued her. I hoe the young lady can focus on that, she added love and beauy to C's short life, & if not for her time with C, she never would've felt that love.

I wish these people had watched Vervet monkey video they don't just hand baby monkeys to troops. It's a process they keep the babies until they know to go to a feeding cage and drink milk. Never do they count on foster moms to nurse there are no lactating females in troop. So in this case the humans had no way to feed it bottles while in troop should have kept until the age it could forage no longer needed nursing. There was a chance at this age troop would not accept her. If there are no rescue centers then euthanasia would have been more humane.

So refreshing to watch an "infant monkey saved" video and knowing for sure that: 1 - The baby was truly abandoned, not kidnapped after her mother was murdered; 2 - The people that saved her were actually trying to do right by her; 3 - The infant would never be used as a squeaky toy by the dog heard barking in the background; 4 - She would never get her head "stuck" in a pipe, wire fence, pottery, narrow wall crack, or watermelon, only to be forced to wait several hours for "rescue" - all the while her struggles being videoed so her captor might post to UTube and make $$ off her distress; and 5 - She would not be subjected to bathing with inappropriate human soaps and shampoos 5 times per day (poachers please note: cleanliness is not next to Godliness; in your case, it only will bring you closer to an eternity in hell) My thanks to the child and family that truly rescued Charlotte. Whatever happens, you've given her the best start in life and earned some terrific karma!

Beautiful baby Charlotte! My heart broke when she died. The young lady that raised her did an AWESOME JOB! Charlotte was a little doll!

I keep thinking about the female monkeys that "adopt" abandoned babies and somehow they start naturally lactating. I truly hope this happens for Charlotte. But I also saw where Rosy's unwanted baby was forced to cling onto her back and she ended up dropping it from the treetop and it died. Perhaps it will take another female other than birth mom to save this baby. At least baby Charlotte will have the best chance at a normal life in the wild where she belongs. It's so refreshing to see a human treat a newborn monkey with love, tenderness and respect. Job well done to her temporary human mom! Thank you AM!

we all would, but dont even wish for that. it only comes under bad circumstances. dont plant that seed into your head. and one thing most people simply dont understand is at just a week or two old babies do not want to be held. they want to run and explore. and only want to be held for suckling. there inquisitive and want to play. alot of people think they could hold a baby macaque and treat it as a human. holding it for a few years cuddling. its simply not the case. noone is prepared when they start climbing and tearing into everything at a few weeks old.

This is the first baby monkey l've seen , beeninv cared for by a human that isn't sucking on her fingers or flopping around on the floor screaming. The girl caring for this baby is a very special girl . Her caring is being showed by Charlotte behavior . There r to many monkey babies l wish had someone like her to care for them You blessed young lady.

AM, I am so glad to see this! It says a lot that they knew to contact you for advice. The way this situation was handled, by everyone involved, gives me renewed faith in humanity, & even greater respect for you. This little life was saved, from certain death, if it had been left "for nature to take it's course".
