I recently had a chance to fish with Damien Cook, founder of the snakehead guide service Lowland Outfitters out of Dorchester County, Maryland. On July 5th, 2023, Damien broke the Maryland state record for Northern Snakehead. At 36 inches and 21 lbs, it was a whopper! Damien's fish also broke the previous IGFA record of 19 lbs 5 oz for Northern Snakehead. Approval by the IGFA for the new record is currently pending.
