Guy Penrod was born July 2, 1963, in Abilene, Texas. He is a pastor’s kid who spent his growing up years in Texas and New Mexico. When it was time to go off to college, Guy moved to Lynchburg, Virginia, to attend college at Liberty University, where he studied music and vocal performance. In addition to his studies, Guy served as a representative of the University by traveling and singing on the weekends. After four years he had earned not only a Bachelor’s degree, but also a lot of valuable singing and ministry experience.

God inspired music in every generation! I’m 74 tomorrow. I was exposed to music before I was born because my mom was the organist/pianist and my dad led the choir and congregational music. I graduated from Northwest Nazarene College (now university) with a B.A. in Vocal performance. I’ve used the degree participating in church choirs and special music from solos to praise team as well as an alum in NNU homecoming events. What a privilege it has been to worship the Lord with music.
Since I came across Guy Penrod"s singing, many years back, I remain very much inspired and blessed spiulritually. May you and your family remain blessed of God.
Guy has a clan of his own. Whole bunch.of sons and a daughter. Terrific dad. Happy father's day.
