Фильм және анимация
Shane Meadows' highly anticipated documentary THE STONE ROSES: MADE OF STONE, about the legendary Manchester band, will open on 5 June across the UK and Ireland through Picturehouse Entertainment.
The release will follow a premiere on Thursday 30 May in Manchester at a location to be announced, with the band set to make a rare public appearance alongside director Shane Meadows and producer Mark Herbert.
With unprecedented access to previously unseen archive footage, THE STONE ROSES: MADE OF STONE is a revealing journey through the life of one of the most revered and influential bands in British music history.
Acclaimed filmmaker Shane Meadows brings his unique directorial style, humour and emotional depth to the film, capturing the band at work and in their everyday lives as they rehearsed for their much-anticipated reunion, which culminated in three triumphant homecoming gigs at Manchester's Heaton Park in front of 220,000 adoring fans.
Incorporating never-before-seen material spanning the band's musical history, the personal experiences of many of those touched by the band and their music, and unparalleled access to the record-breaking sell-out concerts which took place in summer 2012, this is the definitive record of the definitive band of the past 25 years.

One of the best bands to ever walk the earth. I'm 15 years old and The Stone Roses will always be played at least once a week for the rest of my life. Forever in love with this band!

25 now you still listening to them ?
I'm from Philippines and proud to be a Stone Roses fan since 89. Peace to all of you!
I watched this movie today,it's the greatest movie that I ever seen in this year. I can't imagine who won't fall in love with The Stone Roses? They are still brilliant now.
I'm in this twice .. on the left at 0:10 and again at 1:56 .. claim to fame! Best gig of m life .. dream come true. :)
Great thing about their music is that it's timeless. Shitty artists come and go but it's music like theirs that finds relevance in new generations of people, top band.
Will never forget rushing home from college having thought that the 'secret part hall gig was a rumour', only for it to be confirmed on twitter and by nme. Rushed into town to get those tickets, was at Heaton park a few days later and now I'm going to the Manchester 30th premiere!!!!!!! Lucky isn't the word
Words can't do my sentiment to The Stone Roses justice. I'm 17. I remember them being the first thing in my life I felt love for that wasn't a family member. Even at the age of 3-4 I remember hearing their CD on and replicating their poses in photos. I tried to walk and talk like Ian Brown. My Mum painted me a T-Shirt of the album cover. I watched the Blackpool DVD nearly every day. They made me fall in love with music. Heaton Park brought that all back. It knocked me still. Absolutely brilliant
oh god how much i love them...... just love..love... ONE LOVE.
Shane Meadows AND The Stone Roses, nothing from modern media could possibly be better
That line at the end from Brown, and the way he delivers it, is awesome.
Best band in the world! No one has touched them since!
''Theres a reason I've still got my hair like this. There's a reason I've never worn a tie. There's a reason I still listen to THAT album atleast once a week. It still makes me tingle.'' Never a truer word spoken man. This is going to be class. It might actually be possible to relive the best night of my life.
You have to see this band live and I'm so happy to say I got the chance to do that this year on their world tour. They were fantastic and still have it imo after l these years. Watching the documentarry tonight,by the brilliant Shane meadows. Cannot wait.
Heaton Park first night will go down in history as one of the best come backs of all time...Manchester sang its heart out, the clouds came and went, but the memories are forever.......................I went to watch them again in Perth Australia, was OK but after that magical night in Manchester..nothing can ever compare..................
I listened to their music casually. But I never realised how great they were until I saw them live at V-Fest! Amazing Band!
I went the second night at Heaton Park and it was unbelievable. Everyone front to back going for it, the drizzle didn't dampen our spirits that night. We stomped in the mud and sang till our throats hurt. Never forget it.
shane meadows captures being northern like no other and add this to the roses ... mint
I was born and raised in a small town in Northern California, I found their cd in a random bin in a thrift store it seemed interesting so I payed a whole two dollars for it. The cd sat on my shelf for monthes until I decided I needed some new music to put on my mp3 player. I still have and use that same mp3 player, I have erased and added many bands and songs to the player but the one band that has and never will be changed is the Stone Roses. I am incredibly excited to see this movie.
phoenix park gig was UNREAL!!!!!!! legends
Its genius Shane Meadows top director The Stone Roses top top top band How could it fail?? Been to see it twice already and cried both times. I've got until Saturday to see it again..........and I think I will!! Roll on the DVD release

Got so much respect for The Roses. Heaton Park was one of the best days of my life: nothing can top them.
Stone Roses are made of pure gold respect if you're from Manchester
I can't wait to get this on Blueray and up on my HD screen. I'm going to play that version of waterfall 1000 times and it'll blow my mind every time.

Just thinking back to the moment 70,000 heard the intro to Adored and the roar of everyone going mental gives me goosebumps still.
Fantastic documentary by Shane Meadows well worth going to see
The only film I have ever seen in a cinema which left me stood up clapping at the end - Brilliant.

We were there on the final Sunday ! Really cant wait to see this....
Fantastic film by one of our best filmmakers. There's another Stone Roses film coming out this month - "Spike Island". We've been lucky enough to see both films in full, and you can see our video review on our channel, I've Just Seen.
"You know and I know but you can’t write it down can ya? There’s a reason why I’ve still got me hair like this *pats head* there’s a reason why I’ve never wore a tie, there’s a reason why I listen to that album at least once a week........it still makes me tingle……. DUM DUM DUM DUM SOMETIMES IIIIII”
Goosebumps... That Warrington gig last year must've been epic... Best band ever for me.

The lad on trailer makes total sense of it, being a fan you cant put into words what the best band ever mean to you.
Haven't listened to this group. I'm still waiting for This Is England '90 haha. Oi from California!!
Best band in the world and my god do I want a money T-shirt like Ian...

Oh brilliant. And I'm their one fan from Michigan.
Btw, for those who aren't aware: The Stone Roses did release a little known second album called Second Coming in '94.
Amazing film, watched the premiere and would definitely see it again. Pumped for finsbury now!
Amazing Film Documentary
Made a dream of mine seeing them live yesterday at Finsbury Park. Legends :)
Nearly brought a tear to my eye when they got back together
Felt a tear coming along! It so exiting that its all happening. Two movies and a new record! It honestly feels like I'm going to see them again! Without doubt the greatest band of all time can't fucking wait!
Bloody brilliant!!!
Saw it today in the cinema, there are 3 songs played during the rehearsal footage segments -Waterfall is one and Where Angels Play - that's played for sure, I know the other song obviously but can't bloody remember what was played.
Shane Meadows: "This film isn't a history lesson, nor is it a two-hour concert film. It is a film about defying the odds, sticking it to the man and telling the cynics to shut their pie-holes.." >> we can't wait!
only need one word here! well maybe two! "fooking epic"
Cant wait for this.the trailer alone made the hairs on my neck stand on end
Seeing them for the third time in 12 months next week!
Apparently a US tour is being planned. I read it on the Don't Stop forum today.
Just one of the fans that were interviewed as they got tickets for the free Warrington gig.
Why are they so important to people...you know and I know...you just cant write it down...there is a reason I have my hair like this...there is a reason I have never worn a tie...there is a reason that I listen to that album at least once a week...it still makes me tingle

Yep, Reni is an animal. Fun fact Pete Townshend wanted him to join The Who after Moon had passed away and before the Roses got big..I seen him/them live and for my money, Mani and and Reni are one of the best rhythm sections on the planet..when they lock in a groove..and then Squire just floating in and around it with a brain shattering guitar sound and Ian was born to be a frontman. Been to hundreds of gigs, but the sound these 4 lads made was just unbelievable *MVITA*
Went to see this tonight, and it was amazing
I am the resurrection, over 8 minutes of jukebox goodness..
counting down the days...
So glad I saw them last summer :)
i don't care who i'm gonna bring with me, i'm literally gonna drag them to see this with me!!
Was at the 1st Glasgow green gig & i'll be at the june 1 UNTIL SALLY I WAS NEVER HAPPY
I MUST SEE THIS MOVIE.
I want to watch this movie with my family.
I hope I'm on that film, I went Parr Hall and Heaton Park, I thought that was me at 58 seconds saying "get in" but it ain't.
AMAZING FILM.
Can't wait for this !
AWESOME!!
I just saw this movie in Toronto. A movie that must be seen to appreciate the story and the talent of the Stone Roses. But I did miss which older and huge concert it was where all the crown are jumping in unison out front. There were a few clips in the movie, just 4 to 5 seconds long each... Can someone help me? I've got my Made of Stone poster from the screening, on my wall now. They are an inspiration!!! Long live the Stone Roses!!!
