The Story of K9 Klink

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

K9s 4 America was contacted in 2018 about K9 Klink. Officer Nicholson (handler) needed help with the K9’s medical condition. With 5 herniated disks in his spine, K9 Klink had to be assisted out of the vehicle, could barely walk, and sometimes could barely stand. We immediately recognized the deteriorating condition of K9 Klink. K9s 4 America found that at this point there was nothing that could be done to reverse the unfortunate situation. However, we did believe that with a commitment from the staff and from the handler, aggressive treatment might be able to help with the current situation and increase both the quality and quantity of life for K9 Klink. The handler’s veterinarian gave the unfortunate prognosis of 30 days. K9s 4 America did not disagree with this prognosis, but why not try to help. If the handler and K9 were willing to fight, then so were we. K9 Klink and his handler would spend countless hours in the hydrotherapy tank, receiving (PBMT) photo biomodulation, cold compression, TENS, message therapy, and lots of love. With this unwavering commitment by handler and staff we were able to give K9 Klink twelve months of quality life. Watching K9 Klink progress during that time and getting to know K9 Klink and hear all the amazing stories from his family and handler will never be forgotten. K9 Klink sacrificed so much to serve his human world; we are honored to return a simple thank you. Thank you, K9 Klink. Thank you, Officer Nicholson, and your family. And thank you, WBNS 10TV for telling this story. Forever you will live in our hearts K9 Klink.

Our Mission
We enhance the safety and improve the health of American communities by providing highly trained canines to law enforcement, veterans and schools. Specifically, K9s 4 America will:
Enhance the safety of our communities by providing MWD K9s that are highly trained for protection and detection to law enforcement agencies and first responders.
Provide renewed independence and enhanced quality of life for American veterans through the donation of specially trained MWD K9 service dogs.
Secure the safety of our communities by introducing specifically trained MWD K9s for the protection of children, teachers and other employees in our schools.
K9s 4 America has a deep passion and strong commitment for fundraising to support the donation of specially trained dogs to help law enforcement agencies, American veterans and schools in our communities. We want to ensure the vitality of K9 programs in local law enforcement agencies to help reduce the use of illegal drugs and other crimes in our communities.
K9s 4 America is dedicated to improving the health of American veterans who have served our country. Our donation of trained companion dogs will provide renewed independence and enhanced quality of life for veterans who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). By helping veterans heal, we can improve their mental health and reduce the rate of suicide among this honorable population.
As America experiences a drastic increase in gun violence in our schools, K9s 4 America is uniquely positioned to be a pioneer for the use of specially trained canines to help detect illegal drugs, weapons and explosives in our schools. Through our donations we hope to expand the use of canines to protect our children and enhance the overall safety of American schools.

I had to put my best friend down a year ago after he could no longer go. He was a Rottwielder named Bubba. I know how hard it is. Rest in Peace Officer Klink and when you get to where good dogs go, look up Bubba and tell him I miss him. 😢💔😞

Sad/Happy story. I wish I knew this place was available. I brought my retired bomb dog dog home with me from Iraq. A year later what had been diagnosed as hip dysplasia in Iraq, turned out to be a degenerative spine disease. He lived another year, when maybe we could have had a couple of more years.

Hello Bev- Thank you for sharing your life experience. It's extremely difficult to have to watch our K9s begin to physically break down before our very eyes. We expect so much from them, to be unable to help them when all they do is help us is a difficult feeling to have to embrace. This is one of the reasons why K9s 4 America was created. Hopefully through this channel the audience can become better aware of the wear and tear that our best friends endure during their lifetime. Please continue to watch as you and the audience will see and learn a plethora of tools and techniques that us humans can begin to apply in order to help reduce pain and create longevity for the ones that help keep us safe mentally and physically. K9s 4 America would love to hear more about your story if you're willing to share. Please feel free to email us at K9s4America@gmail.com

Lesson herein - be it human or animal, always get an expert opinion… the generalist is just that, like a primary care physician, y’all wouldn’t trust them to treat your diabetes or cancer diagnosis, no, you’d want to avail yourself of the experts for that condition (note/disclaimer: this obviously doesn’t apply to MAGA trumpies, who as we’ve seen during the Covid pandemic, many times chose to disregard the science and medical experts, oftentimes paying w/ their life and the financial well-being of their families, just b/c they were too ignorant to release that they didn’t understand how to separate fact from fiction)

@@K9s4America then you don't understand dogs. dogs are neither good nor evil. dogs do what they do to gain the affection of their masters and get food. that's it.
