Signum is a project from Dutch DJ and producer Ron Hagen. In the first 10 years of Signum, Ron worked together with Pascal Minnaard on all productions and remixes, but since 2007 Ron is the main man behind Signum.
In my previous interview with Ron, we already discussed the Signum classic “What Ya Got 4 Me”, but of course I was also curious about the story behind the track “Coming On Strong”. Which was a track from Signum, together with Scott Mac. So in this week’s vlog you will hear the story behind “Coming On Strong”.
Enjoy and thanks for watching!

Thank you! And unfortunately I don't see that happen (or at least not anytime soon....). Since Muzikxpress is "just" a hobby for me and since advertising revenue on KZread isn't much if you don't get millions of views, I simply don't enough budget for trips abroad. That means I can only do interviews with people who live nearby where I am based (in the south of The Netherlands) or with people who visit The Netherlands for gigs or for example the Amsterdam Dance Event. I haven't seen Scott Mac at a gig here in The Netherlands in ages, so not even sure if he's still active as a touring DJ. The little money I make with the channel all goes back into equipment or travel costs (gas, parking etc). Thanks for your understanding!

Interesting interview but what is the meaning of the lyrics? Maybe Ron doesn't even know. Is 'come on strong' a reference to feeling high, or to being forward? And is 'can't get around' about getting around an obstacle or getting around like the Beach Boys? None really makes sense to me. Edit: I suspect the lyrics that come up on the web are wrong.

I found the sample at whosampled. It's at 2.24 in the song 'Ain't No Way - Jazz House Overhaul' by Cheryl Pepsii Riley. There are no official lyrics but it sounds to me like, "I know I may appear to come on strong, [but if you take your chance on me, oh] you can't get around." Obviously it can be interpreted in a trance music scene way not intended in the original. I now like to interpret it... The scene itself is overwhelming at first, it 'comes on strong', but if you give it a chance, you won't be able to be disloyal to it. @@muzikxpress
