THE Story Of Equestrian Olympic Competitors. An Award Winning Documentary Special

Фильм және анимация

Subscribers have been asking me to post this entire film. I have posted clips but never before shown the complete documentary. To support my efforts to create more clips please donate to me at www.patreon.com/allinaday. Back in the 1980s I got the chance to go behind the scenes with some of the greatest horseback riders in America. Competitors for the United States Equestrian Team at the Olympics. I am not a horse person and had no idea of the athleticism and courage needed to become great. Show jumping was masterful. Dressage was beautiful. 3 day eventing was terrifying. I am proud of this documentary and it won the blue ribbon at the American Film Festival that year.

I have had the absolute incredible gift of having a horse if my own. I loved him so much and had him for 26 yrs. he died at 37. A beautiful Arab and a wonderful gentle friend. I survived many accidents as a small a quick little steed he put up with my poor riding at first. God did create a wonderful animal and He was well pleased by his creation.

I spent 30 years riding/training/competing horses and, while I’m an old fart and don’t any more, this sure took me back to a life I loved. The collaboration between a horse and a rider it trusts is one like no other... I didn’t realize how much I missed it. Thank you David 💗

I never appreciated the extent to which the horses seem genuinely “pumped” when they nail a jump and are clearly energized by the crowd’s reaction.

I am forever grateful for my parents allowing me to have a horse to show growing up. It was the best therapy especially going through my teens, lol. They are such loyal beautiful creatures. Thank you for this video.

I remember this film. It's a great reminder of how much modern Olympic competition has gone downhill, especially in dressage. The jumpers are wearing a lot less hardware too.

God gave horses souls so they could develop close relationships with human. The outside of a horse is good for the inside of a person mind ,body, spirit

I discovered eventing in 1983 and this documentary was a big part of it. I was lucky enough to attend the 1984 Olympics and those are some of the best memories of my life. Went on to become a certified veterinary technician and worked in an Equine surgical hospital for many years. Dreams came true!

OMG the greats, William Steinkrais, George Morris... wow, so neat to see and hear their same methods/beliefs and their same voices as I’ve heard for decades. True horsemen from the roots up. To this day George gives lessons and loves to get on his students’ horses to demonstrate what he’s imparting to them. Wonderful. Thanks for posting this.

Sorry I am binge watching. I love horses and the races . I like gambling especially on horse races as you have a far better chance with odds as compared to lottery. I used to go with my father to the betting shop after my father visited his elderly patients (no car aircon in those days and my father would leave me in the car for up to an hour.) I always joked that our parents brought us up using Darwinism. My brother became a veterinarian doctor and told us how they breed race horses and other such horses where heritage is important. Thanks again.
